Demeter POV
I get pulled out of my thoughts when my daughter talks to me.
Persephone-Mother. You are not listening to me.
-I am sorry. Truly. Forgive me. What were you talking about?
P-Nothing much really. I was asking you how were you feeling. Both Hermes and Eros said that you weren't looking bad.
-Is not so bad. They're exaggerating things as usual.
P-I don't think they did and besides, I think they're right.
Her grave tone makes me curious and worried.
-What do you mean?
P-Something weird is happening with us gods and heroes. Hercules moved back to Olympus. Perseus, Poseidon and his wife are there too. Olympus got directly attacked by dragons. Our temples in Greece are being robbed, defiled and assaulted constantly. Even natural disasters. The earth, my spring feels weird.
-Like the earth itself has been defiled and weakened.
P-Yeah and the lower monsters that are usually fighting each other are working together. Chimera moved to Olympus as well. I think Zeus has sensed danger but he's grumpy to the unknown.
-Maybe is a known danger. I got to talk to Hades.
P-He is at the underworld. He's making all the security stronger but he's busy.
-He will attend me. You have been down there, you can guide me down there.
I smile as she let's out a sigh of defeat.
P-Alright. Let's get by Cerberus and then to uncle Hades.
Hades POV
I groan as I stretch and then I lean back and sideways on my spot by the edge just outside of Tartarus. It has been a while since I had to do this. Several times in my life I have done this but everytime it has been a very exhausting experience for me. It is more exhausting this time because is not only my father trying to escape but also the other titans and that is truly worrisome for us. I continue my paperwork as nothing can't be left for later so I keep working.
After a few hours I'm barely awake as I keep dozing off. Barely aware of my surroundings. That's when I hear them calling me.
Hera-Hades!
I jolt standing on alert when I recognize the tone of my wife when she calls my name. I turn around and see all three of them coming towards me. I go greet them halfway.
-My love.
A soft kiss and a hug.
-Hera, Persephone, Demeter. What are you doing here?
Hera-I was worried and they wanted to talk.
-So you used them as an excuse to appease your worries.
She shrugs and we all laugh. As the laughter dies down the atmosphere gets dark as well. Demeter is the first to speak.
D-Hades. The earth is weak and sick. I think is father.
-Yes. I know. I'm trying to keep him down here.
D-Hades. I'm saying that he's already out.
-Nothing has come out of here.
My anger and voice rise and I feel how my wife and niece hold me. I tighten myself and so Demeter resumes speaking.
D-I only meant that he was already out before you even got here.
Her words hit me like a splash of cold water in the face and I just sigh.
-Is possible but, how could I miss it? I just have to double, triple check and make sure if he's there or not. You three go back to earth. Hera, get our kids and their kids and go to Olympus. Demeter, help her. Persephone, help me.
With that we get on to our tasks with me wondering if we're too late or not.
