Back Together

We pulled Cobra off the ground and raced past our assaulters. Laxus carried me through the hall as my gaze and hands pointed past his broad shoulder. I needed to stay focused on the soldiers even after we left them. Once we were far enough to not get any trouble from them, I relaxed and felt my eyes warm back up.

"Well, that was something," Sting panted. Laxus set me on my feet as Gajeel laid Cobra down. Wendy knelt beside the Poison Dragon Slayor's limp body before her hands extended to him and illuminated.

"Heal." She chanted, and his body was enveloped by her bright magic. We all watched patiently, a few of the boys' heads snapping from one end of the hall to the other cautiously.

All the while, I was amazed. I could not believe I just used magic. It felt incredible. I felt powerful. And I did what I needed to do to protect my friends. The thoughts almost made me giddy.

Moreover, I was standing in front of the Erik Cobra. I couldn't lie, I had a huge crush on him back on Earth. Of all the Dragon Slayor powers Hiro Mashima invented, his took me by the biggest surprise. He was so cool to me then...

Yet, now that I was standing in front of his unconscious self, surrounded by the most popular Dragon Slayors in the show, and in possession of Dragon Slayor magic myself... I didn't know why, but it was like he was just another anime character. Funny.

After a few more minutes, Cobra's wounds were healed and his eyes blinked open.

"Hey, man," Natsu grinned, waving down at him, "How was your weekend?" Cobra growled and smacked Natsu's hand out of his face.

"What the hell are you doing here, pyro?" He grumbled before looking at the others, "Wait... Did I get dragged to some stupid dragon reunion with you pleebs?"

"Who you callin' a pleeb, slippy?!" Natsu bellowed.

"Actually, Cobra, we were all dragged down here." Wendy interjected, "And I mean all essential guild members in Fiore."

Cobra furrowed his eyebrows, "Wait, what?"

Laxus sighed, "We've been set up," He said, "One of our own is after an abundance of magic power. We don't know why yet."

"Wait, it's a member of Fairy Tail?" Cobra asked incredulously, "Didn't peg you guys to be harboring Dark Mages."

"Hey, now," Natsu snarled, "You know damn well we're not that kind of guild. And it's not a Dark Mage anyway... We think it's someone we didn't expect."

"Someone you-" Cobra's words were cut short when his eyes landed on me. He looked me up and down before smirking, "Who's the new braud?"

I felt my face flush before Gajeel stepped next to me with a scowl on his face, "Not one to concern yourself with," He sneered, "She's with us."

Cobra raised his eyebrows, "You guys still recruiting?"

"Nah," Natsu said, "We've never chosen people. We welcome them."

Cobra rolled his eyes, "Yeah, yeah, all that cheesy shit. Look if you guys got this handled, then I'm gonna head out. I was in the middle of something before I got snagged."

"You think you'll be okay on your own?" Wendy asked, "Our only defense against these cyborgs is Jada." She points to me, and Cobra's gaze falls on me again before looking back at her.

"Yeah, I'll be fine, squirt," He said, patting Wendy's head, "Thanks for the help, though."

He saluted us before taking off in the opposite direction. The soldiers we encountered could have still been back there, so I was a bit apprehensive for him.

"He's such a lone wolf." Natsu mumbled.

"Hey, he may be off looking for Angel and the others." I shrugged, and Natsu shrugged back.

"Anyway," Laxus began, "I don't know about you guys but I'm smelling a lotta people ahead. No point in waiting here, let's go get them."

"Agreed," I said, "I remember seeing a Celestial hall before they knocked me out, along with a lot of other holder and castor-type halls."

"Celestial?" Natsu asked in interest. He turned to look down the hall in seriousness, "That means Lucy could be close by."

I smiled softly at his protective nature towards the blonde. A swirl of excitement erupted in me to know Natsu and Lucy would be together in front of me sooner than later. Furthermore, I would be meeting Lucy Heartfilia properly.

"Well then," Sting said after exchanging a nod with Rogue, "Let's get a move on."

We continued down the hallway until we got to a fork-in-the-road. Smelling everyone further down the left side, we turned that way and kept on until we got to the foot of some stairs. My body was beginning tire from all the running and speed-walking, but it was no where near as bad as my Earth body would've felt.

