~Harmony~

It was a few weeks after Jess left for summer camp and we never texted each other. I was sitting at the bay window gazing out the window looking at the business around me. I checked the time, 11:48 AM. I started to wonder, Did she forget me? Did she make new friends? Did she find a new best friend?

I decided to text her for the first time since she left and I wanted to see if maybe Jess would reply back? I wanted to make sure that she would never ever forget me and she would never ever replace me...

I connect my phone to my Bluetooth headphones and wait until she replies while listening to some of my remixes...

It's around 12:15 PM and my dad calls me for lunch. I stop the music playing and I place my headphones on the chair. I head downstairs and try to think of what we're having for lunch. I sniff the air and take a deep breath. Ahh... The sweet, yummy aroma of...

RAMEN NOODLES! I'm so happy!!! It's my favorite Japanese food! Wait...What's that I smell? Oh...My dad wants to play that way, doesn't he...Hehehe...Just wait, father...I will add more than you could ever think of, I say in my mind with a smirk on my face. I run downstairs and say, "Oh!!! Yay!!! RAMEN NOODLES!!! LET'S GOOO!!!" I see the hot sauce still on the table and I ask my dad, "Could you get me a napkin from the kitchen please?"

"Of course. Anything for my Mo," he says. "Dad, don't do that, PLEAse."

The second he steps into the kitchen, I grab the hot sauce and pour almost the whole bottle into his bowl and quickly stir it to hide the evidence. I walk into the kitchen before my dad walks out and say, "Oh nevermind Dad. I don't want the napkin. I'm just gonna get a drink. Wait for me before you eat though."

"Roger that. I'll go sit down and wait for you."

I grab a bottle of milk and bring it to the dining room. I hide it so my dad can't see it and tell him, "Oh, I changed my mind about the drink. I didn't want to keep you waiting and I really wanted to eat the noodles."

We start eating and I gobble up almost the entire bowl to my dads' satisfaction, but little does he know that I added more hot sauce in his. I look at my dad and see that he just took his first bite. I act like the hot sauce was so spicy for me and once I see the look on my dads face, I pull out the bottle of milk and chug the whole bottle in front of him.

"Harmony! What. Did." He coughs. "You. Do?"

"Oh, I just did a little payback. Don't worry I'll get you TWO bottles of milk. I just hope you learned your lesson dad. Love you though!!!"

I quickly run to the fridge and grab two bottles of milk, hand it to my dad, and watch him chug them down. "Sorry, dad...Are you ok?"

"Yea hun. Just please don't do that again."

"Of course! Unless you do it...I'm gonna head back upstairs to my room. Need anything else?"

"Besides help with my tongue on fire right now? Nope, nothing."

I smile. My dad smiles back. "I'm going now."

I look at the time, 1:13 PM. Maybe Jess replied? I play the music again and put on my headphones. I'm sure that she would never forget me.

I look at my phone to see if she replied yet...
