Dana sat with her brothers in the hotel restaurant. They had a good time ordering whatever they liked from the menu, even ice cream for breakfast. Dana was in no mood to protest. Her mind was on her father and the state he was in when she saw him. She always wanted her parents to treat her like an adult and include her in every discussion, but now she wished she could trade places with her brothers and just enjoy the morning, completely unaware of what happened upstairs.

It was 9 o'clock and she wanted to know what was happening, was her dad ok?

But she could not leave her brothers and she dint want to worry them so she just sat there and prayed. It was the second time she prayed in weeks. She suddenly felt she was growing up too fast and wanted to stop and be a child again.

"What are you going to have?" asked Eric, pushing the menu to her.

"I'm not hungry." Dana said, her stomach suddenly growled loudly.

"You're stomach says otherwise." said David, grinning. Dana dint say anything. She thought about what her mother said earlier, that her room was open. But she was very sure she locked her door. This means someone from the hotel tried to access her room and left it open, was it a coincidence that her father was behaving so strange and her room was broken into on the same day?

Soon her mothers joined them. Sophie pretended nothing was wrong and was laughing and talking with the boys. Alice quickly told Dana what had happened and then fell silent.

What a way to start their vacation.

It was time to meet the new captain. William excused himself from the young girl who was staring at the hedge.

He went straight to the captain's office and knocked on the door. He heard something move suddenly and then a few things fall to the ground. Then there was silence. William was about to knock again when the door opened.

"William, I had asked the manager to inform you that we will meet at 9 o'clock." said Captain Norman

"It is 9 o'clock sir." William said politely. Captain Norman quickly checked his watch and went red, then he gestured him to come in.

The office was a mess. There were stacks of files on the desk, one of which had fallen. There were lots of newspapers piled up on the cabinets. There was also a huge window that covered a wall, but the blinds were drawn so William couldn't see the view.

"So I hear you had a pretty eventful night." He said.

"I'm not sure what happened. One minuet we were talking and the next he attacked himself." William said.

"Attacked himself huh?" Captain Norman said, suspiciously. After looking at him for a moment, he pulled out a notepad and said "I would like you to write down a statement of the events of last night."

"What!" William said in outrage.

"Do you have a problem with that Mr. Cooper?"

William stared at him for a moment and then grabbed the notepad and pen and began scribbling down everything he remembered from the previous night. He was angry and his body language clearly showed it.

Once he was done, he put the notepad down in front of the captain a little more forcefully than he intended.

If Captain Norman was angered by William's attitude, he did not show it. He took the notepad and locked it in his desk without even looking at it.

"You will be taking the night shift, so use this day to catch up on sleep, you look like you need it. Or if you wish you could go around and get used to the place."

William nodded.

"From tomorrow, Training begins at 6AM which means you will be trading shifts 10 minutes before that. I have partnered you with Adam Davis. You will train together and work together and must have each other's backs. Once I know how good you are I shall fix a regular routine for you." Captain Norman said, the end of the sentence sounded like a dismissal so William got up to leave.

"One more thing Mr. Cooper" Captain Norman said as William reached the door. "I advise you to keep your temper under control, there are those who would use that to their advantage even if they didn't know your past."

William had no idea what to say. Was Captain Norman talking about the Leah and Gibbs incident or something that happened much earlier.

Danny sat on the end of his bed. He could not remember anything after he went to bed last night. Alice was in his room furious and was yelling at him for drinking. But he was sure he had only one drink.

He got up and immediately sat back down. The whole room began to spin. The side of his head was throbbing. Grabbing the glass of water beside his bed, he gulped it down, water spilling on his shirt. Feeling better, he washed his face and took a shower.

Feeling a lot better, he decided to get some breakfast.                                      

Everyone had already finished eating, they were just sitting at their table, discussing their plans for the holiday. Danny noticed Alice was quieter than usual. Throwing her an apologetic look, he sat opposite her.

"Dad! You can't sleep in on a holiday, why can't you do that on a school day?" Eric asked.

"Because then I wouldn't fulfill my duties as an annoying father." Danny laughed.

Sophie looked at Alice and then at Danny and then back at Alice. She seemed to realized what needed to be done.

