Chapter 5
The campers are surprised to see the Hunters of Artemis. Even though the relationship between the two groups has become a good one in the last ten years, the Hunters hardly ever actually visit camp unless necessary.
When they arrive, most of the Hunters retreat to Artemis's cabin while four of them make their way into the big house. A large group gathers outside, curiosity pulling them away from their activities. Mr. D is off somewhere for the day and whatever has brought Thalia and the girls to camp seems to have consumed Chiron as well. No one is there to scold and send them away.
Inside the big house, Thalia sends two of the girls she brought with her away.
Dani, a daughter of Apollo sends one last look towards the still figure on the bed before doing as she's told. Even if she has sworn off men there's a part of her that always wants to heal those who need it and so she finds it difficult to walk away.
Chiron sits by the bed in his wheelchair as one of his councilors and part-time campers, Will Solace, looks over the mortal boy.
He glances up at the daughter of Zeus, but she doesn't say anything. When she came in she alerted them to the chimera poison and then promptly became close-lipped. The blonde boy on the bed is deathly pale, but Will's already managed to remove the poison, and now he is tending to the head wound. So far there is nothing unique about the mortal aside from the fact that he was targeted by a monster and that makes the old centaur suspicious. Why would Thalia bother to bring him here and just why was he attacked?
Will steps back, "That's all I can do for now. He has a small concussion, but it should be fine. The only thing I'm concerned about is the wound on his arm. It's deep and without ambrosia, which he can't eat, it will heal slowly."
The older Son of Apollo is dressed for work in a white coat with his medical bag in hand. He works downtown in a hospital during the week and just happened to be visiting camp for the weekend when they brought the teen in.
Chiron nods slowly before turning to Thalia. "Care to explain."
The black-haired Huntress huffs and folds her arms across her chest. She looks anywhere but at her old mentor. "He's important." When the centaur raises an eyebrow she groans and stomps over to the door. Just before she leaves she says, "I'm not going to say it out loud, but you'll see for yourself as soon as he wakes up."

Ian blinks awake, his mind struggling with the throbbing headache beating at the back of his head. He looks around, but there is nothing familiar for him to see. His fuzzy brain can't make sense of the tan walls or the white paneled ceiling. He tries to remember how he got here and the last thing he remembers is heading home after meeting Tony Stark and the woman named Alicia. He doesn't even recall the trip home.
He groans as he slowly pushes himself into a sitting position. A sharp pain shoots through his right arm, causing him to gasp and curl the limb close to his chest. The door creaks and his vision dances as he looks up.
An older man in a wheelchair pushes himself into the small room. Their eyes meet and the man's eyes widen. He shakes his head and curses under his breath in a different language. Greek or at least Ian thinks it is. He slides his legs out from under the covers so that he is facing the man when he is finally beside the bed. Ian shakes the offered hand.
"How do you feel?" the man asks. His voice is soothing in that way that only older professors tend to be.
"F-fine," Ian voice cracks and his eyes immediately catch sight of a glass of water on the nightstand. He reaches, hesitates and then takes it when the man nods his consent. The liquid slides down and cools his throat. He refrains from gulping it, not too fond of getting the hiccups from drinking too fast. He sits the glass back down. "Where - who are you?"
The elder chuckles and settles back in his chair. "I am known simply as Chiron. And who are you may I ask?"
"Ian," he says slowly. It's as if this Chiron man expects him to say something different, as if he knows him as someone else. That's when it hits Ian. Percy. He's been called that by a few people now. It can't be a coincidence can it, that even this man sees him as someone he's not? So he leans forward ignoring the throbbing in his head and asks, "Do you know who Percy is?"
This seems to surprise the old man even farther, but then he regains his composure and smiles a sad and nastalgic smile. "Yes, I did in fact, though it was years ago."
"People keep mistaking me for him," Ian says sheepishly, his gaze falling to his hands which are folded in his lap."
"You think they are mistakes?" Chiron asks, a hint of curiousity touching his voice just slightly.
Ian's head snaps up so quickly that the world spins wildly around him. He clutches at his hair, trying to make things stand still again, but it doesn't seem to be helping and on top of that his arm is one big piece of pain attached to his shoulder. He groans.
He feels a hand on his shoulder. "You've been through a lot and still have to heal. Rest. I will have someone here to help you when you wake."
The blonde nods without looking up and slowly leans sideways until his head hit the pillow. He pulls his leg up on top of the blankets. He keeps his hands on his head as if that will make his dizzyness go away. Chiron gives him one last pat on the shoulder before leaving to find Thalia.
- O - O - O - O - O -
Thalia is talking with Dani when Chiron approaches her. He lets her know that the boy - Ian, is sleeping, but he doesn't think he will for long. He wants her to watch over the mortal until they are fully able to decide what to do next.
She takes the daughter of Apollo with her, because the young girl is worried about Ian's health and won't be satisfied until she's sure that her half brother has done all he can. When Thalia shoots her a look. Dani huffs and says, "It doesn't matter if I'm a maiden or not, I'm still a healer and that boy is still injured!"
Thalia smirks and nods her consent, though she doubts that she'll be much help. Will always was the best healer at camp and if he's done all he can then nothing more can be done. At least that's what's always proven to be true.
However things change when Dani looks over Ian. She doesn't seem to find anything she can do to help at first, but just before she goes to take her leave she furrows her eyebrows. Following an urge she presses the palms of her hands on either side of the sleeping boy's head and she feels a warms sensation that flows from her heart to her fingertips and into Ian.
He gasps and his eyes shoot open. Green irises meets blue and realization seems to dawn on him. "Thalia?"