At the top of the stairs, we continued down a small corridor to get to an steel door. Gajeel put an ear to the door to hear for anything, but he frowned.

"Damn thing's sound proof." He grumbled, "There's no way of knowing if something's on the other side."

Natsu was about to bust it down, but I stopped him.

"We don't know if there are soldiers on the other side, Natsu." I reiterated, and he whined before pitifully punching the door. It left a small dent.

"How 'bout I chomp through it?" Gajeel suggested. I hummed in thought.

"That would make took much noise. It was our best bet before because it was our only one." Wendy said, and Gajeel humphed.

"She's right," Laxus nodded, "Stealth is our best option now. Jada may be our best bet, but she'll run out of magic if we do this recklessly. Plus, what if she can only control so many at once?" My eyes widened as I sweat-dropped. I didn't even think of that possibility.

"So what do we do?" Sting asked in confusion.

Nothing came to mind, and I was about to suggest we just go through and I shield us as best as I could, but Rogue stepped up.

"I can get through quietly." He said nonchalantly. Everyone looked at him in question, "I can take someone with me, but only one."

"Actually that could work," Sting snapped his fingers at him, "Take Jada over there first. She can hold off any bots that may be waiting, and then we can all just come through."

I felt my eyes glimmer, "I like that idea." I nodded.

Natsu furrowed his eyebrows, "You sure you don't want any back up?"

"Better for you guys to stay back and stay safe while we scope it out." I said, and he sighed in irritation.

"Fine, but be careful, yeah?" He asked, and I smiled at him and nodded, "If you're not back in five minutes, we'll come after you."

"Get a move on, you two." Gajeel said lowly, and Rogue and I nodded. I stepped up to him.

"Ready?" He said softly.

"Yeah." I replied, slightly intrigued by what his plan was. I'd forgotten the many parts of the Twin Dragons' powers, so when he wrapped an arm around me and pulled me close to him, my eyes widened in shock. And then suddenly, everything went black. It was such a strange feeling, like swimming in an infinitely black abyss. I couldn't see, hear, or smell. But I felt myself moving.

A few seconds later, I felt something solid against my back.

"Open your eyes, Jada." I heard Rogue say, and I opened them to see him in front of me. I looked around to see that we were leaning against a cobblestone wall, standing on the other side of the steel door. Rogue followed my eyes, and then I looked back at him.

"What just happened?" I asked in quiet ridicule. He smiled in humor.

"I manipulated our shadows to travel under the door." He whispered, and I gawked at him.

"Oh, yeaahhh." I replied lowly, smiling at him, "You can do that. But you can only do it with one more person? I thought it was unlimited?"

"Nah, here I can only manage one more. I could mess around and reconfigure someone's makeup if I get too overwhelmed." He explained, looking down the hallway, "We should get going, we only have five minutes before those idiots bust in here." I giggled slightly at his words and nodded.

I followed his gaze to see a striped hallway ahead of us. Around its corner, I could see that the hall was in the shape of a zig zag.

I could hear only one pair of heavy feet echoing down the end of that hall. Rogue looked back down at me and put a finger over his lips. I nodded, and he moved to stand beside me against the wall before we quietly crept down. We switched over to the other wall and continued until I could see the end of the hall. Rogue towered over me from behind and looked on as well.

The stationed cyborg was merely pacing back and forth, and it didn't sense us at all. I hoped my power could work from our distance, and I stood a little closer to the edge before raising my hand towards the bot. I felt Rogue grab my other forearm cautiously, and my eyes cooled as I prepared my command.

"Stop." I said, and the cyborg froze in place. I smiled as the hundreds of invisible pathways leapt into my hand, and we silently waited for any other sound to come. When we heard nothing approaching, I kept my eyes on the frozen bot and gave Rogue a thumbs up from the arm he grasped.

"Nice." He complimented, letting go of my arm. "We don't want any of his friends coming up from a ruckus. I'll go get the others. Bring them over one at a time."

"Okay." I replied quickly.

"Stay put."

