Chapter 12

After lunch, everyone once again reached court. Raizadas stood outside the court waiting for Mr Roy. They saw Khushi coming with Gayathri. Arnav looked at Khushi with regret and apology. Khushi looked at him for a moment and looked away. She came and stood in a corner a little away from Raizadas.

Gayathri saw Arnav looking at Khushi with sad eyes. She observed him for a few minutes. She couldn't understand him much. The man she heard in her daughter's stories and the man in front of her seemed so different. That man was ruthless and brutal, but this man. He seem to be sad and heartbroken. His eyes held love. Such a contrasting behaviour, is it possible for a human.

If one of this is truth and other fake. Then which is his real character. That brutal monster who destroyed her daughter or this loving husband who is fighting for her daughter earnestly. Nonetheless, she decided to meet her son in law once formally.

Gayathri walked towards Arnav with calculated steps. Raizadas stiffened seeing her walking towards them with a soft smile. She came and stood in front of Arnav. Arnav looked at the woman with confused eyes. He was seeing the woman for the third time in his life.

He had heard about her from news. She is a famous lawyer, so not hearing about her is inevitable. But he had never seen her in person or interacted with her. In fact he never even bothered about her existence till the day he came to know she was his wife's lawyer. Since then, he had tried to find out about her.

Her professional life, her previous cases, the way she handles her cases, what she does in such cases, he has done a small research so that he have an idea what to be expected in court. But more than her, he was focused on her juniors as Mr Roy kept telling him that she wouldn't appear for this case personally.

So he didn't know much about her personality or her fighting ways, as he didn't give much importance to that. But whatever he learned about her scared him as well as made him admire and respect her. She is a strong willed woman like his Khushi. He has only met a few woman with such strength and will power. Maybe that's what makes Khushi close to her or made her fight for Khushi.

And the two times, he met her, something in him told that she is similar to Khushi. Something connected them. Like she is connected to his Khushi on a personal level. And that strange feeling made him confused.

"Hello. We haven't met each other formally till now. So thought why not meet you all once. Hi, I am Gayathri Singh Rajput. Khushi's m.... lawyer." Gayathri said smiling extending her hand for a shake with Arnav.

"Hi. Arnav. Arnav Singh Raizada." Arnav said shaking her hand.

Gayathri turned to the other Raizadas and said, "I know Mrs Manorama Raizada. Other than her, I don't know you all. So..."

The Raizadas looked at each other. Then sighing, Nani said introducing them, "I am Devyani Raizada, Arnav's Nani. This is Anjali, Arnav's elder sister. You know Manorama, Arnav's Mami. This is Akash, Manorama's son. Then that is Payal, Akash's wife and Khushi Bitiya's elder sister. That is NK, Nandkishore Shekhawat, Manorama's sister's son. And that's Sheetal Kapoor, Arnav's friend."

"Oh, so she is the one." Gayathri said scrutinizing Sheetal from top to bottom. She gave a mocking smile.

Sheetal felt conscious under Gayathri's penetrating eyes. She felt as if Gayathri could see right through her. For some reasons that woman frightened her. It was as if she would unearth her secret just by looking at her. Sheetal shifted on her legs uncomfortably.

Gayathri gave her one more overall look and turned to the Raizadas with a soft smile. "Nice meeting you all. Now I have to go." She said and walked to Khushi.

The Raizadas kept looking at her. Reaching Khushi, she turned and gave them a sly smile. Her eyes looking at them challengingly. The Raizadas shuddered at that. Gayathri held Khushi's hand and took her inside protectively. Khushi who was lost in her thoughts, followed a bit confused.

Soon Mr Roy too entered the court with Raizadas. The judge arrived and the trial resumed. Gayathri requested the court permission to question Arnav. The court granted permission. Arnav was summoned to the witness box. He took oath and prepared himself for Gayathri's questions.

Gayathri came towards Arnav with a serious expression. Gone was the smile, that was present on her face till then. She looked at him with seriously.

"Mr Arnav Singh Raizada, what do you do? I mean your profession." Gayathri asked her first question.

Arnav frowned at her question. Nevertheless, he said, "Professionally, I am a fashion designer. I run a fashion designing company, AR designs. I have other businesses too. I am a businessman."

