Hi Livs mom

"Mom, I need to go, someone just walked in." Olivia said to her mom seeing her favorite customer come into the store.

"Oh you never have time for this old lady anymore. Stay safe honey, love you." Liv's mom says through the phone.

"Love you too."

Olivia hangs up the phone and goes to greet him.

"If I am not mistaken you have lunch right now, so let's have lunch." Rudy said, holding a bag of food.

"Hello to you too and how do you know when I take my lunch?" Olivia asked him.

"Because I came here one day and you weren't here so I asked where you were and the dude said you were at lunch. He doesn't even know anything about flowers." Rudy said, rolling his eyes.

"That was probably Chris. His parents own the store and he's forced to work here." Olivia said, shaking her head.

"He needs to get fired. He told me a tulip was a daisy last week."

"Yeah he's not the brightest."

"I can tell."

"Rudy!"

"Sorry not sorry. But who were you talking to before" Rudy asked, setting the bag down on the counter and leaning his elbows on it.

"My mom." Liv said, taking the bag and opening it up to reveal sandwiches, fruit, and water.

"Ooooo let me say hi." Rudy said, grabbing a sandwich and taking a bite.

"No."

"Bruh. Let me say hi. What did I ever do wrong?" Rudy says, putting a hand over his heart.

"Bruh, because she doesn't know you, that's why." Olivia said, rolling her eyes, taking a strawberry.

"Well she would know me if you put me on the phone. Duh. I thought you were smarter than this Liv." Rudy says, grabbing her phone from the counter and shoving it in her face waiting for her to unlock it.

"You aren't giving up are you?" the blonde asked, taking her phone from him and unlocking it for him.

"Hmmmmm let's see where are you Olivia's mom." Rudy said going to her recent calls. Once he finds it he hits the facetime button and the call connects immediately.

"Who the fuck are you?"

"Hi Liv's mom. I'm her friend Rudy." Rudy said with a mouthful of sandwich in his mouth smiling at the screen.

Since when did we become friends?

"Well it's nice to meet my daughter's friend but where is she?" her mom asked.

"Right here." Rudy says turning the camera around to face Liv as she waves her hand saying a brief hi to her mom.

"Oh shit she's turning red I should go. Ah shit I said shit in front of your mom. Fuck I did it again. Damn it okay I'm gonna stop talking now." Rudy said, also turning red from embarrassment.

"Rudy honey, let me talk to Liv really fast." Olivia's mom says, and Rudy just gives her the phone looking like a child just got caught stealing cookies when they weren't supposed to.

"Keep him." Was the only thing her mom said before hanging up leaving Olivia stunned. Turning off her phone, she put it away and listened to the music in the background and enjoyed her lunch with Rudy until someone walked into the store.

"Olivia my sweetheart how are you? Oh now who is this handsome young man? Oh my goodness, this is your boyfriend." The lady says cupping Olivia's cheeks and kissing her forehead.

"Hi Lily I'm good but he isnt my boyfriend, just my friend. I would tell you if I had a boyfriend." Olivia says, smiling at the old woman in front of her.

Lily was a regular at the store who was basically Olivia's grandma. Not by blood anyway. Lilly has kids but none of them have children so she calls Olivia her grandchild and Olivia calls her grandma all the time. Grandma Lily is one of the reasons Liv sticks around at this shop. The memories her and Lily have here can last a lifetime.

"Well don't let this one get away." Lily says going to get some tulips.

"Don't mind me continue the date." Lily says going to look at more flowers.

"Grandma, I said this isn't a date." Liv says

Lily waves them off and mumbles 'whatever you need to tell yourself'

"Is that your grandma?" Rudy asked

"Not biologically. I don't have a grandma and she doesn't have any grandkids and she likes to make sure I'm okay here since it's just me." Olivia says, looking at Lily and then back to Rudy.

"If you don't mind me asking, where are your parents?" Rudy asked.

"Not here obviously. But they live in New York and I didn't want to live there anymore so I moved here, met my friend and we moved in together. So I guess it's us and Lily. Well now you I suppose." Oliva says, taking a sip from her water.

"Lets play 21 questions but I ask the first seven and you ask the other 7" Rudy suggests.

"Alright let me just see how Lily is doing."  Liv turns around expecting to find Lily but she's not there. Only a note and money on the table.

I didn't want to disturb you guys. Tell that man he is very handsome and if I was younger I would shoot my shot. But shoot yours before it's too late sweetheart.
I'm bringing cookies tomorrow as well so be prepared to have an empty stomach.

Rudy puts his head on her shoulders and reads the note as well laughing at the comment.

"Grandma Lily is my new favorite person." Rudy says, grabbing one of Livs pieces of fruit.

"I don't know how I will recover from that comment." Liv says, putting a hand on her forehead pretending to faint.

"Well you are gonna have to." Rudy says with a nod of his head.

"Fine. So are we playing 21 questions or what?" Liv asked

"Yep, let's see. We will start off simple, what is your favorite color?" Rudy asked

"Yellow"

"Favorite food"

"Lasagna from Lily"

"First impression of me?"

"Goofball and I was right."

"Hey I'm not a goofball" Rudy exclaimed, pouting like a child.

"Sure you aren't."

"I'm not!" Rudy said stomping his foot

"You are so weird." Liv says, rolling her eyes.

"Yeah but you can't get enough of me or these bad boys." Rudy says, flexing his muscles.

"Sure we can go with that." Liv smiles when she sees Rudy gasp.

"Hurtful." Rudy says, wiping a fake tear from his eye.

"Shoot, I need to close the store." Olivia says cleaning up the garbage and flipping the sign to close.

"I'll help," Rudy said, taking the garbage from Liv's hands and throwing it out and cleaning the counter from the crumbs.

"I can't believe I've been here almost all day. Call me an unpaid worker man this was exhausting" Rudy said wiping the imaginary sweat from his forehead.

"You did nothing but talk to me all day." Liv says grab her bag and walk out the door with Rudy.

"Have a good night, Miss Olivia. I will be here for those cookies tomorrow." Rudy said, going to his car.

"I'm sure you will Rudy." Olivia says waving to him before getting in her car and driving off to her apartment.
