Chapter Twelve
"Alright, so I found some cool two bedrooms in the Mission District, but they're pretty expensive. A couple in Haight and Ashbury, also expensive." Stiles said, leaning on his Jeep while Scott and Isabelle sat on the hood of it.
"What about Berkeley? Don't a lot of students live around there?" Scott asked.
"Yeah, yeah, we could try Nob Hill."
"More like Noob Hill if the two of you move there." Isabelle muttered earning a glare from Stiles.
"The Jeep would probably burn through a lot of clutches." Stiles said to Scott.
Isabelle looked from her friend to the inside of the Jeep, "You're bringing this old piece of junk?" She asked.
"First of all," Stiles sighed, placing his hand on the Jeep, "She didn't mean that baby, I love you. Second of all," Stiles looked at the girl he considered a sister, "Yes! You know the plan, no one gets left behind. That's the plan. Lydia's not gonna have a problem getting into Stanford. Kira's thinking USF. Malia, uh, gonna you know, she'll figure something out, okay. The plan's perfect."
"Or we could also wait until we actually get into college and then figure out where to live." Scott suggest.
"I have a vision, dude. Okay? And it is a beautiful vision."
"Am I in it?" Isabelle asked.
"Don't ruin the vision."
"Okay, we can check out the East Bay. Haven't looked at Oakland yet, you know?" Stiles looked at his best friend, "You all right? Starting to feel it?"
No, just thinking." Scott replied.
"'Bout what?" His sister asked.
"Senior year."
"Senior year, come on, that's that's... that's nothing. That's going to be easy." Stiles said.
"It's more like something Deaton told me once. You ever hear of regression to the mean?"
"No, I don't think so."
"It was his way of saying that life can't be all bad or all good. You know, eventually things have to come back to the middle. So, think about the last few months, things have been good, right? But not amazing."
"Yeah, okay, but nobody's tried to kill us in six months either, which seems pretty amazing to me." Isabelle replied.
"Right. We've been pretty much in the middle for a while. Which means, at some point, the scale has to tip one way or the other. Things are gonna get really good again." Scott paused.
"Or really bad." Stiles spoke. Scott looked up at the lighting as the thunder cracked, "Think it's been long enough?"
"Yes!" A voice replied, making the three turn the Liam, who had been chained to the tree.
"Hey, trying to have an adult conversation over here." Stiles said.
Liam shook his head, "Alright, you're two years older than me and Isabelle is with you guys. And i'm fine, just let me go."
Scott smiled and hopped off of the Jeep, Stiles and Isabelle following close behind. Scott grabbed the key to the chains, "it's not that we don't trust you." Scott spoke.
"It's that I don't trust you." Stiles replied.
"But after that last full moon..."
"It was one slip up." Liam defended.
"Slip up?" Stiles asked. "A dozen calls to the Sheriff's Department about a "monstrous dog-boy" running around the streets of Beacon Hills naked. That's a slip up?"
Scott rose and eyebrow and looked at his beta, "Why were you naked?"
Isabelle and Liam glanced at each other quickly, "It was hot out that night, okay. Let me go." Liam lied, making Isabelle smirk.
"You sure you're alright?" Isabelle asked.
"It won't happen again."
"You're in complete and total control?" Scott asked.
"Yeah, complete and total."
Scott nodded and unlocked the chains, making them fall. Stiles put the chains in the bag and walked off with Scott. Liam looked at his girlfriend and unclenched his hands, showing that they were bloody, she frowned. Isabelle was supposed to be his anchor, she was supposed to keep him grounded, calm.
"Is it a party?" Liam asked.
"It is not a party." Stiles replied.
"Then what's at midnight?"
"Your bedtime."
"Why aren't the girls going?"
"They're meeting us there, okay? And just stop asking questions, all right? It's a senior thing. You'll find out when you're a senior."
"Are you guys having trouble with your phones?" Scott asked.
The Jeep started to make a noise and slowed to a stop, "oh, what the hell."
"Are we out of gas?" Liam asked.
"No, it's electrical. Probably the alternator again."
Scott and Stiles got out of the car, leaving the couple. Liam handed his girlfriend one side of the earphones and placed the other one in his ear. A crash came from behind them and they turned around.
"Guys..." Liam spoke.
The two looked behind them again, lightning striking the floor not too far, "Guys!"
"Yeah, give us a second please." Stiles said.
"Liam, Izzy, stay in the car, okay?"
Isabelle closer her eye, preparing for the next bolt. She heard the crash and Liam shifting beside her.