"So, can I say that you are quite famous. You are a public figure and people know you." Gayathri asked with an expressionless face.

"Yes." Arnav said nonchalantly.

"OK. You're married, right?" Gayathri asked next.

Arnav frowned at her. What sort of a question is that. She is here, fighting their divorce case and she is asking him whether he is married or not. What absurdity is this. "Obviously." He answered frowning.

"OK. So can you please tell the court who you got married to, and when?" Gayathri asked with a blank face.

"I got married to my wife, Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada on 14 February 20**." Arnav answered confidently.

"OK. That means you have been married to my client Mrs Khushi for nearly one year. Hmm. You both have been living under the same roof with your family members for one year, right?" Gayathri asked her next question.

"Yes." Arnav answered.

"So for one year your Mami have been degrading and calling your wife names in front of you. What have you done for stopping her. What did you do to stop the atrocities happening in your house with your wife?" Gayathri asked seriously with a slightly furious tone.

Arnav looked at her gulping. "I... I..." He looked down embarrassed.

"Your lawyer was saying you love your wife and hence doesn't want to divorce her. Then what have you done to make sure of her safety and security in your house. What have you done to stop the atrocities happening in your own house to your own wife. Tell me, Mr Arnav Singh Raizada. What have you done to stop the hurt and abuses inflicted on her. Tell me, what have you done." Gayathri shouted.

Arnav looked down guilty and ashamed. Gayathri looked at him with disgust and a mocking smile.

"OK. Leave that. Tell me this, you have been married for one year. How many people from your circle knows that you're married. Tell me a few people's name apart from your family members, colleagues and close friends, who knows about your marriage and knows your wife. OK. I will make it simple. You are a public figure. Name 5 celebrities who knows about your marriage and knows your wife." Gayathri asked with serious look.

Arnav fumbled at the question. He racked his brain to come up with names. But couldn't get even one. He felt so shocked as the realisation dawned upon him that he never introduced Khushi to anyone from his circle. Not even to some celebrities. He felt it would have been better if the earth split and swallowed him up. He felt so ashamed.

"Objection your honour, I don't understand what is the meaning of such a question. Everyone knows that ASR is married and who his wife is." Mr Roy said frowning. Arnav closed his eyes in regret and helplessness. He failed his Khushi big time.

"It's a very important question, your honour. In a marriage, the most important aspect is recognition. So it is an important question. Also, Mr Raizada hasn't answered my question, yet. He couldn't come up with even one name till now." Gayathri said to the court looking at Arnav with disgust.

"Objection overruled." The judge said and Mr Roy sat down frustrated.

"So, tell me, Mr Raizada. Tell me atleast one celebrity's name who knows about your marriage and your wife." Gayathri prompted again.

Arnav looked down and shook his head in shame. Gayathri scoffed at him.

"This is the truth, your honour. Even after being married for one year, Mr Arnav Singh Raizada has never bothered to reveal about his marriage or introduce his wife in his circle. He never took any initiative to give his wife the respect and position she deserves as his wife. Neither in his own house nor in front of the world.

"Your honour, as I said earlier, a major aspect of marriage is recognition. Marriage is the means by which a relationship between a man and a woman get recognition spiritually, legally, and socially. But my client never got that recognition even after being married to Arnav Singh Raizada for one year.

"Mr Arnav Singh Raizada never bothered to announce his marriage or introduce his wife to anybody. He never gave her the respect of a wife. And to prove my point, I would like to submit some evidences to the court." Gayathri said.

She then went and pulled some old newspapers from a file and gave it to the court.

"Your honour, these are some newspapers and magazines that have published news regarding Mr Arnav Singh Raizada in the last one year. Precisely speaking, after his marriage with my client, Mrs Khushi Raizada.

"In none of these newspapers and magazines, there was mention about his marriage or his wife. On the contrary, most of the newspapers and magazines refer to him as the most eligible bachelor. A few newspapers from last six months, has started mentioning him as being committed and being spotted with a woman. But if you read and see carefully, that woman is not Mrs Khushi Raizada, but Ms Sheetal Kapoor.

"Your honour, from these evidences it's clear that my client was deprived of a major conjugal right. The right of recognition. My client was denied her rights to be known as Mr Arnav Singh Raizada's wife. At the same time, Mr Arnav Singh Raizada was galavanting around with another woman, insinuating the possibility of them having a relationship." Gayathri said with conviction.

