"Hai, Leader-sama" I bowed. We had got back and I waited outside the extraction cave as guard for three days. When the extraction process was finished Pein stayed behind to talk to Deidara, Tobi and me about the talking to the tailed beast incident. Ever since Tobi let it slip that I took down the tailed beast myself; everyone has been very interested in how I managed to do it. I wish I could explain it, but I'm not entirely sure myself and there is no one left out of my clan that I know of so I can't ask anyone what happened. I was now being put on a team with Itachi and Kisame to help capture the four tails as Pein thinks my talent for controlling tailed beasts should help them catch it quicker. I started to make my way out with Deidara and Tobi. I looked around and saw Deidara clearly pissed off that I was teamed with Itachi and he was stuck with Tobi to go find a scroll. I give him a reassuring smile and waved at them both as I made my way to where Itachi and Kisame told me to meet them, this should be fun. I like Itachi and Kisame, but Itachi barely ever talks and Kisame just wants to fight and kill everyone which I kind of get annoyed at him for. I sighed and leaped through the trees to get to them as fast as I could, according to them we weren't that far away from each other so if I just keep up this pace I should meet them in about an hour or two.

"Ahhhh" I heard someone scream after about an hour of running.

"Stay out of it Kootoni, you will just get yourself into trouble" I mumbled to myself.

"Mummy!" a high-pitched voice squealed.

"Damn it" I swore to myself as I started heading in their direction. I jumped down pushing the small girl out of the way of an incoming kunai attack. I hid behind a tree and told her to be quiet and hide here while I save her mother and brother. I made a clone to stay with her and then jumped out from behind the tree.

"Stay out of this little girl!" one of the men threatened me. I grew instantly annoyed and threw a kunai at the one holding the boy up in the air by the throat. He jumped out of the way and dropped the boy in the process.

"I wouldn't underestimate me if I were you!" I smirked making him get very angry.

"Why you little brat!" he yelled while charging at me with a kunai in hand. I moved slightly to the left and he tripped over my foot that I put out in front of him.

"You're not very skilled, are you?" I laughed taunting him. Then, the other man came running towards me while a big guy stood back and watched his teammates fight. I turned around at the last second and hit the man coming up from behind me then threw him into the one charging into me. I used a genjutsu on both and they froze on the floor. I then turned my attention to the guy behind them. He was tall had black hair and had an incredibly strong chakra.

"Those unreliable fools. I told them to fall back, but I guess you have to everything yourself nowadays" he chuckled darkly. I took a fighting stance as he laid down the things he had stolen and got ready to fight me.

"Who are you and what do you want with these people?" I asked my voice slightly cracking at how intimidating this guy was.

"I was just grabbing a few gold coins and items, but decided I wanted to recruit the boy as well. However, the woman was stupid and tried to help him failing miserably. Now she lies dying on the floor, how pathetic!" he laughed and I turned around to see the boy trying to stop his mother from bleeding out too much. I turned back to the man and saw a stream of fire heading straight for me. I quickly did hand signs and I used my water release to put it out and he stopped it from hitting him by making a wall of earth go in front of him. Good so he is an earth user too, I guess I  can test out my new technique out on him. I put my hands into the ground and made lightning travel through the ground and it hit him from underneath I smiled, but my smile dropped when he poofed away. I turned around and he punched me into a tree causing it to split in half. I fell to the ground with a thud my body ached all over and I could tell he had broken some of my bones, what is this guy? He was about to swing his sword at me, but turned around and stabbed through my clone that was approaching him from behind.

"Silly girl!" he declared. He swung his sword again and all I could do was move to the side. He just swung at me faster this time and I managed to pull out my sword and stopped his attack. He pushed down hard and the two blades where getting closer and closer to my face. Then, the man fell to the ground on top of me. I looked up behind him and saw..

"Mum!?!" I whispered barely audible. "How- How? You.. You're dead! I saw you, you.. you died!!" I stuttered in complete and utter disbelief. She just smiled at me while kneeling down to push the man off me and started to heal my broken bones. I just lay there incredibly still, mouth agape and eyes wide staring at her. My eyes started to tear up and I couldn't help, but reach out to touch her and make sure she was actually there. I touched her cheek and she looked down at me smiling.

"It's really you!" I whispered.