"OK kids, let's go check out the game room." Sophie said, getting up. "Have some breakfast and then join us." She added to Alice and Danny.

After they were gone, Alice decided to talk about what she had been thinking of for a while.

"Is this the problem?" She started. "These family trips! You don't want to come with us?"

"It's not that! Honestly, I just wanted to look around because I wasn't and to sleep. Then I saw the bar, thought I'd have a drink- just one- and then I went to bed." Danny said, with a pleading look on his face. He did not want to leave his family, he loved them but he could not explain why he always felt sad. "Look maybe it's because i haven't had a drink in a long time or maybe it's because the drinks here are strong, but I promise you, I had only one. I would never do anything to worry you or the kids."

Alice was silent for a moment then she nodded and called for the waiter. The rest of the meal went in silence. Danny was so hungry he had scarfed down his pancakes.

"We have the rest of the day unplanned. Think about what you wanna do. The maze carnival starts only tomorrow."

"I think I want to catch up on some sleep and I should be fine." Danny said.

"Ok then." Alice said getting up. They looked at each other. Danny sensed something breaking between them. Obviously whatever he did this morning affected her more than the days he came home drunk.

Dana sat impatiently in the corner of the arcade. Sophie and Eric were playing air hockey and David was on a Pac man game. She loved arcades but today she just had to be somewhere else. Now that her father was ok her mind went back to the mission she came here for.

Finding Aaron. She needed to get away from her family and ask around. It's a small town, surely someone would have seen him.

Then something caught her attention, two guys who were playing foosball next to her were talking loudly about the Maze.

"She refused to go with me, man! Even after I got her tickets to that stupid maze." said one guy. "I mean, the whole reason we came to this stupid place was to go to the maze and now she doesn't want to go?"

"Man, I don't think that's what she meant." said his friend. "I think she wants to go with Freddy. He already got her the tickets and everything."

"Excuse me!" Dana said, going up to them with a plan. "Do you know where I can get tickets for the maze?"

"Well this is your lucky day." said the first guy with a flirty grin. "I've got a ticket and a partner."

"No thanks, I need six tickets actually." Dana said, nodding towards, Sophie and the boys. Both boys groaned. But they told her about a little souvenir shop next to the Copper Pan Bar where the tickets were sold.

Dana was thrilled. Now she had an excuse to ditch her family and spend some time alone, looking for Aaron. She quickly told Sophie she was going to buy tickets and left the Arcade.

William had the day to look around and investigate the place, but he felt drained. He dint get much sleep so he waited in his room for Frank to return.

Finally the door opened and Frank came in. He looked worse than ever.

"Frank! What happened man? Are you ok?" William asked watching him slowly walk to his bed and fall on it.

Frank's eyes were bloodshot, his whole body was slouched and he dragged his feet. The place he stabbed himself with a fork was bandaged up. He dint respond to William immediately, but lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling.

"Frank." William said again.

"I am ok." He replied. "Just tired."

Tired?

"Let me just rest for a while." Frank said, closing his eyes. Puzzled, William left the room.

He just left his room when a voice called out to him from the end of the corridor.

"William!" called Adam, jogging towards him.

"Yes?" William said.

"Sorry about this morning, I was just worried about some family stuff and it dint occur to me that you wouldn't know why everyone was staring at you." Adam said.

"Don't worry about it." William said, waving it off. "Is that why you are here?"

"No, actually I am you partner for tonight's shift. I just wanted to apologies and clear the air before we work together." Adam said as they walked down the corridor together.

"Ok."

"So..... Is Frank back? Is he ok?" Adam asked.

"Yes, he is just resting now. I suppose it must be difficult to sleep at the hospital with all the beeping."  William said as they toured the grounds.

Neither of them noticed the figure between the trees and bushes, watching them. It watched as William asked questions about the maze and Adam talking about his brother who he loved and had to support.

The figure was angry, he did not like the new guy, but he could not do anything about him now. He had another problem to worry about. He slipped away unnoticed, new plan forming in his mind.

So Frank is back and he does not seem to be getting better, but is William in danger?

What problem does the mysterious person have to deal with or is it a who problem.
