Chapter 5
((^ ^ idk why that's up there I love Toothless))
Raina stomped forwards, her scales flashing red and orange. Storm and Shadow had both been very useless in every possible way. Raina would not have Shadowstalker complaining about Raina's plan to go to the SeaWings summer palace, or Storm being so loud she couldn't sleep, that was something that happened in the Rainforest a lot.
"Raina, how are you planning to get to the palace without you flying?" Shadow asked, pestering for about the thousandth time that day.
"You could teach me!" Raina screamed, turning around to face the NightWing dragonet.
"Riiiiightt, um...oh, look Storm caught some fish, you look starved. Please come have some." Shadow ran off towards where Storm was, she had a pile of raw fish laying in front of her.
"I'm a strict vegetarian." Raina muttered, her stomach grumbling in protest.
"We know. All RainWings are vegetarians." Storm muttered, making Raina glare at her.
"I will hunt for fruit." Raina stomped off in another direction, her scales still flashing angry red and orange.
Raina started searching, her green eyes darting back and forth. She hadn't eaten since they left the Rainforest about a week ago. She was flapping her wings, trying to fly or at least get off the ground.
"Looks like your having trouble flying." An irritated voice came from behind her, Raina whipped around and saw a female dragonet, she was taller than Raina, she had pale yellow scales with blue swirls running through them, she also had a barb at the end of her tail and was adorned with jewelry.
"Who are you? And what do you want?" Raina hissed at the obviously older dragonet.
"I'm Princess Sandstone, I'm looking for a RainWing Princess. Jewels, she might have stolen my father." The SandWing hybrid hissed back at her, raising her venomous tail barb, "I presume your her daughter, tell me where she is." Her barbed tail was now aimed right at Raina's heart.
"M-My mother's back in the R-Rainforest...please don't hurt her...I'm actually sure grandmother wouldn't mind keeping the throne for at least another few years." Raina backed away, she realized this was the first time she'd every actually been scared of something.
"In the Rainforest. Your grandmother? The throne? Jewels is my equal? That's hilarious, no RainWing is anywhere near equal to me." Sandstone laughed, her tail getting ever-so-slightly closer to Raina's chest.
Raina stood up, her scales turning back to purple and blue, "Yes, my mother is your equal, I am your equal." She hissed very importantly.
Sandstone's tail barb twitched slightly, "No RainWing defies me. I am a SandWing, the greatest tribe in the world. I am the only heir to the throne, you are a useless dragonet. You are a useless RainWing!" She spat out the last word like rotten mangoes.
"I am an heir to the RainWing and NightWing throne. You are also a hybrid and if I've noticed, half SeaWing, don't have any gills I can see. Your just as useless as I am." Raina growled, not letting her fear show through her scales.
"Ah sister. You are as useless as a SandWing with no tail barb." Sandstone had an unusually arrogant face on.
Raina gasped. SandWings without tail barbs weren't useless, Raina remembered some legend where a barbless SandWing saved all seven Pyrrhian tribes. "Wipe that arrogant smile off your face SandWing. You don't insult legendary dragons like that. Even if that was about 2,000 years ago." Raina hissed, baring her fangs at the SandWing Princess.
"Legends don't matter, dumb RainWing. Also, if you speak again, I will kill you." Sandstone's tail barb was right near Raina's heart—which she could heart thumping so loudly she thought that the SandWing Princess could hear it as well.
Raina let out a small squeak as her stomach rumbled loudly. She was waiting for the arrogant SandWing to say something about her hunger before a SeaWing hurled out of the undergrowth.
At first glance, Raina thought it was Storm, before realizing this dragon was slightly smaller than herself and was wearing far less pearls.
"Nobody's killing anyone. I heard this whole conversation. We're all sisters, we need to stick together, no killing RainWing hybrids." The SeaWing has landed on top of Sandstone. Raina looked up at her gratefully and noticed they looked exactly the same, only different colours.
"Get off me, Princess Wavey-Waves." Sandstone hissed in a slightly mocking tone. The SeaWing stepped down and the SandWing princess immediately grabbed Raina and threw her half way across the clearing.
Her whole body ached with both pain and frustration as she stood up, red and orange started chasing each other across her scales. Just as Sandstone gathered herself to leap at Raina, the SeaWing collided with her, just missing the tail barb, which didn't stop the SandWing Princess. Raina screamed as Sandstone threw herself at her, the Princess landed right in front of her, the barb on her tail was dangerously close to Raina. Suddenly, Raina shot a jet of her acid at Sandstone's smug face, it splashed her right in between her glittering black eyes.
The acid hissed and gurgled as the SandWing Princess screamed in agony, "You stupid RainWing! I don't care if your my sister! If I live, just know that I will haunt your dreams forever!" Sandstone collapsed down in front of Raina.
"I-I'm s-Sorry..." Raina bent down to meet the arrogant dragons face, which was melting quickly.
"YOU DO NOTICE WE NEED ALL THREE OF US TO END THIS STUPID THING?!?!?!" The SeaWing dragonet growled from the other side of the clearing as both Shadow and Storm came flapping in.
