- MADDIE AND MACKENZIE THE DINNER IS READY!

Madison went downstairs and sat at the table were the dinner wasn't ready. Mackenzie arrived and asked Melissa:

- Where is the dinner?
- I have something important to tell you.
- What? Mackenzie and Madison said.
- We are moving out.
- Where? Madison asked.
- In Toronto.. with Manuel and his two kids, Shawn and Aaliyah.

Madison looked in her mother's eyes.

- Melissa, does he know?

Melissa looked at the ground.
Mackenzie asked:

- What are you talking about?
- Kenz' don't ask.
- oh..
- So I guess he doesn't know. Family secrets again.

- Maddie stop. Said Melissa. I hope you will call me Mom than because they will think I am not a good mother.

- No, I can call you whatever I want.

She rolled her eyes and got up. She took two plates and put them in front of Mackenzie and Madison.

- So we will have a step brother and a step sister? Mackenzie said.
- Yes but you will like them. Melissa said.
- We'll see, Madison said.
- Maddie.
- What?

Melissa gasped and they all ate in silence. When everyone ate, Madison took the plates and washed them with my sister. Then her mother said:

- Girls, start making boxes, we are moving out next week.
- ok. Mackenzie answered for both of the girls.

After making the dishes, the oldest teenager ran into her room and started doing boxes with the stuff she wouldn't need until the day they move out. Mackenzie walked in her sister's room and sat on her bed. She looked worried.

- Maddie, we will change school, be two hours away from our friends, and we probably won't see our father ever again.
- I don't mind not seeing dad to be honest.
- You know what I mean.
- Yeah I do, but we will get used to it. We will meet new friends.
- Do you think Shawn and Aaliyah are nice?
- I've never met them but I know Shawn makes covers on vine.
- How old are they?
- Shawn is sixteen and Aaliyah is eleven, I think.
- Okay...
- Don't worry we will be fine.
- You promise?
- I promise.

She hugged her little sister. Since their parents divorced, they have been close because they didn't have anyone else. Madison helped her sister a lot and Mackenzie tried her best to do the same for her sister. They hoped they would get trough all of this. they hoped they would not have to hide any other family secrets.
