Sunshine Apartments

It was around 7 in the morning, and the apartment number 105 was chirpy. Two men were sitting on the couch going through the newspaper . A little girl of around 4 years of age was running around, maybe challenging someone. The little girl was laughing and speaking in her broken baby voice....

"You can't catch me. " she looked up at another girl in her late twenties and clicked her tongue out at her...the girl glared at her...

"Amayaa.... Stop running. We're getting late.... Varna tumhari mumma mujhe dantengi. " she said.

Amaya giggled looking at her and clapped her hands...

"Yayy... Maasi ko dant padegi. " she said while the other guy made Amaya sit in his lap...

"Han... it will be fun. Tumhari maasi ko dant padegi toh maza aayega. " he said as he held her hands to clap.

The girl got irritated at him....

"Aarav! Tum meri princess ko mat bigaado. Khud toh bigde hue ho hi. " she said.

"Chachu ish good. " the girl exclaimed..

"dekha tumne, Manvi .... Ek bachchi samajh gayi, par tum nahi samjhi. "he made a sad face.

The other guy was laughing when manvi turned to him...

"Kya jiju.... aap mera sath dene ke jagah pe hans rahe ho. Not fair. " she said.

He smiled... "Toh kya karu? Mujhe thodi na is couch pe sona hai. " he said.

Aarav giggled. Manvi glared at him...

"Huh! Sabke sab mujhe satane mein lage hue hain. Mujhe bhi kisi se baat nahi karna. "she said as she sat on the couch.

In the mean time, another girl came out in the hall...

"tum logon ko office nahi jana? "she asked looking at the guys. "Bhabhi....main derr se jaunga. Aap bhaiya se baat karo. " he said playing with Amaya.

The girl looked at her husband, who smiled...

"Ja raha hoon taiyar hone. Tum gussa na kiya karo, Angel." he said.

Manvi giggled... "Hehe....Aap pe kab gussa kiya Di ne, jiju? " she asked.

Sachin looked at her... "kab gussa nikal jaye, kya pata. " he joked.

Angel glanced at them.... "tum logon ko subah mazak krne ke alawa kuch sujhta hai ya nahi. " she said..

"Morning Masti, mumma!! " replied Amaya looking at her parents.

Sachin smiled... "sahi baat! " he said.

Angel shaked her head... "uffo! Tum logon ka kuch nahi ho sakta. " she said.

Manvi giggled...

"aap humse ulajhti kyun ho?" she questioned.

Angel tapped on her head...

"maza aata hai mujhe.... "she replied jokingly.

Manvi laughed..."acha di... Aap aur jiju nikal jao. Amaya ko school hum drop kar denge. " she said.

Angel nodded and left to her room.

These four were family to each other. Angel and Manvi are sisters. These four came along during the most weakest points of their lives. It was around five years, since they were leading a happy life. This happiness was brought back by Amaya, Angel and Sachin's daughter.

What brought them together was mutual understanding, care and love.

Sachin and Angel were colleagues and they came closer when a storm hit Sachin's life. An accident took away his mom, who was his sole reason of living. He wanted to grow his mother's business of embroidery, but he had to drop it off because of all the loans. It was Angel, who supported him in the tough times.

On the other hand, Aarav was devastated after his sister's death and their family pushed him out, since he was there only because of his sister, and he was all because of her.

He met Manvi in her college and they had arguments and fights every other day.

But these fights halted when manvi felt a connection with him. Her words healed him and they ended up being together.

The trance was broken by Amaya's voice...

"Chachuu.....amaya ko late ho jayega. "she said..

Aarav came out of his trance and blinked his eyes. He smiled at the girl and descended her on the floor....

"aap maasi ke paas jaiye... MaMain ready hoke aata hoon. "he said.

The little girl nodded and rushed to Manvi in the kitchen.

"Mumma papa kahan hai? " she asked her.

Manvi smiled... "Wo dono aa jayenge. Tum yahan baitho. "

She lifted her up and made her sit on the counter and gave her a glass of milk.

She was talking with her, when someone patted on her shoulder...she turned to find Angel.

"Di... AaP gaye nhi ab tak? "she asked.

Angel smiled... "ja rahi hoon. Main yeh bolne aayi thi k aaj shaam hum bahar jayenge dinner pe. "she informed.

Manvi smiles.... "Great!! "

Angel smiled.... "be ready. " she said.

After a while, sachin and Angel left for office. Manvi moved to her room to look at Aarav and found him lost. She kept her hand on his shoulder... he looked at her....

"Kya soch rahe ho? " she asked..

He blinked his eyes and nodded in a no...

"Kuch nahi. "

"Aarav you know, tum mujhse jhooth nahi bol sakte. " she said.