"Objection your honour, we can't take what's published on the newspaper as evidence. These are not reality. They are from the perspective of the reporter. Your honour, my client has never denied being marriage publically nor he has ever announced about having any sort of relationship with Ms. Sheetal Kapoor publically. What's printed in these newspapers and magazines are mere speculations and rumours. These can't be taken as evidence." Mr Roy said desperately.

"Objection sustained. Mrs Rajput, newspaper and magazine articles can't be considered evidences." The judge said.

"I know your honour, these news and articles can't be taken as evidence to prove any illegal relationship. I am merely saying this that if Mr Arnav Singh Raizada bothered to announce his marriage, then such a rumour wouldn't have been there." Gayathri said.

"Objection your honour. Everyone has the right to decide if they want to disclose regarding their personal life in front of media or not. It's a matter of privacy, your honour." Mr Roy said once again.

"Objection sustained. Mrs Rajput, whether Mr Raizada wants to disclose his marital status to media is his personal matter. It is his decision. That's not against law." The judge said.

"OK, your honour. It's his right to decide whether he wants to disclose his marital status to the media or not. Still publically giving the rights of his wife to someone else is wrong, isn't your honour. Calling someone else as his wife and thereby causing his wife mental and emotional pain is equal to cruelty, your honour." Gayathri said.

"Objection your honour. You can't blame my client for media rumours, Mrs Rajput." Mr Roy said.

"As a husband, isn't it your client's duty to give a rest to such speculations and rumours, and give mental and emotional reassurance to his wife. He could have done it very easily. Anyways, it doesn't matter. I was not talking about newspaper and media articles. I was talking about what Arnav Singh Raizada did. How he gave away the rights of his wife to someone else publically in front of people. People as in his friends circle. Your honour, to prove my point I would like to call a witness of mine." Gayathri said smirking.

"Objection overruled. Mrs Rajput, you proceed." The judge finally said.

Gayathri gave the name of her witness. The court called the name. A man in mid thirties came to the witness box.

Gayathri came to the witness and said, "Can you please tell your name and how you know Mr Arnav Singh Raizada."

"My name is Neeraj Batra. I am a businessman. ASR, I mean Arnav Singh Raizada and I are business partners and good friends." Neeraj said.

"How long have you known Arnav for?" Gayathri asked her next question.

"3-4 years." Neeraj answered.

"Do you know he is married?" Gayathri asked.

"Yes." Neeraj said.

"When did you find out and how?" Gayathri asked next question immediately.

"Five months back, I kept a party to celebrate the success of a major project of ours. It was a couple's party. In that party, Arnav came with his wife and son. It was then I came to know he was married and has a son." Neeraj said remembering.

"What's the name of his wife? And if she is present in the court, then please point her out." Gayathri said.

"Her name is Sheetal Singh Raizada. She was here in the court. (Running his eyes through the sitting area) Yeah. (Pointing at Sheetal) There. That's ASR's wife. Sheetal Singh Raizada." Neeraj said.

Raizadas eyes widened hearing that. Arnav closed his eyes in regret hearing that. Khushi looked down closing her eyes as it was becoming more and more unbearable for her. With every passing minute, her heart broke a little more if it was even possible. Mr Roy sighed frustrated. But Gayathri was not finished.

"Who introduced her to you?" Gayathri asked smiling.

"ASR only introduced her." Neeraj said remembering.

"Did he say she is his wife?" Gayathri asked next question.

"No. Sheetal herself said." Neeraj answered from his memory. Hearing that Raizadas glared at Sheetal who started squirming at her place.

"Did Arnav deny when she called herself his wife?" Gayathri asked finally.

"No. He didn't say anything like that." Neeraj shook his head. Arnav closed his eyes in regret. If only he could say in what situation he was in at that time.

"OK. Thank you." Gayathri said to Neeraj.

She turned to Arnav and asked, "Do you have something to say, Mr Arnav Singh Raizada. You deliberately took another woman as your wife to a party and introduced her as your wife in front of your friends circle. Do you have something to say about this."

"I didn't do anything deliberately. It was a couple's party, Khushi doesn't like such party. So I took Sheetal to party. That's it. Other than that, I didn't do anything." Arnav said desperately.

