"Get help." Eric called to David. He had fallen into a trap in the ground and was sprawled on the ground.

"I don't think the cameras work!" David said, waving his hands in front of it desperately.

"Try another one" Eric suggested. Then he winced in pain.

"Are you ok?" David asked, moving back to the hold to see.

"I think I broke my leg." Eric said.

David sat down and put his head in his hands. "I shouldn't have let you lead the way."

"It's a game. You can't expect anything dangerous here, so don't blame yourself." Eric said.

"After we passed that passage with marbles scattered on the ground and shards of glass hidden in the hedge, I should have realized it is not an ordinary game." David said looking around desperately. He had sustained a bloody nose after running straight into the passage with loose marbles on the floor and falling.

Suddenly they heard some strange sounds followed by the hedge moving.

David positioned himself defensively in front of the hole Eric fell into.

Soon a pair of hands popped out of the hedge and then a head.

"Sophie!" David exclaimed running forward to help her come through.

"David! I'm so glad you are ok." Sophie said pulling him into an awkward hug through the hedge. "Where is Eric?"

"Down here! I fell." Eric's voice came from the hole in the ground.

"He broke his leg, and I couldn't get help. None of these cameras seem to be working." David said, looking upset with himself.

Meanwhile Sophie managed to get out of the hedge and straightened up. She had severe cuts and scrapes all over her face and hands. She was also barefooted and bleeding from the sole of her feet.

"What happened to you?" David gasped.

"Superglue flooring. It took everything I had not to fall face down." Sophie said wiping her face. "I couldn't go anywhere and after I took off my shoes I lost my balance and accidentally put my foot down for support. The only thing left to do was to dig a way out from the hedge."

"I thought it was against the rules to do that." David said in a small voice.

"At this point I really don't care. This is far too dangerous for a game. Let's find Dana and your parents and get out of here." Sophie said looking around for an exit.

"How? Eric has been stuck down there for about an hour." David said.

Sophie pursed her lips. She wondered if this was a game or something worse. However she did not share her thoughts and scare the boys.

"Give me your jacket, David." She said, taking off hers. She had a plan to help Eric at least.

Aaron was watching the boys through the camera. They were in a secret underground room which led to John's torture chamber.

There were several big screens covering a wall and some computers facing it. This was the place they controlled the obstacles in the maze and choose their victims.

David kept appearing in different screens, waving at the camera desperately seeking help.

Aaron met David on one occasion when David helped him sneak out of the house after a sleep over with Dana. This of course came with a price, a new video game.

At the time Dana seemed worth all the trouble. She would be very cooperative and was never the type to stop him having a good time. That was until he decided to move on with his life. Now she was like a virus he could not get rid of.

John was right. Hurting her family was a pretty brilliant way to get her to him and then he will finish her off.

"Have you located the father?" John said, interrupting his train of thought.

"I'm a bit busy with her brothers." Aaron said without taking his eyes off the screen.

"I got one of the mothers. I can't find the other." Helen said. She joined them soon after John told her about their plan to capture Dana's family.

"She is with the brothers. Look at them trying to help that boy out of the hole." Aaron said with a sadistic smile.

"They have been there for hours. Close that hole, it might force them to move on." John suggested, getting impatient. He was waiting from the text from Cristy. She was on the mission to find Adam. But it's been hours and still no text.

"Maybe I should have sent Helen with her." He thought. His wife was a very capable woman. Surely together they could find Adam.

"Nah, let them get him out." Aaron said, eyes fixed on the screen, he did not even notice John checking his phone so much.

"I have plans for them." He added with a smile as he pushed a few buttons to set the next trap for the boys.

Alice was alone.

She was hoping to run into someone by now but she was lost and exhausted. So far there was nothing dangerous but she heard some screams and there was a lot of smoke that almost suffocated her.

She almost got trapped in a corner with an angry beehive. But she managed to squeeze out of it before the doors closed, trapping her inside. She got away with a few stings and some scraps from trying to get out of the door.

"What kind of game is this?" She wondered as she came across a bloody and smelly corpse. It had to be real but she couldn't look at it. The stench was so strong she was about to throw up.

Suddenly was a strange sound but instead of backing away she might bed forward. One hand on the hedge wall she made her way carefully through the smoke.

It was getting hard to breath. There were dark spots in her vision. She coughed and chocked and her eyes were watering.

To her relief she saw an opening at the end of the passage. At the end of that opening she could see outside the maze. She had found the exit.

Dragging herself to it as quickly as possible before she fainted she hoped her family got out too. She decided that the first thing she would do is shut down this maze because it was anything but fun.

The opening to the exit grew bigger and bigger. Alice's energy was pure adrenaline. She was going to be free!

Suddenly the Smoke was so thick she could not see her own feet. She tripped and felt like she was falling. She had no idea how long she was falling before she blacked out.

Sorry!! I know it's been over a week since my last update but I was so busy with work.

So this poor family is caught in the maze. How will they make it out without outside help? Dana seems to be in enough trouble herself.
