Tai opened the door as he let himself inside the room. He saw his son on the bed cuddle up to Agumon's side and he could clearly hear him sniffle.

"Son, we need to talk"

Tai said as he went to sit on the edge of the bed.

"Do you want me to give you both privacy?"

Agumon asked. Tai smiled and shook his head.

"No you could stay"

He said as he opened his arms to his son signaling him to come to his arms. Tai Jr sat on his father's lap.

"Dad nothing you say can ever make me like your girlfriend"

He said with a glare. Tai let out a sigh.

"I know son, but I'm not talking about that. All I ask is for you to show a bit more respect to her. She hasn't done anything wrong from what I've seen for you to behave like that"

"But she's trying to take your heart. Don't you care about mom?"

He said sadly.

"I care about her only because she's your mother but I love Paige more"

"I don't like her"

"I know I can't change your mind but please try to be more nicer to her"

"Why can't she go to her own family?"

Tai let out another sigh.

"She did had her own family at one time but it was taken away"

"What happen?"

He asked curiously.

"I think its best that you hear it from her and again try to be more nicer to her okay"

"I'll try"

"Come on then, you too Agumon"

Tai said as he stood up carrying his son and Agumon followed behind as they went out the room and into the livingroom where Paige was sitting om the couch. Paige smiled as she saw them, Tai placed his son in between him and Paige while Agumon sat on the armrest next to Tai. Paige smiled at the toddler.

"Hello again"

She said. Tai Jr gave her a serious look.

"My Dad told me that you had a family before and they were taken away. What happened?"

He asked. Paige's smile disappeared and looked up at her boyfriend.

"You told him?"

"He wanted to know and I couldn't lie to him"

"You sure he's ready for to hear it?"

"I want to know!"

The toddler yelled from being ignored. Paige looked at him and let out a sigh.

"Okay then. The truth is before I met your Dad, I was married and I had a 3yr old daughter."

She said slowly, she stopped for she can think of her words more carefully to explain and the memories were coming back bring tears to her eyes.

"My husband and I always argued because he was constantly cheating on me. One day, we had another argument, he took our daughter with him and drove off. I tried contacting my husband but he wouldn't answer his phone. I called the police to tell them that my husband kidnapped my daughter. A few weeks went by and the polices showed up to my door and told me that they found my daughter and husband in a cliff"

She said sadly as she wiped her tears. Tai Jr didn't know what to say, he didn't expect this, he was now starting to feel guilty for ever treating her badly.

"But since I met your Dad he made me happy and I know I made him happy too and when he told me he had a son, I was thrilled to meet you. I know you wasn't expecting this to ever happen..."

She said but was cut off from a tight hug that was thrown at her. Paige gasp and sadly smiled as she closed her eyes and hugged back. Tai Jr was feeling so bad for his Dad's girlfriend and he knew their was no way to say how sorry he was so instead he caught her by surprise by giving her a hug, in which she happily returned. After a while they pulled apart, Paige looked at the toddler with a smile.

"I'm sorry"

He said sadly.

"Its okay, if I was in your shoes and someone was dating my Dad, I would be mad too"

Tai Jr smiled at her.

"So do you think you can give me a chance?"

She asked. Tai Jr happily smiled and nodded as he stretched out his hand to Paige.

"Hi my name is Tai"

Paige smiled and shook his hand.

"Hi Tai my name is Paige please to meet you"

Tai smiled as he saw his son and girlfriend happily interact together. Tai Jr leaned towards Paige and whisper.

"Does this mean I get another present?"

He asked in a whisper for his Dad won't hear but he didn't know he wasn't really whispering and Tai heard him loud and clear. Paige smiled.

"Here"

She said as she retrieve a key from her bag and handed it to him. Tai Jr was disappointed.

"Another key?"

"Its not just a key its a key of adventure"

"What does it open?"

He asked as he looked at the key. Paige smirk.

"Just stay holding on to it and I will let you know when the time is right"

She said. Tai Jr was about to ask another question but instead let out a yawn and rubbed his eyes sleepily.

"Okay that's enough for now, its time for bed kiddo"

Tai said.

"Let me take him too bed"

Agumon happily offered. Tai nodded and kissed his son on the forehead before handling him to Agumon who took him to the room. Once Agumon was out of sight and closed the door. Tai quickly grabbed Paige and pulled her into a tight hug as she let out a sob as tears began to fall.

"I'm sorry, Paige, really I am. I just didn't want to lie to him"

"I understand. Just hold me"

She cried softly for Agumon and Tai Jr wouldn't hear. The truth was that Paige's husband was actually abusive to her and would beat her everyday until one day she had a enough and called the police but her husband took their daughter into the car and drove away. The police officers actually found the car in a near by gas station and there inside the car was the child and her husband dead with bullets to their head and her husband was holding the gun.