"How do you know she doesn't like such parties or wanted to accompany you or not? Did you ask her?" Gayathri asked.

"I..." Arnav looked at Anjali hearing that question. He was busy that day, so he had asked Anjali to tell Khushi about the party. Then, Anjali told him that Khushi refused to accompany him to the party. And made him go with Sheetal and Arav.

He was going to answer positively. But seeing Anjali looking down guiltily, realisation dawned upon him. His eyes widened in shock. Anjali didn't tell Khushi about the party.

Seeing him silent, Gayathri shouted. "Tell me, Mr Raizada. Did you ask Khushi to accompany you to the party. Or you yourself decided that she will not like the party and took your girlfriend and son to the party."

"I... I..." Arnav looked down feeling guilty, sad, and betrayed and shook his head. "I didn't."

"You didn't what?" Gayathri asked frowning.

"I didn't ask Khushi." Arnav said looking down.

"Why?" Gayathri asked next.

Arnav didn't answer. What was he supposed to say. That he asked his sister to convey the message to Khushi and she betrayed him. He looked down hurt and feeling hopeless.

Gayathri shook her head. "That's all, your honour. Your honour, Mr Arnav Singh Raizada and his family members were mentally and emotionally torchuring my client. Calling her names, abusing her. Arnav Singh Raizada, even after knowing his family's behaviour towards his wife, kept quiet and encouraged them. He and his family has denied my client, her rights to be known as his wife and has been introducing another woman as his wife. Thereby cruelly playing with my client's feelings and emotions." Gayathri concluded and went to her seat.

"Mr Roy, you can cross question, now." The judge said.

Mr Roy felt helpless. He knew questioning them would only make matters worse. "No cross, your honour."

The judge nodded and asked Arnav and Neeraj to leave. "You can call your next witness, Mrs Rajput."

"Thank you, your honour. Next, I would like to call Arnav Singh Raizada's sister, Miss Anjali Raizada to the witness box." Gayathri said with a neutral face.

Gayathri herself was feeling anger coursing through her with every passing moment. Thinking about the way, these heartless monsters were treating her daughter, she felt like tearing them into pieces. It was very difficult for her to control her emotions and not snap at them for treating her daughter so barbarically. If it was in her hands, she would have thrown them in some dungeon to suffer for the rest of their lives. But alas, her soft hearted daughter still wants to protect them and show mercy on them even after all the hell that they made her go through.

Anjali was shocked when her name was called. She knew now it was her turn to face the music. She looked towards Arnav. He was sitting far away from her. His eyes were tightly closed and his face was bent down. He didn't even look up when her name was called. He was lost in thoughts. She saw the corner of his eyes getting wet. She felt her heart breaking at her sibling's pain. She didn't wanted all this. She didn't mean to hurt anyone. But she messed up. Unknowingly she made things worse.

She looked at Khushi sitting on the other side. Even she was sitting like Arnav. Tear marks could be seen on her cheeks. Her hands were tightly held in fists. Anjali felt guilt and regret killing her. Wish she could do something.

She heard her name being called again. Nervous and shivering a little, she stood up and went to the witness box. This time, there was no smile or sympathy on Gayathri's face. Her sharp eyes were shooting daggers at Anjali. Anjali herself was trembling and breathing heavily in fear. Gayathri ignored her state completely. She felt no sympathy for this heartless woman. Even after doing all those atrocities to her daughter, she is acting as an innocent, vulnerable, helpless woman. If not anything, it made her more furious and determined to tear her facade apart.

"So you're Anjali Singh Raizada. Arnav Singh Raizada's sister. You are his elder sister, right?" Gayathri asked mockingly.

"Yes." Anjali nodded her head.

"How old are you?" Gayathri asked carelessly.

"Th.. Thirty three years." Anjali said trembling.

"Till where did you study?" Gayathri asked next.

"M.A. in Hindi Literature." Anjali said softly.

"You're a post graduate. That's great. So where do you work. I mean what job do you do?" Gayathri asked her with a curious eyes.

"I... I am not working. I am a housewife." Anjali said looking down.

"House... WIFE!! You are married?" Gayathri asked with surprised face and piercing eyes.

"I... I was married. I got divorced." Anjali said softly taking deep breath to control her emotions.