Aarav smiled lightly... " tumse chupa kya hai? " he asked.

She smiled and sat beside him...

"kya soch rahe they? Apni behen ke baare mein? " she asked again.

He nodded... "Haan! 5 saal beet chuke hai Manvi.... Lekin ab bhi lagta hai ki kal hi ki baat hai. I Miss her so much. " he said.

Manvi smiled...

" Aarav.... Jo hua wo hum badal nahi sakte. Lekin ab toh hum khush hai na.... Di Jiju... Amaya.... khush hain na hum. " she said.

Aarav smiled... "Han... Thik keh rahi ho. Mujhe toh yeh nahi pata ki agar tum nhi hoti, toh mera kya hota." he said.

Manvi smiled.... " tumhara toh vaise bhi kuch nahi ho sakta. Tum pagle they aur wahi rahoge. " she said winking at him.

Aarav looked at her and both broke into laughter.

The day passed in a blur. It was evening. Aarav was back home early and was playing with Amaya. Sachin and Angel came back home. Sachin looked at Aarav....

"Mannu kahan hai? "

"wo abhi tak aayi nahi. Kuch zaruri kaam tha usey. " he replied.

"okay... tum ready ho jao. Aa jayegi wo. " angel said.

"aap log fresh ho jao. Main aur Amaya ghoom ke aate hain. " he said.

"Maasi ko dhundh ke late hai. "Amaya chuckled making the other three laugh.

Sachin smiled... "tumhe nahi lagta, yeh bilkul Manvi ki tarah bante ja rahi hai. " he looked at Angel.

"acha hai....tum dono pe jaati toh mera kya hota? "she said.

Sachin and Aarav glared at her...

"Humne kya galti ki? " they asked with innocent looks.

"bas bas... Yeh innocent looks mujhe nahi dikhao. Tum dono ghar ko playground bana ke rakhte ho. " she said.

"tum ho, isliye. " sachin said.

"exactly.... Taaki aap thoda jhallao, chillao aur pyar jatao. " Aarav said.

Sachin smiled hearing him. Angel took Amaya from his arms...."yeh badi badi Baatein meri beti ko na sikhao. Call Manvi " she said.

Aarav called but the ring was heard in the house..

"I'm home. Sorry di.... ZyZyada kaam tha. "she said hugging Angel.

Angel tapped her cheeks...

"okay... Fresh ho ja. Since kal sabka off hai, hum ek play dekhenge, then dinner. "

"that's great. Main ready hoke aati hoon. "she said.

"Han han... Jaldi jao. Tumhe hi sabse zyada time lagega...." aarav teased.

"Shut up Aarav!! " she slapped on his arm irritatedly. He laughed and followed her inside the room.

A while later, they were out, moving on towards the theatre. They were discussing about the play, which was something about a mother child bond. It was something usual they did on weekends. Going out for dinner or walks or watching plays or movies. They enjoyed such family times with each other.

Aarav, Manvi and Amaya were the three, who used to annoy each other, and then laugh a lot more. Sachin and Angel were silent observers of this and were happy.

Later that night, while returning home, Amaya fell asleep in Angel's arms. Returning back home, sachin opened the locks and Angel moved in to make Amaya sleep. Aarav and Manvi rushed into their room. Sachin locked the door and walked to his room and found Angel asleep beside Amaya. The little girl had clutched her hand tightly. He smiled at the sight in front of him. He smeared Angel's head and walked to change. Here, angel woke up. She freed her hand from her grip and looked around for sachin.

She moved out of the room and could hear some voices from the kitchen. She moved to look and found Aarav and Manvi inside.

Manvi was sitting on the counter while aarav was making

something. They were giggling and talking. Angel smiled to herself and walked to her room, only to find sachin sitting beside Amaya.

"kahan gayi thi? " he asked.

"tumhe dhundhne. I thought tum kitchen mein ho. But wahan aarav aur manvi hai. Pata nahi Manvi ko kya kya soojhta hai. " she said.

He smiled... " tumhari behen hai. Kuch toh karegi hi . Jaise tumne mujhse na jaane kitna khana banvaya hai aadhi raat ko. "he said.

"o hello... They were pregnancy cravings... TuTum nahi karte toh kaun karta? " she said.

He laughed... "okay fine.... II aagree. " he said.

"better! Par yeh Manvi! Khud toh kitchen mein jhankti nahi hai... BeBechare aarav ko sab karna padta hai... " she said.

Sachin smiled... "but u should be happy that wo log khush hain. " he said.

"hum sab khush hain. That's all I want. " she said leaning her head on his shoulder.

He smiled.

They were one small family, having worlds in each other. All prevailed between them was love and care. They were really happy.
