:: vi. | the lost & found

Peyton and Lucas have been spending a lot of time together recently. He would casually swing by the studio just to greet her or bring her lunch. Peyton knows where she stands, but with Lucas she was always oblivious to how he feels.

There was a time where Lucas and Peyton thought they were soulmates at one point. Two kindred souls, finding each other in the mist of darkness, only to go through something so tragic and end up in the arms of someone else. That's when they realized they were soulmates in that time, in that moment.

As time went on, Lucas realized it wasn't just a moment in time. He wanted to mate with Peyton forever, which is why he proposed. Of course when proposing, you expect an answer. But if you really love them, you should be willing to wait. Peyton didn't say yes, she said she wasn't ready yet. That is what Lucas got confused by.

Since then Lucas kicked himself everyday for not staying with her, for not waiting. Love was suppose to conquer all, but it obviously didn't since he decided to leave. And as of right now, he just wants to make up for it. He wants to find the love that they lost.

"What's this?" Peyton snatched the tickets out of lucas' hand.

"The Cure." He replied, "You been talking about how wanted to see them and so, here they are." He watched as her eyes lit up with excitement.

"Luke!" Peyton jumped into his arms for a hug. Of course, he hugged back. His arms were wrapped around her waist and for a split second, he felt as if it was only them two in the world.

Peyton slowly removed herself from his embrace and in doing so, they locked eyes. They practically were staring into each other's souls. Just as things were probably about to get good, Peyton went to go on and make it awkward.

"Soo uh, thanks Luke." She made her way back behind her desk, "I'll see you later." And with that, Lucas gave her that boyish smile and went about with his day.

Brooke was putting on a well suited dress with the bathroom door open as Chad was just laying on the bed, watching the television. Chad glanced from the tv to her. His thoughts wandered to that night of that incident with Lucas. He just couldn't figure out where Brooke ended up that night.

"Hey, that night of the dinner. Where did you go?" He ask. He thought it was weird that Peyton found him at the court and not Brooke.

"To look for you." Brooke simply replied. She didn't lie, she did go look for him. But she did run into Lucas during her search before winding up at the bar.

Brooke finished getting dress and applying her makeup, before heading out. She was on her way to Karen's Cafe. Since she was going to be in Tree Hill for awhile, she thought she would open up a store. Since the cafe is up for grabs, she thought why not.

.

.

She approached the once upon a time cafe and walked on into it. The nice thing about Tree Hill is that everything is practically walking distance. Of course there was a landlord. She walked up to the man and tapped his shoulder, hence he was turned around.

"Ah, Ms. Davis." The landlord held papers in his hands, "This way please." He led her to the back to explain how all of this was going to go down.

Peyton was finally on her way out the studio from a long day. As she turned the lights off, she couldn't stop thinking about Lucas and the tickets. She was so happy and grateful. She was really happy at the place her and Lucas were now at after what happened about two years ago.

She continued to smile after turning the last light off and heading out. She headed out, walking out to her car as she rummage through her purse looking for her phone. After about a second or so, she finally found it and called Lucas.

She held the phone up to her ear and waited after about two rings until he answered.

"Hey, Peyton." Her eyes lit up from the sound of his voice.

"Luke, hey. Are you free?" She randomly ask. While she felt butterflies in the pit of her stomach, a smile crept on Lucas' face.

"I mean, it's not like I'm sitting here trying to approach the next chapter of my book." He chuckled. "Where are you?" He then ask.

"Outside of Tric." She shifted her feet. It was getting a bit chilly now since winter is slowly coming back.

"Be there soon." Lucas said, with a small smile.

"And please bring me a jacket." She lastly said before the call hung up.

.

.

Soon enough, Lucas arrived and he let out a slight chuckled after he saw Peyton trying to hug herself because of how cold it's becoming to be. He parked the car and immediately got out, while grabbing the jacket form the passenger's seat. He walked on over to her and swung the jacket around her shoulders.

Lucas blew hot air in between his palms and rubbed them together. He then placed his hands on each of Peyton's arms and started to stroke them to warm her up a bit more. Peyton smiled as he did this. Lucas' hand slipped down to Peyton's hand. They walked to his car and got in.

"Man, it is getting colder out there every day." Peyton mentioned once they got in the car.

Lucas gave Peyton a smile as did she the same. They were practically locked into each other's eyes. Peyton being Peyton, let out a slight chuckle as she turned to look outside. Lucas kept his eyes on her. He was happy to be reconnecting with Peyton. Of course he didn't want to rush anything, which is why he didn't kiss her when he had the chance. Right outside or in the car right now. As much as he wanted to, he wanted to savor this current moment. He was just happy to sit there and hear her breath. He was happy, she was happy.