"OK. Let's talk about that later. We will go back to your job matter. You're a post graduate. Still you are not working, why?" Gayathri asked her curiously.

"There is no reason. I was happy being at home, taking care of household chores. So I didn't try for job." Anjali said firmly.

"OK. You're happy taking care of home and doing household work. Fine. So tell me Ms Raizada. What and all work you do at home?" Gayathri asked her.

"Huh." Anjali looked at her confused. She couldn't understand what she meant by that question.

"OK. I will make it more easy for you. Just tell me your one day's schedule. Like when you get up, what you do throughout the day and all those things. Like a timetable. One day's activities. OK?" Gayathri said trying to make her understand.

Anjali nodded. "OK. So I.. I get up at 6.30 am. Freshen up. Then at 7.30 am, we do morning arthi. At 8 - 8.30 am, we have breakfast. Then all get ready and go to office. I instruct our cook regarding lunch. Then, gets things ready for temple. I go to temple after everyone goes to work. By 12 pm, I comes back. I get fresh. At 1 pm, we have lunch. Then all of us, rest for sometime.

"At 3.30 pm, I get up. At 4pm, we have evening tea and snacks. By 5, all comes back home. We spent some time talking and having family time. Then make arrangements for evening arthi. At 6.30 pm, we do evening arthi. Then we watch some tv or do some work. At 8-8.30 pm, we have dinner. Then, we all spend sometime together. At 10pm, we all sleep." Anjali finished her tale.

The whole court looked at her as if she is some alien. Even Gayathri was gaping at her as she couldn't digest how someone could lead such a useless life. Khushi looked at Anjali sarcastically seeing everyone looking at her in disbelief. Welcome to the life of Raizada Princess, everyone. She shook her head in disgust.

Even Arnav was shocked hearing his sister's schedule. What the hell does she do in one day. He thought she used to do atleast some work. If not cooking, then maybe some other work. But this. It's unbelievable for even him. Yes, he wanted to give his sister a comfortable life. But not a lazy life. This is too much.

"Do you go to temple daily?" The judge asked curiously wanting to know more about the life of this woman. She definitely must be the most useless woman in the world.

"No. I don't go to temple daily. But most of the days, I go. Sometimes, I go shopping, or visit some friends or visit some orphanages etc. Then I skip temple." Anjali answered honestly not understanding why her personal life is questioned so keenly.

All sighed hearing that. Mr Roy closed his case file and held his head in his hands. Wish he could run away from this courtroom, right now. For what sort of people is he fighting this case. He was tired of them. He badly wished for a way to escape this case. But Gayathri was enjoying this completely. And she was not done yet. Proving Anjali's incapability and laziness is not her motive. It was only first step. She was ready with her masterstroke.

"OK, Anjali. Let's leave it here. We will come back to our case. So tell me, Anjali. Does your Bhabhi, I mean your brother's wife, Khushi, work?" Gayathri asked next.

"Yes. She is an architect. She works in Oberoi Constructions." Anjali said smiling softly and proudly.

"Do you or your family members have any problem with that?" Gayathri asked next.

"What??? No. Definitely No. We have no objection to her working." Anjali shook her head in denial. She was shocked by the question. None has ever asked such a question to her before. She was never against Khushi working. In fact it made her feel proud.

"What I mean to ask is when Khushi goes to work, she won't be able to do any household work. Cooking, cleaning, etc. Don't you guys have any problem with that?" Gayathri asked cunningly.

"No. No. We don't have any problem with that. We all are there at home to manage work. Moreover there are servants, we don't have any problem if Khushi goes to work." Anjali said strongly.

"Are you sure?" Gayathri asked smirking.

"Yes. 100%." Anjali said with conviction.

Gayathri went to her seat. Took a pen drive from the folder and said smiling, "But this video has another story to tell, Anjali. Shall we see that?"

She submitted the pen drive to the court. The judge ordered to play the pen drive.

"Your honour, it's a video taken at Raizada Mansion, a few days before Khushi has filed for divorce. This video will tell you, what actually happens in Shantivan and how my client is treated in that house. Alongwith that, I hereby submit to the court the documents verifying the authenticity and genuineness of the video." Gayathri said.

