I yawned a little as I woke up. I turned my head to the clock and saw that it was only two in the morning. Of course my bladder would decide it wants to act up right now. I got up and left my room in search of the bathroom.

Since I was the only one up, my footsteps were pretty loud when walking down the hall. Once I got to the bathroom, I did my business and washed my hands before leaving.

As I was walking back, the sound of a grunt made me stop. For a second I thought I was hearing things but when I heard the grunt again, I followed the sound. It led to Max's bedroom and his door was cracked open.

I peeked my head in and though I couldn't see his face well, I could still make out his scrunched up face. It looked as if he were in pain.

Was he having a nightmare?

I walked over to his bedside and upon a closer look, I could see that he was breathing heavily. I shook him a little. Max twitched a little bit but his face stayed scrunched so I shook him harder and this time, his eyes flew wide open.

"...what..?" He muttered confused as he sat up and I looked up at him with a small frown.

"I think you were having a nightmare..." I said quietly and Max nodded slowly before rubbing his eyes and wiping the sweat from his brow.

"Sorry...I ain't mean to wake you up" he said and I shook my head before leaving the room as quickly and quietly as possible. I went into my room and grabbed my turtle plush before going back to Max's room.

"She's always kept me from having nightmares...so I don't mind lending her to you for now" I said giving my plush turtle to Max who was just staring at it wide eyed as if he had never seen one before.

"I..." Max seemed to be struggling to say something so I just shoved my plush into his arms before he could say anything.

"You need her more than I do right now..." I lied. I was willing to lose some sleep if it meant that Max could get some.

A small huff from Max caught my attention and his lips were turned up ever so slightly.

"But you can't sleep without her either, can you?" He said and I didn't answer but rather just averted my eyes. Max sighed at my refusal to answer his question.

"You little punk. C'mere" he said making room for me on the bed and I hesitated. On multiple occasions Max had made it clear that he didn't like it when his personal space was being invaded and that's exactly what I would be doing if I joined him.

Max frowned upon noticing my hesitance.

"You're not Kade so it's fine" he said and I nodded slowly before crawling into the bed and Max threw the covers over me, instantly making me feel warm.

He placed the plush in between us.

"Now we can both get some sleep, hm?" He said before stroking my hair, a gesture that was so foreign for someone like Max but I welcomed it all the more because of the relaxing sensation it provided me.

It was when he started to hum a very soothing tune, that sleep had crept up on to me so I closed my eyes and let myself succumb to the world of dreams.

"This is so cute, I could just die! But I'm also really jealous at the same time..."

"Kade, get out of here"

"W-Wait! I need to take a picture!"

"Now!"

"Ow, ow, ow..." the sound of Kade and Lance's voices faded as the door shut softly and that's when I felt the rustling from above me.

"So fucking annoying..." I heard Max mutter and I don't think he noticed that I was up yet as he had begun to stroke my hair again.

I looked up at him with sleepy eyes and he looked a little surprised to see that I was up before his face went back to his normal 'resting bitch face' as Ares put it.

"He woke you up too, huh? Annoying asshole" Max said.

"It's okay..." I said while letting out a yawn.

"You can go back to sleep. It's only eight and it's the weekend. No one should have a problem" Max said and I nodded before falling back to sleep with the help of Max's soft strokes on my head.

This time when I woke up, I was the only one still in the bed. I yawned before getting out of Max's bed and heading downstairs where my brothers were.

"Oh, there goes our sleeping beauty" Kade said upon seeing me.

"We were just talking about you, kiddo. How would you like to go see a movie today?" Ares asked. I tilted my head at him a little as I thought about his offer.

I don't think I've ever been to the cinema before. It's not really a place I could see myself going to because of how crowded it is. However, I didn't want to let that be the reason why my brothers couldn't enjoy a movie they wanted to see so I just nodded my head.

"Great! We've been having trouble on picking a movie and we need a tie breaker" Kade said.

"Lucas, Lance and Max want to see some boring life story movie" Ares said jabbing a thumb at the three who were standing one side.

"And we want to see a thriller" he finished while gesturing to him, Kade, and Roman who were on the opposite side.

"Let me say this once again for the cerebrally challenged people in the room" Lance said as he threw a sharp look at Ares.

"The movie you want to see is rated R. Ceres is too young. I have no problem watching something else, as long as it isn't rated R" Lance said.

"Oh come on, just cause it's rated R? What's the big deal?" Ares said. Max rolled his eyes before speaking up.

"Why is the person with no common sense being allowed to have a say?" Max said and Ares gaped at him.

"Wow, Maxi pad. That was low, even for you. I'll remember this" Ares said before sitting on the couch and crossing his arms.

I just watched silently as my brothers went back and forth on what movie they wanted to see. I really didn't mind since I haven't seen many movies so I was open to watching anything.

In the end, we all settled on just seeing a comedy since it was something that anyone can watch.

We had to take two cars since there was a lot of us. In the car with me was Ares (passenger), Roman (driver), and Kade.

"Roman, you're not serious right now are you?" Ares asked as we were now on the road.

"What are you talking about?" Roman asked and Ares groaned.

"What am I talking about? This fucking audible book you have playing. You're such a grandpa!" Ares exclaimed and in the mirror I could see Roman's annoyed expression.

