#2 SaGel-Ruhi : Finding Her Mum

Khanna House

Sachin Khanna, a businessman by profession, lived with his daughter,Ruhi Khanna. She wasn't his daughter biologically, but he had adopted her. Ruhi was now 6 years old. Sachin used to drop her to school, then in the afternoon, the maid, he appointed for his daughter, took her from school and take her home. She was a silent girl, but only until Sachin wasn't home.

It was another business day. Sachin had a busy day with meetings lined up in a row. He didn't even realised the time, until his phone rang. It was from his friend, Angel Oberai, she was an advocate by profession, and she had helped him getting Ruhi's adoption formalities done.

"Kya baat hai Angel, is waqt kyun phone kiya?" be asked.

"Where are you?" she asked.

"angel office mein fasa hua hoon. Lekin tumne kyun phone kiya?" he asked.

"We are waiting jldi aao." Ruhi said, over the phone.

Angel smiled... "Dekho Sachin, jaldi aa jao. Koi bahut naraaz hai." she said.

"Main aata hoon aadhe ghante mein." he said and disconnected the call.

Angel turned to the little girl...

"papa busy hai na, aisa phone kyun karvaya aapne?" she asked.

Ruhi glared at her..

"Sab busy hai. Koi mujhe pyar nahi karta. Aur aap bhi nahi aati milne." she complained.

"sorry baby, main busy thi. Lekin dekho aaj aayi na!" angel said.

"Ruhi ne call kiya tab. Nahi toh aap sirf daddy se milne aate ho." the girl said grumpily.

"Arey baba... Itna Gussa ho!" angel asked.

"Han very angry. Papa se bhi aur aunty se bhi." Ruhi declared.

"Aur papa baat bhi nahi maante na Ruhi ki." Ruhi said.

Angel smiled... "Acha kaunsi baat nahi mani papa ne?" she asked.

Ruhi glared at her...
"Papa ko aane do, fir bataungi." she said crossing her arms around her chest.

Angel smiled... "Acha thik hai! Tum baitho, main aati hoon." She said.

"Kahin nahi jana aapko. Baitho Idhar." she pushed her lightly.

Angel looked at her... "Daddy se gussa ho na, mujhse kyun?" she asked.

"Kyunki aap daddy ki side lete ho. Meri nahi sunte aap." she complained.

Angel laughed at her innocent complaints. Though, her anger was obvious. Sachin was busy in his office, and since Ruhi started her school, he was a little free to concentrate on his office work. Angel was busy with her job, being a lawyer and she could make to visit both Sachin and Ruhi, late at night, but the little girl would be slept by then.

Today, Ruhi made her nanny call Angel and called her at her home. She was angry with Sachin and wanted to make Angel be at her side. She wanted Angel to scold Sachin, that too, for no reason.

Ruhi's trance was broken by some delicious aroma. She found a bowl of noodles placed in front of her. Joy twinkled in her eyes...

"Noodles!!" she chuckled.

"Haan, ab ye noodles khao, aur gussa nahi karo. Samjhe!!" she said.

"Lekin I'm still angry with daddy." ruhi eyed her.

Angel smiled.. "acha baba! Papa pe gussa nikaal lena. Noodles toh kha lo." she said.

Ruhi nodded, meanwhile, they could hear a car horn. Faces of both the girls lit up. Angel moved to open the door while ruhi was busy eating her noodles. Sachin entered in and he was surprised to find Angel there.

" Angel tum yahan? " sachin asked.

"Han tumhari beti ne bulaya." she said.

"Kyun? Kya hua?" he looked at the little girl.

"Main naraaz hoon aapse." ruhi said eyeing him.

Sachin was baffled...

"Huh! Maine kya kiya ab?" he asked.

"Aap ruhi ki baat nahi maante." Ruhi said.

"Aur meri bhi nahi." Angel said as she said beside Ruhi.

Sachin looked at both the girls...
"Kya nahi maana?" he asked.

"Aap late ghar aate ho." ruhi said.

"Kaam se fursat kahan tumhe!" Angel complained.

"hume ghumaane nahi le jate." Ruhi said.

Angel smiled at the complaint. Sachin eyed her...

"Kya angel tum bhi iske sath mil gayi? Very bad!" he said.

"Wo hamesha aapki side nahi lengi. Abse wo meri side legi." ruhi chuckled.

"Par wo dost meri hai na." sachin said.

"Par wo meri mumma hai na." Ruhi said innocently.

In that innocence, she said something that surprised both Angel and Sachin. She's not aware of what she just spoke. Sachin glanced at Ruhi.