"Where else am I gonna go?" I joked, and I heard him chuckle before he walked back to the steel door. One by one he brought our friends over, and they all leaned against the wall I stood in front of. Natsu came through lastly, and I heard him grinning as he raved.

"That is so fucking cool." He gushed over Rogue's ability.

"Shuddap, ya idiot." Gajeel said, walking up to me, "Not bad, kid." He commended me, and I smiled before stepping into the hallway after him, "Come on, let's go."

I kept my attention on the cyborg as we made it quietly past him. I heard Natsu blow raspberries at it as we turned the corner.

"Hey, Jada, it's those labels you were talking about!" Wendy whisper-shouted. I walked backwards, keeping my eyes trained on the creature as I followed them.

"Holder, Celestial. Lucy's gotta be down this hall!" Natsu whisper-shouted.

"Yukino, too." Sting cheesed, and I heard Rogue grunt.

"Go on down," I whispered to them, "Once we're out of his line of sight, I think we'll be good."

"Okay." Wendy replied, and I heard them huddle down the hallway. As I walked backwards, I found it hard to check for the entrance of the hallway without breaking my link. I then felt a hand grab my forearm, and my eyes widened as I was led in the right direction.

When we made it behind the wall, I turned to see Rogue. I blushed as my eyes warmed back up and the paths left my arm.

I smiled, "Thanks, partner."

He half-smiled and hummed in response. He seemed kinda shy. Or at least shyer than how I perceived him in the show. He followed after the group, and I kept pace with him as we went down the Celestial hall.

The smell of people became more pronounced the closer we drew in, and much sooner than later, the cells came into view.

"Let's split," Laxus suggested, "We'll cover more ground." We all nodded.

"Wendy and I can look for Lucy." I said, and Natsu looked a bit apprehensive but agreed.

"Probably for the best. I can smell Princess Jade around here." He said, "How the hell could she have gotten captured?"

"Hey, Lisanna took control of seven of Fiore's biggest guilds. I wouldn't put it past her to lure the princess away and snag her." I replied, and Natsu's face stayed thoughtful. I frowned before putting a hand on his shoulder, "Hey," I said and he looked at me, "I'm sorry... I'm sure there's a reason behind all of this. We'll figure it out."

"You bet we will." He half-smiled. He turned his attention to Laxus and Gajeel, "You guys comin?" They nodded.

"We'll look for Yukino." Sting declared with Rogue at his side. We all saluted one another before heading off towards particular scents. I scoured the air for Lucy's vanilla parfum.

I had to say, even if we split up, there were over a hundred cells on that hall. And we couldn't call out their names, because that would cause the soldiers to come. Wendy thought we should split up further, but I refused. If she happened upon a soldier without me there, she'd be screwed. I then began to worry about the boys, but Wendy kept me focused and assured me they would be alright.

We turned a corner for the millionth time, and as I worried we wouldn't be able to find our way out of that maze, my gaze fell on a delicate fair hand sticking out of a cell. There was a pink Fairy Tail emblem stamped on the back of it.

I nudged Wendy, and her gaze followed mine before we looked at one another in relief and sprinted towards the cell.

"Lucy?" I whispered into the dark chamber. She was leaning against the bars of the cell, her eyes closed and her mouth wide open in sleep. I snorted at her expression, and Wendy poked at her hand until she stirred. She groaned irritatedly.

"Natsu, get out of my room..." She mumbled, and Wendy and I had to cover our mouths to keep from laughing.

"Lucy, wake up." I said a bit louder, poking at her head. Her eyes clenched tighter before they opened. Her gaze drifted until she saw me and Wendy, and she blinked repeatedly before her mouth opened. I covered her mouth just before she screeched in shock and glee.

"Wendy! Jay!" She exclaimed behind my hand. Wendy and I continued to shush her until her excitement died down.

"Please, girl, stop shrieking." I begged quietly, "We're gonna get you outta here."

I removed my hand, and her voice lowered exponentially, "Holy shit! How did you guys find me? Where is everyone? How did you find each other?"

"We're Dragon Slayors, Lucy, we have the noses of greyhounds." I replied. Lucy stiffened.

"So... you know?" She asked. I sighed.

