Brooke followed up on what she said to Chad. After her quick encounter with Julian, she made her way to Peyton after a little while. She found Peyton at Red Bedroom Records, thanks to the tip Mia gave her.

"Hey." Brooke spoke softly as she entered Peyton's office.

"I came here and thought about how upset I am about all this but then I realized that it's my fault. You broke up with him on my behalf and I kind of intro—" Peyton began.

"Don't do that, Peyton." Brooke cut her off, "I broke up with Chad because i thought it was the right thing to do. None of this is your fault." She reassured her friend.

"Do you still have feelings for him? And be honest." Peyton had to know. If Chad did, then maybe Brooke did too.

Brooke didn't expect to hear that question. In all honesty, she did still have feelings for the blonde boy. She never dealt with the break up herself. She saw Julian and thought he was cute, so she went for it. All she did was suppress everything she been feeling. Of course, she didn't want her best friend to know. She wants Peyton to be happy and from what Chad told her, he wants to marry Peyton. So she lied to Peyton to spare her feelings.

"Of course, I don't. I moved on. The only love and care I have for him is as a friend. I would never do that to you." The burnette lied through her white teeth about her true feelings. It wasn't just Peyton. She had to think about the bigger picture, which was Julian, Peyton and Chad.

"You know, this morning after Haley left I was going to tell him I'm pregnant." Peyton lightly smiled as she placed her hand on her stomach.

Hearing those words come from Peyton, made Brooke even more guilty. She still had feelings for her best friend's now baby daddy. It sounds even more worse now that she thought about it.

Brooke made her way over to Peyton and wrapped her arms around her in hug, "Oh my god, I'm so happy for you."

They both pulled away with a smile on their faces. After a little more talking, Brooke left Tric accomplished that she did her job. Now she had to go find Chad and tell him everything, except the pregnant part.

Chad had music playing from the speaker in the living room. He was trying to figure out if he should dance a bit as he walked down the stage tonight. As he practiced his walk, he ripped his shirt open and that's around the time the front door opened.

He quickly turned around and closed his shirt back up, "Brooke!"

"I have a key, remember?" Brooke walked in, then closing the door behind her.

She slid the key in her back pocket as she walked to the kitchen, placing her bag down on the counter.

"Did you talk to Peyton yet? She's been ignoring me all day." Chad ask her as she made her way towards him.

"Yeah, uh- she needs time. Space." Brooke told him.

"How much?" Chad was eager to fix all of this, to have her back in his arms.

Brooke plopped down on the couch, "I guess, until you figure this all out."

"I don't need to figure anything out. I know exactly how I feel. I want to marry her. Sure, I still have these feelings for you but how I feel about Peyton never changed and never will. She's the one and I have to make sure she knows that." He ranted to Brooke, pounding his head of how he would convince Peyton to stick around.

Brooke listened to every word he said and he was right. Him and Peyton were bound to get back together and just like everyone else, she was a stepping stone into that direction. It was always Peyton and Chad, she knew that.

Everyone was in the auditorium. No sign of Lucas yet, but Haley wasn't that worried. Julian hasn't yet showed up either, he did mention he would be a little late though.

Everyone was chatting and just getting along for the most part. All the guys were backstage while the ladies were in the front, easing away time.

Peyton had no intention of bidding on Chad, she decided if she did it would come off as she's ready but she isn't yet. She does feel bad of not being able to tell him ahead of time but what can she do?

As the ladies continued to talk amongst themselves, the principal walked onto the stage. Over the years, there was one principal that the school administration decided to replace Charlene Rimkus with and that was Logan Huntress. She quickly became really liked amongst the students and teachers.

"And who is that?" Ashely was eyeing principal Huntress as she watched her set up the mic on stage.

Haley looked over and saw it was the new principal her friend was talking about, "That's Logan Huntress, our new principal. Everyone likes her."

"I can definitely see why." Ashely spoke in a flirty tone, watching Logan bend down to pick something up that she dropped.

"Your gay is showing." Brooke spoke in a sing-song voice, causing a playful eye roll from Ashley.

"You would know." Ashely flirted with her friend.

Just before Brooke could respond back, the lights went dim and the principal walked center stage. She announced the bidding was about to began and just a second later, the first guy walked out and it was non other than Nathan Scott.

Of course Haley got him. Next was skills and Lauren got him, Millie got mouth, then Chad was next.

He stood there, hands in pockets waiting for Peyton to yell out a random number but she never did. Alex on the other hand was screaming number by number and Brooke would be damned if she let Alex get him.

"2,300 dollars!" Brooke yelled from the top of her lungs.

Everyone was stunned, even Chad. He knew he was worth some money but not that much. Of course Peyton read too much into it.

"Mr. Donovan here, gets the rest of the night with Ms. Davis!" Logan announced to the audience as Chad made his way to brooke.

Soon Julian walked out and Alex got him, then last was Lucas and as he hoped, Teressa got him. They've been hanging a lot recently so when Lucas asked her about Boy Toy Night, she immediately agreed to being the highest bidder on him.

Once the night was over, everyone headed to their dates with their bidders. Some were happier than others and yeah, Haley was a bit upset no one stuck with their significant other as she promised Chad but what's done is done.

Midnight was slowly approaching, ten minutes at most. Brooke and Chad were both sitting on the couch in Brooke's living room. The two of them had just gotten back from a little walk on the bridge.

Chad lightly laughed, "I didn't know I was worth 2k."

"God forbid, Alex getting you. Peyton wouldn't let you hear the end of it." Brooke laughed as well, "I just felt bad. Peyton wasn't bidding and . . . yeah."

"So you're ok that Julian is with Alex?" Chad crossed his arms over his chest as he looked at Brooke.

She shook her head, "No, but I trust him."

"Wish Peyton and I had that." Chad mumbled, his eyes still on her.

"You guys do." Brooke leaned her head back on the couch, turning hear head towards him, "It's just a weird situation. She'll get over it eventually."

Chad gave her a little smile before checking the time on his phone. It was 12:01 in the morning.

"Looks like it's twelve. You remember what we're suppose to do at midnight?" He ask her.

"If I remember correctly, we kiss, right?" Her nose scrunched up a little which he thought was always cute.

In the back of their minds, a little voice kept telling them, the cheek the cheek but that's not where their lips ended up. No, it didn't last long. It was quick, like a peck but just out of respect for Peyton and Julian, they didn't have to kiss on the lips.

They didn't feel bad or guilty but in a way, they felt like they disrespected their significant others.

After they pulled away, they said their goodbyes and Chad went home. As he expected, Peyton wasn't there. Just like anytime when he's lost or doesn't know what to do, he pulled out his guitar and started to strum on it to ease his mind and figure out this whole Peyton thing.
