Vineet reached his office after a quarrel with his wife, Ruhana, and hearing a scolding from his daughter, Ruhaani. He was sad with the morning incident.

His daughter blurted out everything in front of his mother and he couldn't clarify anything. He sat on his chair and was lost in his thoughts. He was sad that no one heard him. His trance was broken when his manager entered  and reminded him about the meeting. He sighed and then checked the pointers as they got ready for the meeting.

Ahuja Mansion

The day passed and Vineet reached home. It was 7 pm. Ruhaani was running behind her mother…

"mumma, chocolate cake do." she asked.

"No! Pehle homework finish karo." Ruhana said.

"No! Pehle choco!" Ruhaani said adamantly.

Ruhana eyed her…

"First finish your homework. Uske baad milega cake. Ye Maine Ruhaani ke liye hi banaya hai." She said.

Ruhaani glared at her mother..
"pehle cake do." she asked adamantly.

"Apne papa ki tarah aankhen nahi dikhao. Dono baap beti ek jaise hai, ziddi!" Ruhana murmured.

"I'm not like papa. Ruhaani is a good girl." Ruhaani said and ran out of the kitchen.

Vineet saw her running, and asked..

"Kya hua?" he asked.

Ruhaani glared at him…
"I'm not talking to you, daddy!" she said and sat beside her grandma and started doing her homework.

Vineet was surprised. He moved to his room and freshened up. He moved into the kitchen smelling the delicious aroma of coffee. Ruhana passed him his cup of coffee. He found the chocolate cake placed in a corner. He forwards his hand to take a piece, but Ruhana slaps his hand…

"Stay back. Wo tumhare liye nahi hai." she said.

He pouts looking at her…

"how unfair.  Mujhe bhook lagi hai" he said innocently.

"toh! Wait and drink your coffee. Cake pehle meri beti khayegi uske baad milega tumko. Chalo niklo bahar." she pushed him out of the kitchen.

He moved into the living room and sat on the sofa. His mother looked at him..

"kya hua? Itna pareshan kyun hai tu?" She asked.

"Kuch nahi maa." he answered sipping his coffee.

"Dadi, papa is sad" she giggled.

Vineet glared at her…

"tumhe kyun maza aa raha hai?" he asked.

"Kyunki aaj se wahi hoga jo main bolungi." she smiled at her father.

For Vineet, her smile was not less than an evil one. His daughter said that she'll not include him anywhere,and he thought that she will forget it. But now it seems that  things are going to be hard for him. He sighed and at the same time his phone rang and he went into the garden to attend it.

When he came back, he found his mother and daughter already seated on the dining table. He took his place. He was about to take a piece of the cake, when the little girl pulled the bowl towards herself…

"Ye Ruhaani ka hai. Daddy ko nahi milega." she said.

"Arey kyun? Mumma ne ruhaani aur daddy dono ke liye banaya hai." Vineet reasoned.

The little girl eyed her father…

"Bas ruhaani ke liye banaya hai mumma ne. Aapko cake khana hai toh apni mumma ko bolo, i mean dadi ko." she said.

Vineet was left with an open mouth while Ruhana was laughing. He looked at her innocently at which she just smiled. He sighed and served food for himself. Ruhaani was talking to her grandma, and Vineet wasn't getting a chance to speak. Ruhana was enjoying the situation.

He tapped on her leg under the table, at which Ruhana stamped her foot on his. A sigh escaped his lips and it broke Kaushalya's trance.

"kya hua vineet!" she asked.

"Kuch nahi maa, lagta hai kisi keede ne kaat liya hai. Barish ka mausam hai na, ho sakta hai andar aagaye ho." he replied while glancing at Ruhana.

Ruhana was smiling pursing her lips firmly. She was enjoying his irritation, he finished his food and turned news on the tv. Kaushalya took Ruhaani to her room, as it was a ritual that she used to narrate a story to her granddaughter, until her mother got free from her chores.

Ruhana was winding up her work, when Vineet stood behind her placing his hands on her waist.

"Vineet hato, mujhe kaam hai." she said.

" tumhari beti ne mujhe chocolate cake nahi khane diya. Now i need my chocolate." he said.

"Fridge mein hai na chocolate, kha lo." she said and jerked him.

He looked at her and she giggled..

"this is unfair!" he said.

"Everything is fair na Vineet." she winked at him.

"ye jo tum dono kar rahe ho, it is wrong." He complained.

"galti tumhari hai. Na tum Ruhaani se jhooth bolte, na wo sab kuch maa ke saamne kehti." she said.

"arey toh wo maan nahi rahi thi na." he spoke innocently.

"han tumhari beti hai na, tumhari tarah ziddi hai" Ruhana commented and moved out of the kitchen.

Vineet followed her… "Arey tum toh samjho." he said.

"Kya samjhun? Mujhe nahi samajhna. I'm tired." she said.

"I'll help you relax." Vineet said holding her hands.

Meanwhile, Ruhaani came out stretching her arms towards Ruhana. She lifted her daughter in her arms…

"mumma, we'll play game na?" she asked.

"yes baby!" Ruhana said.

Ruhaani chuckled… "Then jaldi chalo." She said.

Ruhana walked inside the room, and descended Ruhaani on the bed. She stood up on the bed, she was already in her nightsuit, her grandma might have helped her change. Ruhana makes her sit..

"yahin baitho, mumma change karke aati hai, fir hum khelenge." she said.

Ruhaani nods her head, meanwhile Vineet comes inside the rain, but Ruhaani shouts.

" Daddy, stop!"

Vineet looked at her…

"Ab kya hua?" he asked.

"aap andar nahi aa sakte." She said descending from the bed..

"arey par ye toh mera room hai na." he asked.

"Lekin aaj se Idhar Ruhaani aur mumma hi soyenge. No boys." she said.

Ruhana also came out. Vineet looked at her…

"ruhana please isey samjhao." he said helplessly.

"no! Aap fir se mumma ko dantoge.." Ruhaani said.

Ruhana laughed. Vineet looked at her with open mouth…

"baby maine mumma ko nahi danta." he said.

"daanta tha. Isliye ab se aap Idhar nahi rahoge.." Ruhaani declared.

"yaar kya tum has rahi ho? Samjhao na isey.. Acha main kisi ko kuch nahi bolunga." he gave up.

Ruhana giggled, while his daughter glared at him

"no! Abhi aap idhar nahi so sakte. Aap jao aapki mumma ke paas. Good night " Ruhaani said and pushed him out of the room.

Ruhana was laughing and Ruhaani ran inside and came back with a pillow in her hand.

"ye lo. Abhi jao dadi ke pass. Meri mumma ko pareshan nahi karo aap." Ruhaani said and rushed into the room.

Ruhana was laughing at his situation. She cupped his face…

"Sorry mister pati. Now this is your punishment." she said meaningfully, watching him.

Vineet sighed sadly,as he heard his daughter's voice calling for her mother.

"papa, go to dadi. She is waiting." she shouted.

Vineet has to leave the room, while both the mother daughter have a good time and Ruhaani falls asleep cuddling her mother.

Ruhana rests her head on the backrest, and she hears a certain sound, and Vineet enters in. His lips quirked up in a smile, as he saw both his girls. He relaxes  on the bed and Ruhana keeps her head on his shoulder, and he kisses their forehead, and they sleep off. They argued, had fun and were together again.
