Haley paced around the waiting room, she was too impatient to just sit and relax. She hasn't gotten any replies back yet from anyone so as of right now, their lives were in her hands or more so the doctor's. Eventually after about another ten minutes Brooke made her way to Haley. She was the first to get the message which was good cause she knew something no one else knew, Ashely was pregnant.

"What happened? How are they?" Brooke pulled from the hug, looking at Haley with a worried expression on her face.

Haley shook her head, trying to hold tears back. She had to be strong, if not for herself then for Nathan and Chad. "I don't know. I got there and everyone had been shot but Ashley looked the worst."

An alarm went off in Brooke's head. She quickly made an excuse to go find a doctor to ask about Ashely and to inform them about her pregnancy. She eventually did find one and explained the situation. She also made sure that the doctor informed her about that baby and no one else, just to keep Ashely's promise.

Chad finally had woken up and like any other person, the first thing he does is go on his phone. He looked through all the messages and missed calls. Once he saw the words, sister and hospital— he immediately sprung up which caused Peyton to wake up.

"What?" She sat up with concern in her voice.

Chad didn't say anything. He just got up, tossed his phone on the bed and quickly started to get dress. Peyton picked up his phone and read the messages. She looked at him and searched his face for one sign of emotion but there was nothing. It was like he wasn't even there. Peyton did the same thing, she got up and quickly started to get dress as well.

Peyton and Chad soon made their way out the door after getting dress. They both got into Peyton's car and drove to the hospital. The last time Chad felt nothing was when his sister was in a coma. Though he knew he should call his parents, he also knew that they wouldn't show just like seven years ago.

The car ride to the hospital was dead silent. They said nothing to each other. Once Peyton parked the car, Chad quickly got out and Peyton followed as he did. He knew Ashely was smart and she wouldn't get herself in trouble on purpose so what the hell happened? He kept replaying those words over and over again in his head until he reached his friends.

They were the last ones there he noticed. Everyone was hugging them and he was just confused.

"What happened?" He ask Haley who he was sharing a hug with. Ironic isn't it? Haley is the one who feels guilty even though she didn't do anything but she thought she did.

Haley pulled away, "Clay, Quinn, and Ashely were shot. The police can't do anything until they wake up. They're all going into surgery right now."

Chad nodded, "Ok." He then walked away. He realized this time is different. There was no fire, no coma. She was shot. Blood. This time he realized he could actually lose his sister and he didn't know how to process that.

Hours had passed and the doctor finally made his way to the group who sat in the waiting room not knowing if they were going to make it or not. All of them stood up and Chad noticed just from the doctor's face, that it wasn't good.

"I have some good news and bad news. Which one would you like to hear first? Speaking to the immediate family of Mr. Evans, Ms. James, and Ms. Donovan."

"Good news, please." A familiar voice came from behind them.

They all turned around and it was Rachel. Chad and Rachel always had a weird, unique relationship but when it came to Ashely, they were always there for each other. As soon as Chad saw the redhead, he made his way to her and wrapped his arms around her. She wrapped her arms around him as well.

Of course Peyton felt a certain way about it. Peyton wanted to be the one he turns to when he doesn't know what to do. It sucked that Rachel was that person for him.

The doctor cleared his throat, "The good news is Quinn and clay both made it out without any complications but clay has fallen into a coma."

"The bad news?" Haley held Nathan's hand so tight.

"There are complications with Ashely—" The doctor started. Brooke gave the doctor a look telling him not tell about the pregnancy, but under these circumstances, he had no choice. "Ms. Gatina, your wife is pregnant. But we are unable to save both. Therefore you have to choose between Ashely and the baby."

"Woah, whoa, woah! Don't I get a say?" Chad walked through everyone, closer to the doctor. He was upset he didn't have a say in this matter.

"Ms. Gatina is Ashely's spouse and emergency contact." The doctor clarified.

Rachel was still in shock. She didn't know what was happening. She just got fed all this information all at once and now she has to make a huge decision but it wasn't difficult. She knew exactly who to save.

"Ashely, please." Rachel breathed out. She was still stunned along with Chad. They couldn't believe she was pregnant, just like the rest of them.

Everyone was silent. It's been an hour since the doctor went back to help Ashely.

