-3- (one-shot)

Kurt and Blaine were always known as amazing fathers. They always knew what to do and what to say.

Their daughters birthday came rolling around the corner pretty soon, and boy, it made everyone excited.

Blaine walked into his daughter's room, kneeling down to kiss her forehead.

"Wake up, sleepy head." He laughed as she fluttered her eyes open.

"Already?" She whined, sitting up. Blaine nodded and smiled. Kurt could hear them from across the hall and came with a wide grin spread across his face.

"Happy birthday, Sweetheart!" Kurt exclaimed excitedly.

Traci simply smiled and walked to the bathroom.

-+-

"Ugh! I still have nothing!" Kurt said out of frustration. Blaine shook his head and tried to think, but his thoughts were soon interrupted by the door bell. Blaine was the first to zoom out of the bedroom and into the living room.

You'd think they would know what to do for their daughter's birthday, but no. After all those years of being "the perfect parents" who always knew what to say, and how to react to things, Traci's birthday puzzled them.

Kurt walked over to an annoyed Blaine. "What's wrong?" Kurt asked with a very worried tone. Blaine didn't respond.

Kurt shook it off and waited for Blaine to open the door. His husband wrapped his hand around the cold handle, pulling it open. At the door, there stood their friends Rachel, and of course you can't leave without Mercedes. Blaine and Kurt moved out of the way, simply allowing them to make their way in.

"We're here to pick Traci up for her sweet 16." Mercedes nonchalantly commented, staring straight at the couple.

"Where exactly are you two taking her?" Blaine asked cautiously, his hazel eyes cut.

"To the mall, ooh and then to Breadstix." Rachel said excitedly.

"Hmm. Kurt hummed. "We know where those are" Kurt mumbled. "How long are you keeping her?" Blaine asked curiously.

"Until 7." Mercedes replied. Kurt and Blaine nodded approvingly.

"Traci! Rachel and Mercedes want to take you out today!" Blaine shouted up the stairs. And as soon as Traci processed why had been said, she was zooming to her wardrobe.

What harm could a break do? This particular day was hard to think of something special and Rachel and Mercedes came in like white knights or some shit.

-+-

"Not even a goodbye, huh?"

"Looks like we have a few hours to ourself." Blaine replied to Kurt's rhetorical question, a small smirk taking the place of his straight face.

-+-

Soon, they just ended up in the bed again. Blaine's arm wrapped around his husband, and Kurt's arm resting over Blaine's.

"I love you." Kurt mumbled contently. But before Blaine could even open his mouth, a ring sounded through, interrupting him.

"Ugh!"