"That was close." Scott spoke.
"Very close." Stiles confirmed.
The car started up again, making the two older boys turn in surprise. Liam popped his head out of the window, "Can we go now?" he asked. The two boys entered the Jeep, Isabelle hit both of their arms hard.
"Do you know how worried I was about the two of you? If something were to happen to either of the three of you I would honestly go insane! Why do you two always end up doing something reckless. For God's sake, I feel like Minerva McGonagall when she asks, "why is it when something happens it is always you three?" Because that's how I feel around you two idiots!" Isabelle ranted.
"Aw, where you worried about us?" Stiles asking, receiving another smack on the arm.
"Of course I was worried, you idiot!"
Stiles honked the horn to gain Malia's attention, she said something to her father and made her way to the Jeep.
"Sorry we're late." Stiles said. Malia ran to the Jeep. "Hey." Stiles smiled as Malia kissed him, making him let out a hum.
"So glad we aren't like that." Isabelle said to her boyfriend, both of them shivering at the thought. Liam leaned forward as the couple broke apart. "I'm sorry too." He said with a smirk, making Isabelle smack him on his back.
"You boys do remember I own a gun, right?"
"Vividly." Stiles nodded.
With Malia in the back the whole Jeep was crowded, making Liam pull his girlfriend onto his lap. Everyone turned to Malia at once. "What?" She asked.
"Did you find out yet?" Stiles asked.
"Find out what?" Liam asked, playing with the ends of Isabelle's hair.
"They're gonna email me." Malia said.
"Is this about summer school?" Liam asked.
Malia looked at her at Isabelle and then to Stiles, "you told him?" she asked the two.
"Oh, no, all they said was that you had to go to summer school 'cause the principal said your test scores weren't good enough and you might have to repeat junior year." Liam shrugged, Malia looked at her boyfriend and sighed.
"We should've left him chained to the tree."
"My dad's helping out in surgery. He's not gonna be done for hours. So i'm either hanging out here or I could still go with you guys..." Liam said.
Scott pressed the button to the hospital's elevator and turned to his beta. "Show me your hands." He said.
Liam looked around and tooks his hands out of his pocket, blood on the palms and fingers. "Okay. So I'm still having trouble." Liam admitted.
"No, you're still learning," Scott reassured. "What do you do to stay focused on not changing."
Liam looked to his girlfriend and then tugged on his headphones, "but neither of them are working."
"It's working enough. Listen, Derek told me that you were one of the strongest that he'd ever seen at your age."
Isabelle smirked, "that means a lot, considering Derek doesn't compliment anyone..."
"It might mean that things are gonna be harder for you for a while, but it also means something else, doesn't it?" Scott smiled.
"That I'm really strong?" Liam asked.
"Hell yeah." The siblings spoke in unison as the elevator door closed, leaving the couple.
Isabelle turned to her boyfriend and smirked. "Wanna find a supply closet and make out?" She asked, making him smirk back.
"Hell yeah."
Malia had pushed Liam to the ground, her hand on his chest as he groaned.
"Oh my God." Stiles spoking.
"Scott's in trouble." Liam panted.
The four raced down a flight of stairs, seeing Kira on the floor with someone, another person had their claws straight through Scott and he got to his knees and groaned. Stiles put his arm in front of Isabelle, knowing she would bolt to her brother any minute. Scott seemed weak until he placed his hand on the attacker, standing up and twisting his arm. The attacker was on the floor as Scott took his claws out of his chest.
"I don't know who you are or what you thought you were going to do, but I'll give you a choice. You can stay and I'll break something else. Or you can run." Scott said.
"I'd run." Stiles and Isabelle spoke.
Whoever attacked Scott ran off.
The pack got together, looking at the boy who helped Scott. He smirked, making eye contact with Isabelle, "You don't remember me, do you?" he asked.
Scott rose his eyebrows at the boy.
"I guess I looked a little different since the fourth grade."
"Theo?" the siblings spoke at the same time. The boy nodded in response.
"You know him?" Malia asked.
"They used to." Theo replied, smiling. "Trust me, I never thought I'd see you guys again. Couple of months ago I heard of an Alpha in Beacon Hills. When I found out his name was Scott McCall, just couldn't believe it. Not just an alpha, but a true alpha."
"What do you want?" Scott asked.
"I came back to Beacon Hills. Back home with my family. Because I want to be part of your pack."
I'M ABOUT TO FOK SHIT UP HOMIES WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