Chad stood up abruptly and started pacing. It was easy to tell he was angry that he didn't know his sister was pregnant. All of a sudden he stopped in his tracks in front of the group.

"Who knew she was pregnant?" He didn't even look up, he just kept his head down. Everyone knew he was pissed.

It was silent for a minute or two before Brooke stood up, "I did." She walked over to Chad. "She told me not too and as a friend, I respected that."

Chad soon fell back silent and that made Brooke a tad nervous. It was a delicate situation and she didn't know how he would react. But as people say, actions speak louder than words. Chad lived up to that. He didn't say anything. All he did was sit back down. Eventually, so did Brooke.

They continued to wait and wait some more until the doctor once again came back out. Once again, they all stood— preparing of what could come from the doctor's lips.

"You can see them now." He told the group before leaving them with sighs of relief.

Nathan went to see clay, Haley and Peyton went to see Quinn, Brooke, Chad, and Rachel went to see Ashley. Brooke reasoned with them that she should be the first to go to tell her about the baby. It only seemed right that Ashely would hear it from her cause she was the only one suppose to know.

Brooke slowly opened the door and there she was. She saw Ashely lying on the bed with her eyes close. She slowly walked to her bedside and sat in the chair that was next to her. Ashely must've heard her cause her eyes started fluttering open.

Brooke smiled at her and she returned the smile. Ashely's smile faded when her mind wandered to her unborn child.

"I-is the baby.." She groaned from the pain that was her stomach, "Ok?"

Brooke took her hand in her's, "The baby didn't make it."

Ashely looked away cause she didn't want Brooke to see her cry. She mumbled under her breath, "That bitch killed my baby."

Brooke had a confused expression on her face, "What?"

Before Ashely could answer, Rachel and Chad walked in. Brooke took that as a sign that she should leave and so she did. Ashely's cheeks were stained with her tears. She was so sad about losing her baby. Chad and Rachel both went on opposite sides of the bed and sat down.

Rachel held Ashely's hand but she pulled away. Ashely felt uncomfortable and overwhelmed. Not just because of the news about her baby but cause of Rachel being there.

"I'm amusing you heard?" Ashely tried to avoid eye contact with Rachel.

Rachel spoke softly, "I'm not mad."

Chad thought he would leave to give them some time to talk alone. And so he stood up, kissed his sister's head and left the room.

Ashely turned her head towards Rachel. She just looked at her confused as to why she wasn't event a little mad.

"I slept with someone else and got pregnant a week after you left. You're telling me you're not a least a little upset? I would be." Ashely furrowed her eyebrows.

"Yeah, well, I'm not the one who was shot. So I can't be mad, it would be unfair." Rachel was being honest, as honest as she could be in this situation.

Chad sat in the waiting room, waiting so he could see Ashely and actually talk to her. As he waited, Peyton made her way back to the waiting room. She sat down next to her boyfriend.

"How's Quinn and clay?" Chad began small talk.

"Clay's the same and Quinn is recovering. Ashely?" Peyton questioned.

"She's sad." He simply said. He was a bit sad too that she wasn't able enough to trust him about the pregnancy.

Their conversation soon fell silent but that's only cause Peyton was figuring out a way to approach this situation that was bugging her. She didn't want to make a big deal out of it, but to her it was a big deal. Honestly, she felt hurt that he turned to Rachel instead of her in this situation.

She just wants to be the girl he could turn to. Isn't that what a girlfriend's suppose to do? Help you in your time of need, be there for you and vice versa. And well, she felt Rachel was more of his girlfriend than she was in that moment.

"So is Rachel your new girlfriend?" She shot at him.

He was leaning back in the chair, "What?"

Peyton sighed annoyed, "The way you hugged her. I was there too you know."

He turned to her, "I know. Rachel and I, we just have Ashely in common. We really care about her."

Peyton's voice softened, "I just wanna be your girlfriend."

"You are." He leaned in and pecked her lips, "I'm sorry I made you feel that way."

Everyone then found their way back home but not their homes. They all gathered at Haley's house but Rachel stayed behind. She wanted to stay with Ashely. It was tragic really. Ashely lost her baby, clay ended up in a coma, and well, Quinn, all she could do was worry about clay.

The top tier questions were, where was katie? And is she coming back?