Hearing that, all sat shocked. Raizadas were confused and a little terrified thinking what is in the video. Even Khushi was confused regarding that. She had no idea regarding the video. Moreover, it confused her thinking how Gayathri got it.

The video started.

In the video, it was morning and arthi was taking place. The whole Raizada clan except Arnav and Khushi were present. Few minutes later, Khushi came down ready to go to office with bag and some charts. Just then, morning arthi finished and all came out of prayer place. Anjali saw Khushi and came near her with pooja thali.

She offered the arthi to her. Khushi took blessings and Anjali gave her ladoo which she took. Then, Khushi started going out, but Anjali came behind her and stopped her.

"Where are you going, Khushi?" Anjali asked frowning.

"I have some work. So have to reach office early today." Khushi said with a neutral face.

"What is this, Khushiji? Nowadays, daily you go to office this early in the morning and comes back so late. You don't do any household work. Fine, if you don't do other things. But you don't even help Payal in cooking. Everyday, she alone has to cook. Because of that, daily we have to have late breakfast and dinner. Also only few dishes could be made. Here, there are elders and kids in house, even Chote is diabetic, if they don't get proper food and nutrition on time, their health will deteriorate. How can you be so careless, Khushi.

"And what's this, always work, work, work. Don't you have any responsibility towards this house. You should take care of this house also. You're daughter in law of this house. It's your duty. You can't behave like this and expect us to tolerate that, Khushi. I hope you will keep this in mind and take care from next time onwards." Saying that Anjali walked away.

Khushi stood there for couple of minutes looking at her retreating figure. A lone tear escaped from her eyes. Her breathing laboured. Closing her eyes, she tried to calm herself. She clutched her tummy gaining strength. Few minutes later, she felt better. She took out water bottle from her bag and took sips of water. Composing herself, she wiped her tears and took deep breaths. Then slowly, she walked out of the mansion.

The scene ended

In another scene, the Raizadas were sitting in living room and having evening tea and snacks. They were laughing and having fun. Arnav was sitting with Sheetal and Arav was with Anjali. Akash and NK were sitting together. Nani and Mami sat together. Payal could be seen sitting a little far making some garlands. All others were engaged in small talks. In between they were saying about Arav's behaviour. How he was similar to Arnav. Akash then announced his plan of going out with Payal. Mami took a jibe at Payal hearing that. Eventually all agreed.

Then, the video went in fast forward. Slowly all getting up and going to their rooms for freshening up. Anjali and Nani doing evening arthi. After evening arthi, all came down and again started chit chatting. The video came back to normal speed.

Then after few minutes, Khushi entered. Even a blind could see that she was exhausted to bones. Her face was pale and she was looking so tired and weak. Entering inside the mansion, she stood at the threshold watching the scene for a few minutes. All could see her face falling and her expression turning to sad.

Just then, Sheetal leaned over Arnav and whispered something in his ears. Hearing that Arnav smiled and shook his head at her. Laughing, Sheetal swatted his arm, leaning on his shoulder. Their position was so intimate that even the people in the court looked away.

Everyone's heart went out for Khushi who was watching that scene. All saw Khushi closing her eyes in pain and looking away. She bit her lips to stop her whimpers. Her hands trembled. She held the pillar and stood there for few minutes, trying to compose herself. Then she walked inside slowly.

She was literally dragging her tired body. When she reached living room, all looked at her. Then ignoring her, resumed their talk as if she wasn't there. Khushi too didn't say anything and went upstairs. Then Akash and Payal came down, after informing all, left the mansion. Sometime passed with all chitchatting and Anjali looking towards stairs every now and then. Then sometime later Anjali stood up and walked away from living room. The video followed Anjali. It showed her going upstairs and knocking a door.

Few minutes later, the door opened and an extremely tired looking Khushi came out.

"What's this, Khushi? Morning itself, I told you this behaviour of yours is intolerable. First of all, you came home so late. And now you're cooped up in the room instead of helping in household work. OK, Listen. Akash and Payal have again gone out for dinner. So today also, you have to manage alone. Anyways Payal has been cooking alone all these days, so you can cook alone for one day.

