#2. Bonds Of Love

Love is not only limited to couples or among the members of a family. Sometimes, some relations go beyond blood, and the bonds formed are beautiful. Such bonds work on the basics of love and effort. You need to put in a little effort and the relationship blossoms. Two pretty girls share such thoughts. Their bond is one of a kind. They're of the same kind and share many things in common. They have arguments and banter, but their love for each other overpowers all the negativity.

It's a fine day. A young girl enters the premises of Blue Moon Society, which is her home. She's home after jogging in the Jogger's Park. She unlocks her flat and enters inside the flat. Her mother is not at home, and so, she's all alone. As she switches on the lights, another girl, almost of her age, pounces on her, taking her by surprise.

"Nitya! You're back?" the girl is surprised.

"Yeah, only for you!" Nitya winks at her.

She's Ishika Mehra, the owner of the flat, and the other girl is her best friend, Nitya Malhotra. The latter had gone somewhere, and Ishika didn't expect her to be home anytime soon, so she is staring at her, trying to believe that her friend is with her truly.

"Tujhe fursat mil gayi mere liye? Tu gayi nahi all girls' trip pe, uss Maanya ke sath?" Ishika makes a face.

"Kaise jaati? Tujhe naraaz karke jaati toh mera bhi mann nahi lagta. Isliye maine usko keh diya ki main nahi jaungi. Maine usse kaha tha ki vo tujhe invite kare, par usey nahi karna tha., huh! Toh maine bhi mana kar dia." Nitya scoffs.

"Achchaa! Really? Vaise toh tu bahut excited thi uske saath jaane ke liye." Ishika asks.

"Haan, lekin mera mann hi nahi hua. Aur phir Ma bhi toh nahi thi, tu akeli bore ho jaati na." Nitya reasons, while Ishika knows that the second reason isn't true.

It's been quite some time, that Maanya and Ishika aren't on good terms while Nitya has always supported Ishika in her decisions. Ishika now looks at her friend who's holding two coffee mugs in her hands. She follows one towards Ishika and the two friends sit in silence for some good minutes. Meanwhile, in an instant, Ishika screams a little and she holds her left arm with her right hand. A scream escapes her mouth and that averts Nitya's attention on her friend.

"Kya hua, Ishu? Tu chillai kyun?"

"Nitu, phir se...wahi..."

"Phir se? Ishu, kyun?"

"Kyun hota hai ye dard tujhe? Bata Ishu!"

Nitya asks and starts folding her sleeve. There's a mark on her left arm and it often pains immensely. Right now, the pain is intense such that tears trickle down her eyes, and she starts breathing heavily. Nitya pulls her in a hug, trying to calm her. She offers her some water from the side table and then Ishika finally calms down.

"Ishu, ye sab kya hai? Jab se tune mujhe iss nishaan ke baare mein bataya hain, maine notice kiya hain ki tujhe din mein bhi kayi baar dard hota hai, kya hai ye?" Nitya asks, she's concerned for her friend.

"Nahi pata, mujhe kuch nahi pata yaar. Mumma se puchti hoon toh vo kuch batati hi nahi hai." Ishika says, her voice heavy with tears.

"Kabhi kabhi bahut tez dard hota hain, itna ki sehen nahi hota. Aur kabhi kabhi lagta hai jaise koi mujhe yaad kar raha hain ya koi mujhe bula raha hain. Main nahi jaanti ye kyun hota hain? Aur main kuch kar bhi nahi paati."

"Aur ek baat bataun?" Ishika looks at Nitya, who motions her to speak.

"Jab kabhi main iss nishan par apna haath ferti hoon na toh mujhe ek ajeeb se apnepan ka ehsas hota hain. Jaise koi hai kahin, mujhse door par mera hi hissa. Ek ajeeb sa sukoon milta hain, aisa lagta hain jaise main akeli nahi hoon." Ishika says.

"This is weird, Ishu. Lekin ye kyun hota hain uska pata toh lagana padega. Kuch toh baat hain jo Ma tujhse chhupa rahi hain." Nitya says, while looking at the scar on her arm.

"Mujhe toh khud kuch samajh nahi aa raha, Nitu. Main kya karu? Maa se jab iss nishaan ke baare mein puchti hoon , wo kehti hain bas birthmark hain. Par main jaanti hoon ki baat kuch aur hain." Ishika says.

"Haan, Ishu. Hum pata lagayenge. Zindagi mein jitni mysteries hoti hain na utna hi mazaa bhi aata hain. Main hoon na tere sath. Tu chinta mat kar." Nitya tries to console her.

Ishika stares at Nitya, and then pulls her in a hug, a much-needed one.

"Thanks, Nitu, agar tu nahi hoti naa, toh pata nahi mera kya hota? Jo baat main Ma se nahi kar sakti , vo tujhe bol deti hoon. I am sorry, main janti hoon kabhi kabhi tu mujhse irritate ho jaati hain na?" Ishika parts the hug and looks at her friend.

"Chupp! Kuch bhi bolti rehti hain. Dost toh hote hi isliye hain ki unhe pareshan kia jaye. Isliye toh main rozz aa jati hoon yahan, Ma ke haath ka khana mil jaata hain aur tu mere sare nakhre jhelti hain." Nitya jokes.

"Tu bhi toh wahi karti hai na! Sach mein dost bhi parivar hi hote hain, aur agar tere jaise dost ho naa, toh zindagi aasan ho jati hain." Ishika opens her heart in front of her.

Meanwhile, A streak of pain runs through Ishika's arms again, but Nitya held her arm tightly, to reduce the intensity, but it still leaves Ishika breathless. Even Nitya can't understand the mystery, it's something that's beyond their understanding, but these two have promised to help each other.

As Ishika calms down, Nitya looks at her friend and smiles warmly. It's time to bid goodbye to her. Work calls! Nitya is a journalist and content head at a well-known media and news agency. She came here to check on her girl pal, but now, it's time to part ways.

"Are you okay, Ishu? Main jaun?" Nitya asks.

"Nitu, tu meri chinta mat kar, this is usual. Tu jaa, tujhe toh 9 baje report karna hota hai na?" Ishika asks.

"Haan, isliye main abhi nikal rahi hoon, main tujhse shaam ko milungi." Nitya says and Ishika agrees.

They hug each other and part ways. Nitya leaves for her office while Ishika begins to get ready for the day. She's a fashion designer and she works in partnership with a friend, who holds the same passion as her. There's still time to go to the office, and she has to meet someone before she leaves for the office. She made a promise after all.

As Ishika moves into the washroom, her eyes fell on her mark again in the mirror. She touches it and she feels a little relief in her pain and a sense of belonging.

She's further determined to find out the truth, for, it needs to be unveiled.
