[ 5 HOURS EARLIER ]

"Do you?" Chad intertwined their fingers together.

"I... I love you. I do, but we— I have to talk to Lucas." She lastly said before giving him a small smile and opening the door to head back to her place.

Chad definitely understood. This was now a weird situation and he put her in that situation by asking her that stupid question. Chad closed the front door and locked it. He made his way to the couch and sat on it still in his boxers. He already got out of a messy relationship, why would he want to go back in one.

Just in seconds, that front door swung wide open.

"What's up, dog!" Skills walked in with his suitcase in hand.

"Hey." Chad stood up from the couch. He made his way over to his good friend, "How was your trip?"

"Crazy, bro." Skills dumped his stuff behind the couch. "LA is crazy. I don't know how you did it"

Chad just lightly laughed, "Yeah, well, neither do I."

Peyton thought about everything as she drove to Lucas' house. Her wants, needs, desires. She thought about Lucas' feelings, then her minded wandered to Chad and she thought about his feelings. She felt as if she was in the same situation as she was in high school. The only difference is, Chad is Brooke in this scenario.

As Peyton approached his house, she let out a huge sigh of nervousness. She parked the car along the curb and sat in the driver's seat for a few minutes, twenty to be specific. She finally shook off all the worries and unbuckled herself. She opened the side door and got up, closing the door behind her. As she walked to the front door, her mind clouded up with Chad. But that didn't stop her from knocking on Lucas' door.

After impatiently waiting for a minute or so, the blonde man finally opened the door. He immediately smiled once he saw the woman he loves so much.

"Hey, Luke. Thought we should talk." She returned the smile and he let her in. Lucas had closed the door behind her then followed her to the living room.

They both sat next to each other on the couch.

"So, I thought about it. The proposal." Peyton started. Lucas' eyes widened as he heard her say proposal. "Yes. I'll marry you." She turned her head towards him and smiled.

Luke was happy, so happy but Peyton was known for switching it up. "Are you sure?"

"Oh god, Luke..." She started. "I love you so much and I want us to spend the rest of our lives together." Tears started to fall from her eyes and no they weren't sad tears, they were happy. She was happy, at least she thought she was.

Lucas cupped her face and planted a kiss on her lips. Lucas soon went to his bedroom and got the ring from his sock drawer. He then made his way back to Peyton, then kneeling in front of her. She stuck out her hand and he slid the ring on. Lucas thought in that moment that it couldn't get any better than that and maybe he was right.

"So Peyton went to talk to Luke about all this?" Skills ask just to clarify things up and Chad nodded in response. "You two gonna get together?"

"That's what I hope." Chad couldn't help but think of their night together.

"Well, dog.." Skills began as he looked at his phone, "According to this, Peyton said yes."

Chad was confused at first. He didn't know what his friend was talking about until he reached over the counter island and grabbed his phone. He looked at the text from Luke and it read Peyton had said yes to his marriage proposal. Chad just couldn't believe it. He scoffed sliding the phone back to skills.

"I'm sorry, man." Skills noticed his friend was hurt by the news.

"Sorry for what?" Chad tried to forget about what he said earlier.

"You just—" Skills started then caught on to what he was doing, "Never mind, man."

Chad watch as skills left to his bedroom before turning around and letting out a sigh, running his fingers through his hair. He didn't know how to feel or react. They just shared an intimate night together and to him it felt like she didn't even care. He started maybe thinking it was him because of the question he ask her
before she left. But he damned well knew it wasn't him.

[ PRESENT ]

Chad waited in the lobby for his sister. It was only a matter of time before he could give the biggest hug ever. He missed her so much. Five years is a long time and trust me, the Donovan siblings have waited long enough. As much as sitting is comfortable, Chad decided to stand up and walk around a bit. He was becoming impatient, he just wanted to see her already.

Ashely was finally on her way from baggage claim and as she got closer to exit the airport, she could've sworn she saw her brother walk across to the bathroom. So she made her way over to the boy's bathroom and stood next to the door, leaning her back against the wall. Within minutes she watched him walk out. She lightly chuckled cause he didn't notice her.

She left her bag up against the wall and snuck up behind him, then jumping on his back, "Hi, loser!"

He laughed, turning around. He then wrapped her in the biggest hug possible, he's pretty known for those. The hug felt like it lasted forever even though it was only for about less than a minute. They finally pulled away and both smiled, looking at each other.

"I can't believe you're here. It's been forever." Chad exclaimed with a smile on his face. Ashely just smiled back and went in for another hug.

Eventually they decided they didn't want to stay in the lobby of the airport for hours, so they of course left to Chad's car. Don't worry, Ashely didn't forget her luggage. They soon reached Chad's car and both got in.

"So where are you staying?" Ashely ask as she buckled up.

"Thinking about it now, that's going to be a problem." He told her as he started the ignition.

"Elaborate, please." Ashely playfully rolled her eyes with a light chuckle.

Chad started backing out of the parking spot, "Basically, skills and mouth only have two bedroom so I've been bunking on the couch.

"Where am I gonna stay then?" She watched as he backed out.

Chad thought for a second, "You could stay at Haley's. I'm pretty sure she has some extra beds." He began to leave the airport heading to Haley's, "If not, you might have to bunk with one her sisters."

Ashley groaned, hitting the back of her head on the headrest, "God, I hate Taylor."

Chad just chuckled, "You can't deny it though, Taylor's hot."

"If Rachel were here right now, she kill me for agreeing with you." Ashely smiled.

"Yeah, how's that annoying redhead doing?" Chad kept his eyes on the road, mentioning rachel.

"She's good, we're good." Ashely nodded.

Chad turned his head towards her, "That's good."

"Yeah, keep your eyes on the road dummy. I'm too young to die." She joked.

Chad turned his head back to the road as he chuckled at her little joke. Having his sister around was going to be the best thing to him that has happened in awhile.