"Now listen regarding dinner, Mami didn't have much during lunch as she didn't like the food, so make something nice for her. Arav wants to eat pasta, so make that for him. For me and Nani, make some light indian food. Sheetal will have her usual salads. For Chote, you know what to make. And please make it quick. All are really hungry. I am going to help Arav in completing his homework. It will take 30-45 minutes. Make sure food is prepared by then." Saying that Anjali walked away without paying heed to anything Khushi wants to say.

Khushi sighed tiredly. All could see her looking at Anjali's retreating figure with a painful smile. Sighing, she dragged her tired body downstairs. Then the scene shifted.

This time, camera is kept in a position from where Khushi working in kitchen and Raizadas having fun in living room could be seen. In the video, it was shown clearly how tired Khushi looked. And how she was struggling to cook everything alone. There was HP and another maid in kitchen trying to help Khushi. But every now and then, either one of the Raizadas kept calling HP and the maid for one or other things.

After making all the food with much difficulty, Khushi ate few morsels and left from there. Then, Raizadas having dinner with HP serving is shown. In that, Arav and Mami showing tantrums regarding food and Anjali supporting and consoling Arav could be seen. The scene portrayed how selfish the Raizadas were, as not even a single one of them asked for Khushi. We could see Arnav looking towards stairs sometimes but no other reaction from anyone else.

The video ended.

There was pin drop silence in the entire court. Gayathri was openly glaring at Anjali this time. Though, she had watched the video a couple of times, while preparing for the case. Everytime, she saw it she felt like tearing Anjali into pieces.

How dare this bitch treat her daughter like a slave. Her daughter was a Princess. Even though, her daughter is very humble in nature and not a fan of expensive things. She has grown up with every luxury possible. She was their one and only daughter. Their precious one. Despite her aversion for over the top things, she always had best in everything in her life.

Anything she thought of, they had the capability to make it real for her. Not that she was a spoilt brat, but still she got all the richness of the world possible. And now these bloody Raizadas are making her precious daughter slave around for them even in her state of pregnancy. She is not going to leave them for this. They are going to regret badly for messing with her daughter. She will show them hell on earth.

Arnav sat shocked and numb at his place. For the first time, he realised the gravity of the situation. How his and his family's behaviour looked to some outsider. What his family's constant comparison between him and Arav, portrayed to a third person. How much his and Sheetal's proximity affected Khushi. Hell, he himself felt disgusted seeing their intimacy. Then how Khushi would have felt. First time, he realised how much Khushi got hurt by his and his family's ignorance and behaviour. Now seeing everything from a third person's view, he could understand how wrong they were.

His breath stopped hearing the harsh and cruel words, Anjali said to Khushi. His heart shattered into pieces seeing his Khushi working like a slave. Tears flew out of his eyes seeing her tired form struggling to work. He didn't had the strength to even wipe his tears.

God, what was happening in his house with his wife. And he had no clue. He didn't dare to look at Anjali. Because right now if he look at her, he might loose control and commit murder. He felt like thrashing his sister mercilessly for her inhuman behaviour towards his wife. He fisted his hands to control his anger.

The other Raizadas were also shocked seeing Anjali's behaviour. Nani was angry and disgusted seeing the video. She couldn't believe her granddaughter could stoop so low. Mami was still not out of the scare Gayathri gave her. But seeing the way Anjali treating Khushi, she felt guilty for the first time.

It was she who started it all. Because of her barbaric behaviour towards Gupta sisters only, Anjali had this notion that it was OK to treat them like that. If she had behaved respectfully with her daughters in law, then Anjali wouldn't have treated them like this following her footsteps. She failed to give respect to her daughters in law and teach her daughter to respect others.

Akash and NK too sat shocked like Arnav as they couldn't believe this face of their sweet, loving, god fearing sister. Payal had a neutral face as it was not a surprise for her. Anjali behaved the same with her. She behaved as if they were her slaves. The self proclaimed spoilt Raizada Princess. Infact, she was happy, Anjali's reality is coming in front of the world. Let her face the repercussions of her deeds. She felt no sympathy for her.

Khushi was surprised seeing the video. She couldn't understand when and how the video was made or how Gayathri got the video. When all that happened between her and Anjali, only both of them were present. Definitely she didn't make the video. Seeing the angle from which video was made, it seems to be made by a person inside the house. Then who made it and who gave it to Gayathri. Khushi was confused. She decided to ask Gayathri after the trial.

