Chapter twenty-one
(EyesOfAmethyst sorry this took so long! But look! A new ship!)
"Ugh, I'm so sleepy. . ." I murmur with a yawn. I had spent about three hours with Chase last night doing taxes. I don't know how it escalated so quickly. At first I was just going to help out with one or two problems but then it suddenly became the whole pile. I humfped and cracked my neck. Man. I was supposed to kill him. How did I end up helping him? Sighing, I turn my sights back to the dummy I was attacking. I could feel Elias's cold gaze penetrate the back of my head and I let out an involuntary shiver. I still haven't gotten any sense in why her acts the way he does. Every time I ask him, he just stares at me and says "What about the way I act?" Or something like that and generally confuses me.
I like knowing things. I like knowing about people and what their past is, so I know what to expect around them. Not knowing annoys me. Amethyst says I'm a gossip, and I won't lie, that's true. I don't like the eerie sense of deathly cold Elias has around him. Slashing upwards, I swiftly make a large cut upwards the dummy's face with one of my daggers. Bringing it down, I embedded the blade into the top of it's head. Elias walked up to it, inspecting my handy work with a blank face. I stand back and watch him, tapping my foot impatiently. After a few seconds he nodded and then turned to me. "You have improved," He said. "You seem to have mastered this particular weapon. We shall now move on to swords." Holding in a groan, I turn and begin walking towards the door to the guard tower when Elias stopped me. "Aira Heart." I turn back to him and cross my arms. "Yeah?" "Your weight," I felt slightly surprised which was quickly over taken with anger. "What about it?"
"You lost some am I correct?"I nod, wondering what he was getting at. "You need to gain some." I gap at him, throughly confused. Was this guy seriously telling me to gain weight? I'm already bigger then what guys usually find attractive; I'm by no means overweight but my body type was curvy so I was bigger. It took me forever to stop comparing myself to Amethyst with her petite little body and thin curves, and now this guy was telling me to gain weight? "What?" She asked, baffled. "You- you want me too gain weight? Why?" He looked her up and down quickly and blinked.
"Your body type is bigger then some girls, which is ideal for fighting. Your type might help balance out your hight, which is short. In a fight, it can be used to your advantage. However, with your body type, your current weight seems to have diminished to what seems to be unhealthy. If you are worrying about your weight, then forget it. Your weight was fine the way it was before." I stare it him. He said all of this, his face still as expressionless as before. I honestly didn't know how to answer that. No one aside from Amethyst and my mom really talk about my weight. It was weird to hear the words of reassurance from a guy.
"Have you been checking me out?" I immediately cringe at my words. If anyone was checking someone out, Elias would be the absolute last person to do it. He doesn't even show emotion when he's being hit. Elias stared at me, eyes empty as ever. "I do not "check people out" Aira Heart. I am stating a fact. You should gain weight. That is what I am saying." Again, not knowing how to answer, I turn and go back into the guard tower. For the next hour I wouldn't talk to Elias and only focused on the new long sword I had to use for training. When Amethyst came at the end of the hour to walk with me back to Dixie's house, I was relieved to finally be able to go back to sleep. As I put away my long sword, Amethyst began ranting about her day.
"So then Liam and Kip started talking to each other and Kip was totally blushing but Liam didn't notice so," She rambled on. I tried to listen, but I honestly just spaced out while she talked. "Chase was acting a bit weird today actually," This grabbed my attention. "Oh yeah?" I ask, trying to keep my voice flat. She nodded and ran her fingers through her hair. "Yeah. While we were hanging out in the music room of the house, he kept getting distracted and muttered to himself. I don't know what was going on with him but he seemed out of it." I snorted. "And. . . I'm supposed to care, why?" She gave an aggravated sigh at my snarky remark. "You'll understand when you get a boyfriend."
"What if I'm interested in girls?" She gave me a look. "Or girlfriend." She added. "Amethyst Firethief." Elias walked in and looked at Amethyst. "Are you encouraging Aira Heart with her weight loss?" Amethyst made a mystified expression. I tried to signal her not to answer, but she either didn't notice or didn't care. "Uh yeah why?"
"I would appreciate it if you stopped." "Elias shut up!" I growl, stomping my feet. Amethyst looked extremely confused and was looking between us. "Why?" I tell her that Elias was just being stupid, but my words immediately caught in my throat when I felt him put his hands on my waist. "AAAHHH!!!" I screech and begin fighting to get free. Elias however, held me firmly in place. "Her waist is small as it is. With her body type, that is supposedly normal. However with all her training, I take it she has not been consuming enough calories and has lost more weight than necessary. Please make sure she eats more. Perhaps make her eat something when you get back too Dixie Whit's house." He released me and I spin around and hit him over the head then promptly run away.
"Ari!! Ari!! AAAAARRRRRIIIII!!!!" Amethyst called in a sing song voice. What?! I call back irritably, not looking up from my book. We were back at Dixie's house and I, as always, had my nose buried in a book, trying to forget what Elias- NO. BAD BRAIN. STOP THINKING ABOUT IT.
Felintas in many ways are similar too cats. Like cats, they possess an uncanny ability to see in the dark -
"Aira! Get your butt down here!!" I groan and toss my book aside. Going downstairs, I catch a whiff of something that seemed like it was slightly burning. Alarmed, I quicken my pace downstairs. "Am? Ammy? You alright?" I burst into the kitchen, panicked. Amethyst calmly turned to me. "Yup. I'm fine." Apparently she had starting burning a piece of paper to make me get down here quicker. "Your evil." I mutter as she blew out the paper. She rolls her eyes. "You wouldn't have come down here if I didn't do that and you know it." I open my mouth to reply but she stuffed a large hunk of bread smothered in melted chocolate into my mouth. I sputter and pull out the bread, trying not to choke. "What are you doing?!" I wheeze and cough violently.
"You heard your new ship- I mean Elias," She corrected herself with a coy smile. "I'm in charge of feeding you." "New ship?!" She giggled. "Amethyst no!! Don't go starting new ships! Actually don't ship me in general!" "I don't know what you mean," She said smoothly and began getting herself a piece of bread. I curse and cram the bread into my mouth. Great. Now she's shipping me with Elias.
