I Want 'Goodbye'

'Idiot why would you send an emergency text chilling out on the sofa.'

Aarshabh left for Shatanika's house as the message reached his inbox. But here he lay on the couch with his head resting on its arms and feet dangling on its edge. Eating wafers from a packet as his eyes focused on the screen.

'And now you also eat garbage.'

He snatched the packet from him, taking a few and putting them on the console. His eyes squinted at him but turned back to put a hole into the screen with his sight.

He laid on the other couch as his shoulder let go of its stiff composture. 'Something is wrong with humans.'

When he saw no reaction from him, he groaned.

'They would meet hundreds of humans, cry over leaving and then again meet new people.'

'That's why we are here. To know why they are God's favourite.'

'They all are the same. They would go around blaming everything on the heavens yet we are the ones cursed.'

Shatnika sighed as he took the remote and turn off the TV.

'Aarshabh where were you?'

'A wedding.'

'And?'

'It's, all the same, every time. They would smile the whole day. Cry. Later fight. Blame others. '

He rested his head back and closed his eyes. Recalling those hundreds of years. 'Every day the same thing. Die. Born. Die. They have the choice yet choose the same.'

'What makes you work up? You are seeing it for hundreds of years. Not new.'

'I just want to say goodbyes. To that day. To you. To that curse.'

He closely observed Aarshabh as his eyes glanced at his shaking hand while others formed a tight grip on it.  'You are afraid.'

'I felt the lighting strike over the palm.

'She- is here.'

His eyes opened he shook his head. 'It could be a hallucination.'

'A Gandharva having hallucinations? You are living with humans. Not being one.'

He stood up. Striding to drive away.

'Where are you going?' He held a small card toward him. 'Here.'

It was the exhibition of his art. 'You are invited.'

'I wouldn't be there, no thank you.'

'It's an order. From above.'

His eyes softened as he stayed rooted. Until he turned to the gate and whispered before moving out. 'I am not afraid to love. I am afraid of fate.'

Gandharva: They are celestial beings  from the svarga(heavens)

It was a kind of prologue. It's a fantasy. Something I am trying new. Hope to see you there.