Gayathri came near Anjali who was standing shocked, scared and numb. The video literally shook Anjali's whole stand. Yes. She was a self proclaimed Princess. She has this habit to show her dominance over her brother's wives. She was the eldest daughter of the house. Her reins over her sisters in law, gave her a sense of superiority, priority and control in the house and the family. She felt important and formidable.

It actually started after her brother's weddings. At that time, she was pregnant. So the household chores were taken over by Payal and Khushi. After her miscarriage, due to her weak state and Dadi's influence at that time, it continued. Even Khushi and Payal didn't mind seeing her fragile state.

But with time, it became a habit for her. She started being lazy and also enjoyed the power and authority she had over Payal and Khushi. So when Arav arrived, she conveniently transferred the household duties on Khushi and Payal and happily concentrated on Arav. She made them do things as she wished and spend her time pampering Arav. She even forced them to do Arav's bidding to impress him.

In her blind love towards Arav, she really didn't realise the mistakes she was committing. Nor thought about the consequences of her actions. Now standing in front of court with world seeing her ugly side, she finally understood the gravity of her mistakes. She felt regret and guilt fill her.

Gayathri looked at Anjali with a sarcastic look. "Miss Anjali Raizada, few minutes before you were proclaiming that you have no objection with your sister in law working and you were proud of her. But this video shows something entirely different. You were saying that you and your family members have no problem if your sister in law goes to work nor you're bothered about the household duties as there are servants and other family members to do that.

"In this video, we neither saw any servants nor any family members doing any work. In fact, we all could see you forcing your tired sister in law, who came back home after working whole day at office, to work and fulfill household duties while you and your family members were enjoying. In that video, you and your family members were clearly watching TV and having fun, while your sister in law was slogging in the kitchen.

"Earlier you said that you don't go to work even after being a post graduate because you like looking after home and doing household tasks. But when you were narrating your daily routine, you didn't mention about even a single household duty that you do. Even in the video, we didn't saw you doing even a single household duty which you like to do so much. What happened? Seeing the exhausted form of your sister in law, did your love for household duties died down and you felt it would be fun to hurt your sister in law a little more by dumping all the work on her. Huh?" Gayathri asked with gritted teeth.

Anjali looked down ashamed as she had nothing to say in her defense. She was wrong and it is a fact. She couldn't do or say anything to change that or sugarcoat her mistake. So she kept silent.

Gayathri looked at her with contempt and turned to the judge. "Your honour, from this video, it is evident how heartlessly Raizada family treat my client. They have physically, mentally and emotionally abused my client throughout her marriage. They have called her names, humiliated her publically, made her slog around house, and treated her like servant. Each and everyone of them were involved in it. All of them knew and supported every wrong did to my client in Raizada Mansion. Not only Mr Arnav, Mrs Manorama and Miss Anjali, in fact entire family were aware and involved." Gayathri said to the court.

Gayathri turned to Anjali once again. "Miss Anjali, now let's go back to your marriage." Gayathri started but just then they heard the bell of court, saying that it was the end of court hours.

Judge sighed. As expected, this is going to be long case. Noting down something on his notes, he said, "Since court hours are over, we will continue this on next hearing. The next hearing of this case is on xx xx xxxx. The court is adjourned for today." Saying that the judge left.

Gayathri sighed a bit disappointed. She was going to roast Anjali. Now she have to wait for it. It's OK. The case has only started, she will get more chances with Anjali. She is not going to leave her. She came back to her place and started collecting her things.

Mr Roy sat in his place for few minutes silently. He has never faced such a complex case before when not even one thing is on his favour. After few minutes, he too started collecting his things. He felt like getting out of this courtroom as soon as possible.

Anjali still stood in the witness box numb. Nobody went to her. As soon as judge left, Arnav walked out of the room. Other Raizadas sat there for a couple more minutes, then they too walked out. Slowly Anjali too followed them.

That's it for this chapter. Hope you all enjoyed it. Today I want to thank you all for your votes and comments for last chapter. It means a lot.

Now coming to chapter, finally the first hearing is over. How is it, guys? Did you all liked Gayathri? In first hearing itself, she tore the Raizadas to pieces. The court case only started, now itself their situation is this, then what will happen in upcoming hearings. For that stay tuned.