"kya bola tumne?" he asked.

"Wohi bola daddy, jo aapne suna. Lekin aap meri baat nahi maante." she complained.

Sachin doesn't know what to say. Did his daughter said what he really wanted or was it something that he or Angel didn't want to admit. Angel and Sachin looked at each other ...

"I'm sorry Angel. I don't know, isne aisa kyun bola." he said.

"ruhi ne kuch galat nahi bola. Wo Ruhi ke liye toys laati hai, aur mujhse bahut sara pyar bhi karti hai. Aur unhone aapka bhi dhyan rakha tha, jab aapko bukhaar tha." ruhi said looking at them.

Angel smiled. The little girl said something that was true to her heart. She liked Sachin since they were college best friends. Finding Ruhi and then till adopting her, Angel had been a great help to Sachin. But being with the little girl, Angel decided to stay silent with her feelings.

Meanwhile, Sachin was lost in thoughts. He knew Angel since a long time. But he hadn't thought that he could spend a lifetime with her. Now that he was a father to a little girl, he wasn't sure that his best friend would be interested in him.

Their trance were broken by Ruhi's voice...

"Aur waise bhi wo chashme wali aunty ruhi ko nahi pasand." she said making her face.

Sachin was confused... "Huh! Uska nam puja hai... Ye Kya naam de rakhe hai." he scolded Ruhi.

She giggled... "Wo chashme wali aunty hai. Aur wo muh banati rehti hai." she said imitating that female colleague of Sachin.

"Aur wo photo wali bhi achi nahi hai. Dadi ki choice is so boring. Unko kuch nahi aata. " ruhi said.

Sachin couldn't help but smile at his daughter...
"Aur tumhe kya aata hai?" he asked.

Ruhi glanced at him... "Ruhi ko sab pata hai." she said.

Angel laughed. She was listening every word that the girl was saying. She didn't like his colleague and then some pictures that his mother might have sent, Ruhi rejected them too.

She sat beside Ruhi.... "Acha tumne sabke naam rakhe hai toh mera naam kya hai?" she asked.

"Aap toh achi ho." she said kissing on her cheek.

"acha ji! Lekin tumhare daddy ko achi nhi lagi toh?" she asked.

"Lagti ho na. Aap papa ki friend ho na. Aur aap ruhi ko bhi pasand ho." Ruhi said, cuddling closer to Angel.

Angel patted Ruhi's head.. Sachin was watching them.
"Acha toh kya chahiye Ruhi ko?" he asked.

She held Angel's hand... "mumma! Afterall ruhi ki mumma ko good looking, aur sweet aur ruhi ki tarah cute hona chahiye." she said.

"Lekin koi maane tab na!" Sachin said.

"jab aap bologe, tab hi wo maanengi na papa." ruhi said.

Angel gazed at Sachin and smiled. They were lost in their professions, so much so, that they hadn't put their feelings to each other. Though they came closer, after Ruhi's arrival.

"sorry Angel. I think jo main nahi samajh saka, wo Ruhi ne samajh liya." he said.

"isliye kehti hoon tumhari beti tumse zyada samajhdar hai. Lekin kaha toh maine bhi nahi." Angel said.

"Toh do you agree with Ruhi? I mean thoda meri biwi banke, baaki Ruhi ki mumma banke, mere sath zindagi guzarna chahogi?" he asked.

Angel giggled.. "ofcourse, itni pyari bachi ko kaun mana kar sakta hai. Else you have to manage with us." she said as she held Ruhi's hand

"hume pizza khana hai,hai na ruhi!" angel said teasingly.

"Yesh! Main aur mumma pizza khayenge, and papa ko nahi denge." ruhi said.

"Arey par kyun? Maine sab baat maani na ruhi ki?" sachin asked.

"No you were late. Isliye no pizza for daddy." ruhi declared.

Angel was giggling while Sachin was standing there helplessly, because he knew he won't be saved now, for both mother and daughter were together now. Though he was happy for now that his life seemed complete. His trance was broken by a touch, it was Angel...

"Hume toh milna hi tha. Bas humare milne ka zariya koi aur tha, hamari beti!" she said.

Sachin smiled.. "i agree,Mrs. Khanna! Main kal hi maa se baat karta hoon.." he said as he kissed her head, and she hugged him.

"Aap dono ruhi ko bhul gaye, very bad." the little girl brought them back from their moment.

Sachin lifted her in his arms...

"Bhala ruhi ko hum kaise bhul sakte hai." he said as they kissed her either cheeks, while Ruhi smiled, her family was now complete.