"You can walk to the damn theater if you want to complain" Roman said.

"Can't you put on something we all can listen to?" Ares asked.

"Oh for goodness sake, Ares just let the old man listen to his book!" Kade said, tired of hearing Ares complaining.

"You actually want to listen to this?" Ares asked turning in his seat to face us.

"You know, for someone who has their license suspended, you sure do have a lot of mouth on you" Roman said and Ares frowned before turning back to the front.

"I can't win with you people..." Ares grumbled.

I sighed. I had gotten a little tired from hearing them argue and rested my head on the window and watched the blurry scenery go by but it was hard to be comfortable with my glasses pressing into the side of my face.

It made me remember how long it took for me and Kade to get out of that place. Kade made me try on so many different glasses that the woman working there had to remind him that my glasses were not an accessory, but rather a necessity and that I should be the one to choose. I had eventually settled on a dark green frame.

When we finally arrived at the theater, Ares looked as if he were bored out of his mind.

"Lucas, buddy, switch cars with me on the way back" Ares said when we regrouped. He swung his arm over Lucas' shoulders and Lucas just raised an eyebrow at him in turn.

We all walked into the theater and as I expected, there was a lot of people. It was loud and the strong scent of buttery popcorn hit me full blast.

"Lucas and Roman, you two go get the tickets. I'll take the others with me to the concession stand" Lance said and they both nodded before we all went our separate ways.

"What do you want, Honey? There's skittles, milk duds, crunch, gummy bears, twizzlers..." Kade continued to name off everything in the candy section and something told me he was naming them more for himself than he was for me.

"Her teeth is gonna fall out if she eats too much of this shit" Max said and Kade stopped once realizing he had gone off into a rant.

"Oh! Right, sorry" he said with a small chuckle.

I wasn't really too fond of overly sugary things but I did like gummy bears so I got two packs and a medium drink that was filled with orange Hi-C juice.

Once Lucas and Roman came back from getting their tickets, we waited for them to go get their items at the stand before heading into the theater.

Seeing how dark it was, I squinted my eyes to try and make sure that I wouldn't trip on any of the steps. I had successfully made it to my seat in between Lance and Max.

While the ads were playing, I chewed on my gummy's. They were mostly showing new movie trailers and some other things. I was watching them until I heard Kade whisper something to Roman who was next to him.

"I don't believe it. This kid was complaining the entire way here and then falls asleep during the previews" He said and Roman just gave a light chuckle.

"Well, if you ask me, I prefer him asleep during the movie rather than talking my ear off" he said.

After that, the movie had soon begun. It was interesting at some parts even though I had gotten lost at some of the jokes. There were some parts where the entire audience would laugh but I guess I was looking at the movie from too much of a direct angle to actually get the humor in it.

It felt like forever before the movie was over. Ares had slept through the entire movie and it was clear that Lance wasn't happy about that as he rudely woke Ares up with a harsh pinch.

"Jeez, you didn't have to pinch me that hard" Ares said as we walked out the theater. He was still holding on to his cheek that was now red because of Lance.

Lance said nothing to him and just continued to walk ahead of us.

"Did you like the movie?" Lucas asked and I nodded with a small smile.

"I don't think I understood most of the jokes...but I did enjoy it" I said truthfully and Lucas nodded.

"Well, I'm glad you enjoyed it. From what I understand, you've been listening to them bicker all day" he said and I let out a small airy laugh at his words.

"It's alright...it's like playful arguing, right? That just means you all are close..." I said and Lucas hummed.

"That's an interesting way to see it. I don't think there will ever come a day where none of them will argue. It's like a daily routine for them" Lucas said.

"Do they argue with you too?" I asked.

"Only when trying to force me to eat broccoli. Other than that no, not really" he said and I nodded.

I didn't really mind the arguing if I were being completely honest. It's so different from how I used to live. It was quiet all the time when I lived with Mama. She would be out all day and it would just be me by myself so hearing everyone chatting or arguing was a nice change.

It didn't feel as lonely.

"What?! But you said you would!" Ares' cry broke me out of my thoughts and I saw him talking with Lucas.

"I never said I would switch with you. You must have made that up in your head" Lucas said and Ares groaned.

"Please, I'll do anything! I can't take listening to Roman's old people station for another twenty minutes" Ares said and Lucas shrugged at him before getting back into Lance's car.

Once I got into the car, Roman locked the doors and I looked at him confused since Ares still wasn't in the car.

Ares seemed to notice this as well once he tried to open the door. He pointed at the door and Roman rolled the window just enough so that they could talk.

"Unlock the door" Ares said.

"Sorry, there's no space for you" Roman said and Ares' eyes widened.

"What the hell are you talking about? I'm looking at my seat open right now!" He exclaimed and Kade snickering really set him off.

"Hardy har har, now open the fucking door it's freezing" Ares said.

"I think you're gonna have to walk it" Roman said before rolling up his window and pulling off.

Even though I really shouldn't have, I couldn't help but smile a little.

This just confirmed for me that they were all definitely very close. I just hoped that I could also be that close with them someday.

Oh, and if you're wondering, Roman never did go back for Ares.

Just kidding....or am I?