"Yeah, and thanks so much for telling me." I replied.

"Oh, we just didn't want to overwhelm you, Jay. I'm so sorry. That's a lot of magic for someone who had no idea magic even existed." She explained, "Plus, how were we supposed to know if you knowing your magic type would bring back any memories to hurt us or not?"

"So Laxus was right, they didn't trust me." I said to Wendy with a straight face. Lucy's face straightened.

"Laxus?" She asked in confusion.

"The dumbasses put all of us in the same cell." I replied. She squinted at the stupidity of such an act.

"Talk about a total flop." She mumbled.

"But, hey, look. My power isn't the only thing I've come to know about." I said, and she raised an eyebrow at me, "I remember. Everything. Where I come from, who I am, who you all are to me."

Her eyes widen again, "No way..." She breathed.

"Hang on, Jada, let me get her out and we can talk later." Wendy insisted, and I nodded.

"Wait, Jada... That's your name? Ha! We weren't too far off!" Lucy laughed in pride, "I'm so happy for you, Jay."

"Thanks, Luce." I smiled back.

"Hey, Lucy, take a step back." Wendy asked softly, and Lucy nodded before sliding back in her seat. Wendy stood erect, "Sky Dragon Wing Attack!" She chanted as quietly as possible, swiping against the cell with her arms and making a gaping hole for Lucy to slide out of.

"Gee, it's about time you guys showed up." Lucy cried, "I've been hearing nothing but cries of defeat within these halls every night!"

"You sure you weren't one of them?" I said jokingly.

"Now, hang on, don't go getting sassy 'cuz you got your memory back!" She retorted, and I giggled at her explosive personality, "So, what's up? What triggered it all?"

I thought back, "Well, funny enough, something sparked in me after I saw Natsu... I don't really understand that, but at first I just felt like I knew him from somewhere. And then, I remembered seeing him in my world... on a television screen." I mumbled. Lucy's eyes widened.

"Excuse me?" She gasped.

"It's true, Luce," Wendy chimed in, "Apparently, in Jada's dimension, we're all from a Japanese cartoon called 'Fairy Tail.'"

Lucy's jaw dropped, "Whoa, whoa, whoa... We have a show?"

"Yeah," I said, "My friends and I watched it almost religiously. We're huge fans. I know all of you already."

"Hm..." Lucy hummed skeptically, "How did I get my name then?"

I smirked, "Your mother, Layla, and father, Jude, resided in the guild, Love and Lucky. The K in Lucky fell off of the guild sign when your mother was pregnant with you, and it read Lucy. So, they named you that." I said confidently.

Lucy and Wendy stood with wide eyes and gaping mouths.

"You..." Lucy trailed off before breathing out, "Okay, um... That's a little crazy."

I made a straight face in thought, "Still... I'm curious as to how Natsu triggered my memories..."

"Was he special to you in the show?" Wendy asked.

"Oh, he's my favorite character." I replied easily, and Lucy sweat-dropped.

"Oh, gee, thanks..." She mumbled glumly.

"Sorry, Luce, that guy is just awesome." I shrugged.

"Well, maybe that's why." Wendy said, and I raised my eyebrow, "You clearly loved the show. If he's your favorite character, he's had such an imprint on your mind the mere recognition of him awakened everything else like a domino effect."

I tilted my head at her hypothesis. It seemed kind of possible, a little incredible, but worth consideration.

"Funny enough, I could've restored your memory if we met outside of that cell." Wendy smiled nervously. I sweat-dropped.

"Yeah, that would have made things easier to explain." I chuckled, "Maybe after all of this you can help bring back the minute things?"

"Sounds like a plan." She said.

"Well, what else is there to know?" Lucy asked, "I'd like the gory details of your past later, but for now... does anyone know who we're fighting against?"

Wendy and I looked at one another and sighed sadly.

Lucy raised an eyebrow, "What's the matter?"

I looked back to her, preparing to tell her before Natsu's scent hit my nose. I turned my head to the end of the hallway, and Wendy did the same. Gajeel, Laxus, Sting, Rogue, and two new scents came right after.

