A month later, after Shawn finished touring, Shawn and Madison got a whole new life. Madison was asked everyday by a fan for a picture and she started to be known for Shawn's first public girlfriend. The hate wasn't as intense as it was a month ago but it was still going on. 

Shawn and his girlfriend were back at Shawn's apartment were they decided to stay for a couple of days before Madison would move in. First they wanted their family to come to Shawn's apartment for a dinner and like that they could explain everything, well, almost everything. 

- Shawn did you call your dad? My mom and my sister are coming in an hour. 

- Yeah they will be there honey, don't worry. 

- Shawn, I don't think my mother is going to let me move in here.

- I'll talk to her and if she still doesn't want to I'll kidnap you. 

Shawn laughed while putting his arms around the young woman. 

- Shawn it's not funny.

- Shut up woman and let me kiss you. 

Madison smiled and put her lips on his.  

- You know Madison, I was madly in love with you back then and I always was ever since you left. 

- I know Shawn. 

- But you don't understand. You are the only one I ever want in my life. You are special, different. I know we are meant for each other and NEVER will I ever let you go, I promise. Words can't even explain it. 

- You know what Mendes?

- What?

- I feel the same exact way about you. 

They both smiled even more. They had waited to be together for the longest time and they felt like they have never been that happy. 

- Well, excuse me lady I have to go make the dinner if you want it to be ready when everybody arrives. 

- Well, excuse me sir I have to clean this apartment if you want us to look presentable when everybody arrives. 

Shawn nodded and kissed Madison on the forehead before unwrapping his arms from her. 

Madison cleaned every room and made the table. Shawn cooked everything and left it in the oven so it would be hot. 

A knock on the door was heard by both young adult. They headed to the door before opening it. Mackenzie and Melissa were standing in the Hallway. 

- Come in, said Shawn, politely.

- Hi guys, said Mackenzie. 

Melissa was saying hello by putting a big smile on her face. She saw that her daughter seemed happy and that, meant everything to her.

- Hi sister! Said Maddie as she hugged her sister. 

By the time Shawn closed the door, another knock was heard. Shawn quickly opened the door and then Aaliyah ran to hug her brother and right after that, she saw Mackenzie and screamed.

- MACKENZIE! I HAVE'NT SEEN YOU IN SO LONG.

She jumped in her arms. Manuel saw Melissa and her daughter and seemed confused but happy. 

- Hi Melissa, it's been a while since we actually saw each other. 

- You're right, it is. 

They gave a hug, significating they were in good terms and then everybody turned to Shawn and Madison. 

- So, let's sit down and eat dinner. 

They sat down as Shawn went to get the dinner and then served it to people. They ate and made good comments to Shawn about it. They laughed a lot and talked about their lives. 

- I want to talk about something, said Shawn. 

- Go ahead, said Manuel. 

- OK so, when Melissa and my father were together, Maddie and I became really close and we actually had feelings for each other but we decided to stay away from each other because we didn't want to ruin you guys relationship. We didn't talk for two years because I thought she didn't want to talk to me and she thought the same about me. For two years we both were madly in love with each other but didn't know that the other person felt the same way. So when we saw each other, a month and a half ago. We started dating right after telling ourselves the feelings we had. We have waited for this for so long and I'm never letting her go again, I promise.

- Thank you for explaining, I didn't know all of this, said Melissa.

- Me neither, said Manuel.

Shawn took his girlfriend's hand under the table and said:

- I have something else to say.

Madison looked confused.

- Madison, the day I met you, I knew you weren't that girl who put a cover on to look strong. I knew underneath who you really were. I fell in love with your unique sence of living. I love every inch of you. I know we haven't been dating for a long time but we both know our love will last forever and whatever may happen to you, I will forever support you. So..

Shawn took of her hand and got up. He went down on one knee and opened a little box that he has been hoding behing him. A gorgeous gold ring was in it.

- Madison, will you marry me?

Madison's eyes were filled with tears and everybody was speechless from the amount of information they just heard.

- Yes.

Madison started to cry and Aaliyah and Mackenzie were exited.

- Can Aaliyah and I be the bridesmaids?

- Of course, said Shawn.

Shawn put the ring on Madison's finger and took her in his arms.
He whispered in her ears.

- I'm never letting you go, ever. And, don't worry, you are moving in.

The family stared to clap their hands as they realised they were a family once again.

Never will they ever look back again, this was their new life and they were happier than ever.

- I love you baby.

- I love you too Shawn.
