the tell

"You know, I have a life, too." Scott says as he stands on top of the movie rental building, where the alpha had just attacked, with Derek and Kendra. "No, you don't." Derek says while shaking his head, making Kendra jab her elbow into his ribs. "Yes, I do! I don't care what you say about him making me his pet or–" Scott says but was cut off by Derek. "Part of his pack." Derek said impatiently, making the teen sigh. "Whatever. I have homework to do. I have to go to a parent-teacher conference tomorrow because I'm failing chemistry." Scott said.

"Do you want to do homework? Or do you want to not die?" Derek shot back, impatiently making Kendra sigh and shake her head, she knew the way Derek was going, it wasn't going to end well. "You have less than a week until the full moon. You don't kill with him? He kills you." Derek informs him. "Okay, seriously, who made up these rules?" Scott said exasperatedly. "It's a rite of passage into his pack." Kendra says coming to stand halfway in between them, so she can look at both Derek and Scott.

"You know what else is a rite of passage? Graduating from high school! And you don't have to kill anyone to do it!" Scott shouts angrily, making Kendra pinch the bridge of her nose. She knew Scott was having a hard time now, but sooner or late he'd get the hang of it. "Why can't you just find him yourself? You've got Mrs. Roswell, Why can't you just sniff him out when he's a human?" Scott says with a sigh.

"Because his human scent could be entirely different. It has to be you. You have a connection with him, a link that you can't understand. If I can teach you to control your abilities, you can find him, plus Ken's not a wolf, she can't help me like you can." Derek says impatiently. "So, if I help you...you can stop him?" Scott asked but Derek shook his head. "Not alone. You're stronger in numbers. A pack makes the individual more powerful." Kendra said as Derek nodded in agreement.

"How am I supposed to help if I have no idea what I'm doing?" Scott asked, confused. "Because I'm gonna teach you." Derek said, hoping Scott would let him help. "Do you remember what happened that first night you were shot in the arm? Right after you were hit?" Derek asked, "Yeah. I changed back." Scott said, not knowing where this was going. "And when you were hit by his car, same thing, right? What's the common denominator?" Dereka asked. "What the hell are you doing?" Scott asked, groaning. "It'll heal." Derek said nonchalantly. "It still hurt!" Scott said in defense. "And that's what keeps you human-- pain." Derek said. "Maybe you will survive." Derek added, impressed

How Lydia found out today was the twins' birthdays, Blair will never know. She knew Allison had skipped with Scott, so she decided to stay, because if Allison was skipping someone needed to get the work for her. Blair was getting her books from her locker when Stiles came up to her, she didn't know why. "Hey, uh... i... heard it was your, uh, birthday, so happy birthday." Stiles stuttered out as Blair stared at him, not all that confused on how he knew, Scott must've told him it was Allison's birthday, which meant it was Blairs too. "Yeah, thanks. I'm seventeen." She said, She didn't care if she was a year older.

"Woah! Uh, seventeen huh?" Stiles said nervously, making her smile lightly but she knew she had to get to class so she shut her locker. "Thank you for the, uh, birthday wishes, but I've gotta get to class." Blair said softly making Stiles nod as she waved him bye before walking away, he watched her go around the corner before letting out a breath, he knew he liked Lydia since forever but... maybe moving on wouldn't hurt.

"Let me tell you, there's plenty to say about Lydia." Kendra said as she sat in front of Lydia Martin's parents. "Did I not predict this?" Mr. Martin said with a sigh, causing Natalie to look at him. "Here we go! Total nuclear meltdown, as usual." Natalie said making Kendra look between them anxious, she knew they fought.

"What is it? Her grades? Concentration issues? Erratic behavior?" Mr. Martin said, turning to Kendra. "I'm not the one who told her she had to choose who she wants to live with! As if that wouldn't warp a sixteen-year-old girl." Natalie said in defense of their daughter. "Just tell us what the problem is." Mr. Martin said with a sigh, making Kendra frown.

"I wasn't aware that there was a problem actually, academically, Lydia's one of the finest students I've ever had. Her AP scores push her GPA above a 5.0. I'd actually like to have her IQ tested. And socially, she displays outstanding leadership qualities. I mean, she's a real leader." Kendra said, proud of her student as Natalie looked at her ex-husband with a smug smile.

To say Kendra was nervous was an understatement. Parent teacher interviews with Allison's parents, the Argents. "I think we can agree to keep this professional, and just about how our daughters are doing." Chris said as he and Victoria sat down in front of Kendra who nodded with a small weary smile. "Yeah." she mumbled before clearing her throat.

"Okay, Blair Argent, sweetest student i've had in years, and i know, along with her sister, she has been adjusting well, and despite the moving, she's quick to make friends, which does help with being a new kid." Kendra paused, sending a smile to the parents before continuing. "Allison Argent, also, an incredibly sweet girl, and quick to adjust, despite all the moving around, tends to stick close to Blair but i think that's them being twins and not knowing many people." Kendra said.

"We know it's hard on her and her sister, but, uh...it's a necessary evil." Chris said, making Kendra nod. "Necessary or not, I'd be prepared for some...how do I put this...?" Kendra said awkwardly as she looked for the right word. "Rebelliousness?" Chris said, filling in the blank as Kendra nodded. "We appreciate the concern, but we have a great relationship with our daughters, very open and honest." Victoria said tensely.

"I'm happy to hear that. And let Allison know that I hope she's feeling better." Kendra said with a smile as she closed the Argent twins folders, not noticing the frowns on Chris and Victoria's face. "Oh, she wasn't in class?" Chris said, frowning, making Kendra lookup, surprised as her eyebrows creased. "Oh, she wasn't in school. I checked with the office." Kendra said as she looked between the parents as they shared a look before leaving.

Blair was in her room when her door opened, she turned to see her parents, making her lightly confused. "What's going on?" she asked, confused. "We know it's been a long day, we've given Allison her present, despite skipping school, so now it's time to give you yours." Chris says as he slowly pulls his hand from back, revealing a small black kitten in his hand making Blair gasp and jump from her bed to get it from her dad. "Oh my god, it's so cute, where'd you get him?" Blair asked as the kitten snuggled into her neck as she held it and looked at her parents with a smile.

"Went down to the pet store while you were at school, and I know I don't need to tell you this, but this cat is your responsibility, you feed it, you take care of it, okay?" Victoria said, her eyes softening lightly as Blair nodded her head. "I promise." she said as she slowly held the cat in the air before walking to bed and putting it down, making sure it wouldn't run away or fall, before turning and hugging her parents. "Thank you," she said, before heading back to her bed and putting the kitten on her chest as her parents watched her with a smile before leaving.