I sighed, "They must have found the others." I said, and Wendy nodded. Lucy looked at us in confusion.

"Who's coming?" She asked, tensing for a fight. I smiled at her.

"Don't worry, it's just the others," I assured her, "Why don't we talk about all of this with everyone?" I asked, looking down the hall to see so many mages in cells still, "We need to find our friends, end this, and then help as many others as we can."

Lucy nodded in agreement.

"Yes," She said as the guys rounded the corner to us, "Yes, we do."

~~~
"Hello, Yukino, I'm sure Sting and Rogue have told you a bit about me," I said to the pretty whitette, and she nodded with a soft smile, "Let me just say, I'm a big fan." I said, and extended my hand for her to shake.
She pulled me into a hug instead. I tensed at first, but then smiled widely and hugged her back, "Thank you, Jay." She said to me, "Any friend of Fairy Tail is a friend of mine."
I nodded before pulling away from her. She turned to Lucy, who had been embracing Princess Jade before the two wrapped their arms around one another tightly. They laughed happily, glad to be out of containment. I couldn't believe how lucky I was to have played a part in their freedom, the two Celestial Spirit Wizards with all of the world's gold spirit keys.
"Jada," Princess Jade approached me with an appreciative smile, "We owe quite a debt. That's some power you have. Thank you for helping us."
I smiled at her, "You guys have helped me more than you could ever know... Even in my world, you were all my family."
"Damn straight," Natsu grinned, attacking me in a hug, "I don't know about you guys," He said as he let me down, "But I think we're missing some people. Why don't we go get them back?" We all nodded in determination and headed towards the direction of the others.
We snuck down to the Castor, Maker hall to find Gray and Laki. I told the others that Lamia Scale was brainwashed, so Lyon was mostly likely not down the hall. We grabbed the Ice and Wood Wizards successfully.
"About time." Gray mumbled, "What? Did you guys stop for breakfast?"
"Oh, shuddit ya strip-freak! We've been busting our asses for nearly two hours now!" Natsu shot back. Oh, how I wanted some popcorn right then. I'd always dreamed to watch Gray and Natsu going off on one another in person.
My glee was cut short when Laxus whacked them on the heads in less than a second, "Hey, idiots, this job is hard enough without you two wasting time. Now let's go."
"Y-Yessir." They mumbled as lumps grew on their heads. Hell, if I didn't know any better I'd say Laxus packed a punch as heavy as Erza's.
Speaking of Erza, the Castor, Requip hall came next. Natsu broke her out of her cage as quietly impossible... But he still demolished the neighboring cells around her.
"You absolute idiot." Erza sneered, harshly swatting him to the ground before stepping over his quivering form to hug the rest of us, "Glad to see you made it out safely," She said to me.
"Yeah, and God, do I have some stuff to tell you," I replied as she embraced me, "I wouldn't have made it if it weren't for you. Thanks, Erza."
She pulled away and smiled at me, "It's no problem at all."
Next, we went down each Castor, Element hall.
Gray found Juvia, and Erza found Evergreen.
"Oh, my darling Gray! Are you hurt? Did they torture you? Juvia has been worried sick!" Juvia cried out as she threw her arms around her neck. He patted her head kindly and assured her that he was fine.
"I'm all good, Juvia. Glad to see you're doing okay, too." He replied, and her eyes turned into hearts. Her gaze then drifted to the rest of us. When she saw me, a smile grew on to her face.
"Oh, Miss Jay! Juvia is so happy to see you're alright!" She said, moving to hug me as I did her. I smiled into her embrace, her aura sending me into a calm like her water did.
"You too, Juvia, I missed you." I replied, and she pulled away to look at me.
"How are your memories? Anything yet?" She asked.
"Everything." I replied, and her eyes widened. I turned to my fellow Dragon Slayors, "I also found my crowd."
She looked at them and then back at me, "So, you know?" My eyebrows furrowed at her words. And then, when I realized she had known of my powers as well, my eyes widened.
"You did know?!" I exclaimed, and she made a straight face. I scoffed before looking at the others, "Who all knew?"
Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Juvia raised their hands.
