A few days later we are preparing for the coronation together and Shane sighs exhausted.
-What's wrong?
Shane-Nothing much, I just don't think I'm ready for taking the throne right now. I'm, I don't want to mess up.

I turn to Shane worried and so we swim by the palace looking for her and calling her out. The staff hasn't seen her and neither has the queen. She orders the royal guards to look for her and so we go look for her. Of course, the coronation is canceled or rather Shane just assumes command of the kingdom together with his mother as we look around for Pearl. After searching for a while we meet up at the throne room all.
Shane-Mother, did you found her?
Queen-No, I searched the dolphin breeding grounds, the shark feeding grounds, the turtle currents, she's not there.
Shane-We went to the reef and the underground caves. We didn't find her either.
-We have to find her, she's our little girl.
Shane-And we will find her. I promise, I'll bring her back. Safe and sound.
He hugs me comfortingly as he orders the guards to keep looking and he pulls my face to look at him.
Shane-Let's go find our daughter.
-Where do we even start looking?
Shane-Shall we go to your home, the beach there. Is a good start.

We nod and going out we go to my old home. We turn and look along the beach with no luck. We turn back to swim by the other ways we can when I remember a place we haven't looked yet. I stop and pull Shane's hand.
Shane-What happened?
-There is a place we haven't checked.
Shane-Where?
-Where she was born. Remember where you took me to be safe when it was time for her to be born.
Shane-That place but, how would she know about it. She was barely two days there.
-Maybe she's there.
Shane-We have to search everywhere for her.
He nods and so we go there at top speed. When we get there is not how I remember it, the reef there has grown out of control and it looks like a maze.
-Shane.
Shane-I know. Let me check something.
He places his hand on the edge of an entrance before he knocks on it. The sound echoes loudly through the entire thing and he just looks at it for a moment before it echoes again but is not Shane who makes the noise but from the inside. We swim around the thing trying to find the source of the noise, when it stops Shane would do it himself again until he gets the response again and so we look until we find it. With that he breaks the wall and when the dust clears is a real relief when we see her there cuddling on one of the many entrances.
-Pearl.
She looks up at us and before either of us has time to get her she swims hurriedly to Shane's arms crying loudly.
Pe-Daddy.
Shane-Shush now, easy, we're here.
-You're safe now. Let's go home.
Shane nods and keeping her in his arms we go home.

By the time we get home she's asleep on his father's arms and as we go everyone turns to us but they don't dare approach or speak as they respectfully let us pass and go to the palace. Still, I can tell they're relieved and glad we found her safely. Even his mother doesn't even tries to stop him when we enter the palace. We swim silently to our room just enjoying that our daughter is back with us safely and when we get her on the bed neither of us dares to let go of her afraid of losing her for real this time.
Shane-I was so scared there was someone taking her but I'm actually glad she was only lost because of her curiousity.
-I'm just glad she's here with us. Safe and sound. That's what matters.
I kiss Pearl on the forehead and so does he.
Shane-You're right, and that's what matters.
We share a smile and lying down at both her sides we go to sleep wrapped around her with fierce protectiveness and parental love.
The next day Pearl wakes up like nothing happened at all. We let her play around for a while more until at night we organize the coronation for the dinner time. We make a feast inviting the entire kingdom to eat with us. And so it starts.

We set the tables served nicely around the throne room and once every mermaid and merman is here the queen speaks.
Queen-My fellow merpeople. Today, in this feast I wanted to thank you all for allowing me to be your queen as best as I could during this time. I really enjoyed sharing my moments, your moments and our moments together. Now then, my last duty as queen is to present you with your new king. Today, my son, crown prince Shane will become your king right now.
She turns and looks at us and Shane swims forward and to her. He gives a slight bow to his mother and she takes his father's crown and crowns him instead.
Queen-Today, you will no longer be prince Shane as now you have grown to be king Shane. May your time on the throne be a prosperous one, wise and kind.
She sighs and backing away a bit she takes off her own crown and she comes to me and pulling me by his side she crowns me as the queen and our daughter as the princess. She smiles fondly at us before she turns to the kingdom again.
Queen-Welcome the new royal family.
With a last bow everyone cheers at us loudly when Shane swims forward and with his trident he makes it glow and he speaks loud for everyone to hear even over the cheers.
Shane-Let the feast begin. Enjoy.
With that the cheers turn to small talk between the merpeople as we all sit down to eat. My mother in law eats with the merkids as I eat with Shane on the throne and we party all night long.

Brad POV

I take a different approach and go back on the defensive. He comes forward and he tries to make it his point but counter attacking I push his weapon aside and with a sudden head on all full attack I stretch out and make it my point but for some reason it hurts. I don't realize I'm on the floor until I get up and I look at the staff referee.
Staff-Match over, Kurt wins. Salute.
I take off my helmet and going forward I shake hands with my opponent as a sign of respect.

We nod and disconnecting from the electronic devices I go with my teammates. They laugh and clap me on the back and shoulders and ruffle my hair congratulating me and I can't help but laugh as well until our trainer cuts in.
Trainer-That's enough you guys, let him change and wash up.

Trainer-No problem, that was a good match. Well then, have a drink you all, the award ceremony is beginning.

We all take a bottle of water, juice, Powerade or Gatorade and so we go for our award. We win second place on team as the French won that one and on individual I win first place with the gold and a trophy with the gold medal followed by an Australian boy on second with a small trophy and the silver medal and the French on third place with just a bronze medal. We all go to our own teams and getting to the showers we change and refresh before we go on our bus to eat something.

As we go we celebrate all the way through. The trainer drives as the five of us travel and speak in the back. I look at them, Josh, Peter, Raul and Angel. We look at each other making our decision and together we all speak aloud.