"Yes darling. I'm sorry, but I will explain everything in due time" she said calmly and then turned around and started to heal the woman behind me. The little girl came out of her hiding place and hugged onto her brother as they watched my mother heal theirs. When the wound was completely healed my mother gave them back their belongings and told them to find somewhere safe to stay for the night. She then turned back to me and started laughing and I gave her a confused look.."Are you going to get up or are you just going to lie on the floor of the forest all day?" she questioned me. I got up still staring at her in disbelief.

"Kootoni, are you ok darling?" she said clearly worried. I ran to her and hugged her tightly and was laughing hysterically tears rolling down my cheeks. "Shh it's ok sweat heart" she soothed. I then got over the happiness and started to feel the anger that I held in for all these years burst out.

"You were alive all this time and never told me? How could you? Have you any idea how hard it's been for me since you died?! Why! Why would you do this to me?" I yelled at the top of my lungs.

She looked at me sadly and then calmly stated, "How about, we take a walk and I will tell you all about why and how I did what I did". I looked up at her and managed to nod. We started walking deeper into the forest and she started to tell me her tale.

"Some men had taken an interest in our clan's Kekkai Genkai and tried to come for me. I fought them off, but they vowed to be back and told me they would take you as hostage so I would have to come with them. I couldn't let that happen to you so I had to fake my death. I'm sorry I didn't come find you when it was safe, I only just recently found out your father had kicked you out. I swear I thought he would take you in after I died, I guess I didn't realise how much he hated and blamed you for your brother's death" She looked saddened and I held her hand to comfort her while she continued. "I ran away from the village to find the rest of some of our clan members which had scattered across the world in the hope that one day we could reunite and that finally you and I would be together. I love you dear and I'm so sorry, please don't hate me. I really did it for..." She stopped talking when she saw that I had stopped walking with her.

"Who are you really? Don't lie to me" She isn't my mother, I was stupid to believe her and reckless to not check her chakra.

"What.. What do you mean darling?" she tried to act confused.

"Don't act like you don't know, I'm not stupid. First, my mother knew how much my father despised me, but I just ignored that thinking it was a slip of the tongue. Second they had already tried to take me when I was younger and they told me they knew you had used your Kekkai Genkai already so they wouldn't want to take you, but once again it could have just been someone different that wanted to take you. What really got me was when you said that you wanted the clan back together again. My mum was someone who was completely against that idea, she thought it was too dangerous to have us all in one place and told me to never try to find other clan members as it would just put their lives in jeopardy. So who are you really? Answer me now!!" I shouted the last part getting very angry, but mainly at myself for falling for such a pathetic trick.

"I'm sorry" the imposter said. Sorry? She's just going to say sorry and not explain anything to me. Wait.. I turned around and noticed I was surrounded.

"What have you done? Who are you? What's going on?" I asked frantically looking for some answers.

"We recovered the memories you took away from her and she used them against you" a deep voice said from behind me.

"I took away? What are you...." I stopped realizing who it was and stared at her in shock. She undid the jutsu surrounding her and there stood Akari. "Why? I left to keep my family safe, I made my own father forget who I was so that you and your children would be safe from harm. Why? Do you hate me that much?" I questioned now realizing that if she remembers, then does that mean that my father and siblings remember now too? How did this man catch her? Are the rest safe? So many questions whirled through my head.

"I don't hate you Kootoni and I'm so thankful that you would do something so selfless for the good of my family, of our family. Unfortunately these men came knowing information about you and they took your brother and sister and.. they killed your father" She cried. They.. They killed him?! I felt tears trickle down my face, my heart ached at the thought of my father dying and he died because of me! "Kioshi and Kiyomi got away, but they took Mamoru. They took my baby and wouldn't give him back unless i gave them you.. I'm sorry" she choked the last part out. I nodded and dropped my weapons surrendering while she looked at me with shock.

"I give up on one condition. You let Mamoru and Akari leave safely and never go after them or Kioshi or Kiyomi again" I bargained turning around to face the man who spoke to me before.

"Deal, men  tie her up and Daichi put her out using your special jutsu" The men nodded and started to do what he said. In a matter of seconds I was tide up and then I felt an unimaginable pain causing me to scream in agony at the top of my lungs before blacking out.