"Levy and Mira, too. Levy helped scan you... And I personally couldn't keep it from Mira," Lucy confessed, and my eyes widened, "Maybe Elfman as well."
I shook my head, looking back to Juvia, "You're a fantastic liar." I commended, recalling how easily I believed she knew nothing of my powers. She laughed.
"Imagine keeping someone's magical abilities a secret from them," Natsu shot at Lucy, "Psh, couldn't be me."
"Yeah, 'cuz you're so impulsive you can't keep your stupid mouth shut." She shot back at him, "We only did it to keep her calm. We didn't want to-"
"Overwhelm me, yeah, yeah, I know." I finished for her, "It's cool, I'm not upset. It's just a little weird that so many of you knew before me."
"Well, now you know the truth," Wendy said, stepping up to hug on to my arm, "I only hope to be there while you evolve."
I smiled back at her, until something hit me. To evolve in my magic, I would have to stay in Earthland... What would happen after we dealt with Lisanna? Would I go back home? Would I want to? I couldn't remember specific things, but the general things were enough to let me know I had a life on Earth. Did that mean I couldn't have one in Earthland?
The thoughts filled my head as the team dragged me through the halls further. Eventually, we got Levy, much to Gajeel's satisfaction. Orga and Rufus came next. Jellal and Melody after that. For a moment I wondered where Ultear was... but then I remembered her grand sacrifice after the Grand Magic Games arc. I hated that I had missed the chance to meet her.
But what knocked me out of my anxious thoughts was when we got to the Castor, Take Over hall. I couldn't believe Lisanna put her own siblings in those cells. It made me sick to my stomach. I saw the look on Natsu's face and knew he felt the same. The truth was beginning to sink in for him, little by little.
We knew we would have to tell them. But we wished to do it with everyone present. It wasn't exactly news we wanted to disclose more than once.
"Well, we have Team Natsu back." Natsu said as we all hid with a desolate hallway.
"Yeah," Gray nodded, "Since we do, how about we go find the cats?" At first, the idea of meeting Happy, Carla, and Pantherlily sent excitement through my system. And in the next moment, a gasp slipped my lips, and the others turned to me.
"Sapphire..." I breathed, raising a hand to my head in remembrance.
"What's wrong, Jada?" Natsu asked worriedly.
"I... I have someone... an exceed... I have to go get her." I said anxiously. Natsu grinned, impressed.
"Damn, you work fast. You already scored an exceed? That's faster than Gajeel ever did." He cheesed, causing Gajeel's aura to turn blue.
"When everything was going to hell, I promised someone to protect her..." I said, and his face softened. He put a hand on my shoulder.
"Well, that settles it, huh?" He asked, and I raised an eyebrow, "You made a promise to someone important? Fairy Tail mages keep their promises. It's simple, we'll find her."
I smiled at him in gratitude and determination.
Natsu smiled back, "Plus, it's time to get Happy back." He stood erect, "You guys can go look for the rest of the guild, right?" He asked everyone else. They all nodded.
"I'll go find Gramps. Keep your noses sharp!" Laxus said before taking off in another direction. Everyone split off into teams, turning in every other direction to get to the next magic hall. I was about follow Juvia and Gajeel, but Natsu grabbed my arm.
"Where do you think you're going?" He said, smiling. I blinked.
"I'm going with the others. Team Natsu has to go get the exceeds." I reiterated. He put both hands on my shoulders and furrowed his eyebrows.
"But you wanted to get your friend back." He reminded me, although I thought he was saying his team was going to get her for me, "Wouldn't make sense to promise to protect her and not go get her. Also, news flash... you are a part of Team Natsu."
I gasped and blinked twice, "Come again?" I asked.
He laughed and ruffled my hair, messing up my ponytail, "You're part of our team now, kid." I stared at him, then Lucy, then Gray, then Erza, and finally Wendy. They all nodded at me in approval, and I looked back at Natsu as my eyes started to brim with tears.
"You understand this is all I've ever wanted in the show?" I asked him in shock. He smiled sweetly at me.
"Well, what can we say?" He shrugged before crossing his arms. Lucy stepped up to rest her elbow on his shoulder.
"Fairy Tail makes dreams come true." She said.
