ATTICUS came from money. It had always been clear as day — with a father as the director of Discovery and a mother who's an editor at Vogue, along with a past in prestigious private schools up and down the East coast — his name would always be connected to a dollar sign. His name paid for his tuition through college, his name got him a job as a physical therapist at one of the best clinics in Capitol Hill, and his name is how he met Derek Morgan.

And Derek would turn out to be one of the best guys he's ever met, a tough gym partner and open to talk. But when he finds out that Atticus owns a boat (it's a fucking yacht, who is he kidding) up in a lake by DC, Derek takes it upon himself to invite him and a couple of his favorite coworkers out on the water for dinner. It's fine — or it would have been, but Spencer Reid definitely is a hard thing to forget.

-you can change his parents professions but atticus being a physical trainer is pretty key to the plot

-basically it would really start to pick up when spencer gets shot in the leg and derek recommends atticus as his physical trainer

-atticus has a lot of malice towards his upbringing because of things he went through during private school, mostly due to the fact he was outed.

-for me, a big conflict was going to be that spencer wanted to keep their relationship a secret because he wasn't out to anyone as pan/bi (your preference), and it almost made atticus have flashbacks to how he used to have to repress his sexuality.
