20 - Won't You Wake Me Up

Ranboo kept his distance as he followed the blaze and the phantom. He stayed quiet, trying to make himself smaller by sneaking around with his knees just barely touching the ground. The one time he wished he was a little shorter, of course.

Once he realized oh, shit, they're actually going to Tubbo, he teleported to behind the door, listening to the crooked ladder groan. He crossed his arms, tapping his shoe with an unamused expression when the door opened.

"He's asleep, so whatever you want with him, you can take up with me or meet with him later." The Ender class said, flicking his ear in annoyance. He didn't know why he was so defensive, that's just how he gets when people don't look like they have good intentions when wanting to talk to his best friend. Or any of his friends, for that matter.

"No, you won't understand. This is urgent, we have to see him immediately." Wilbur fought, his smile fading slightly as his own annoyance filled the phantom's eyes.

"Okay, I'll tell you when he wakes up." Ranboo shrugged. "Goodbye n- where'd he-? Oh. Son of a-," Ranboo cursed under his breath when Wilbur disappeared. Right, he was a phantom class, after all.

Ranboo completely ignored Jack trying to explain the situation, turning on his heels and running to Tubbo's room. Thankfully Wilbur had solidified before he got there, probably wanting to knock. He might be a little- okay, alot crazy, but he still had respect.

"Okay, Wilbur, cut it out. Come back later." Ranboo grabbed the phantom by the collar of his sweater, pulling him back. Wilbur tried to speak when this happened, but he couldnt, since it was pressing against his neck.

"No, it's really important. You'll see, Ranboo, everyone will see. I'm the right one here." Wilbur ghosted through Ranboo again, this time walking through the door.

"Real funny." Ranboo overexaggerated the 'e' in 'real', rolling his eyes as he spoke.  Once he realized Wilbur entered Tubbo's room, he entered aswell, filling his lungs to warn the boy.

To his surprise, Tubbo had already stirred, wide awake by now. He was fiddling with a soft vine, tying it neatly in a sort of pattern. The boy jumped when Wilbur entered the room, followed by the panicked Ender class.

"Tubbo! Tubbo, hey!" Wilbur smiled in a friendly way at the boy. "So, a little blaze origin told me you can see Tommy, too."

Ranboo's eyes widened, anger boiling in his gut. How dare he mention the boy as if he was still alive? Why did he keep joking about this? Why wasn't Phil's medication working on him? Tubbo immediately froze, looking uncomfortable. That's it. "That's enough."

He was about to go on, but Tubbo spoke before he could.

"I can." The boy met Wilbur's eyes steadily. "What of it?"

Ranboo couldn't believe his ears. What? Tubbo went mad aswell? Oh no, was Wilbur contagious? How stupid of him to not realize! God, if Tubbo went insane he'd never forgive himself. He stared at the boy in disbelief, waiting for him to say more.

"Well, now you can help me tell everyone he's still here! All they need to do is believe, and ta-da!" Wilbur did multiple gestures as he spoke.

"No." Tubbo shook his head. "I won't."

"Why not?" Wilbur tilted his head. "Don't you want Tommy to be happier when everyone can see him?"

"It doesn't matter whether people can see him or not, and it's best if they can't." Tubbo took a breath. "Even if everyone can see him, he's still a ghost. He's still dead. We're working on a way to get him back, and if everyone saw him taking their things, they wouldn't be happy."

"But-," Wilbur started.

"I said," Ranboo closed his eyes. "That's enough."

Tubbo turned to look at Ranboo, slightly concerned for the tone of the Ender class.

"Wilbur, get out of our house, please." Ranboo opened his bicolored eyes, locking his gaze with Wilbur's. "I don't know what you did to Tubbo, but whatever it is, I want you to reverse it."

"Reverse it? No, Ranboo. He's perfectly fine, you're the insane one." The phantom spoke calmly. Ranboo saw Tubbo's broken expression, wondering if he said the wrong thing. He didn't mean to hurt the boy, he just didn't want Wilbur to keep feeding him these lies.

"Tommy!" Wilbur moved his eyes past Ranboo, smiling genuinely. "Glad you could join us."

Ranboo turned his head, scanning the wall between him and the door. No Avian boy there, as much as his heart had hoped. He would never admit that, though. "There's nothing there." He turned his accusing glare back to the phantom.

"Oh, but there is. Come on, Toms. Stand infront of me. This is gonna feel weird I assume, but Ranboo, put your hand where mine is." Wilbur raised his hand to just about where Tommy's backwings would normally be, if he was there.

"No, I'm not- Leave, please." Ranboo turned his head, voice slightly breaking.

"Ranboo, believe. Or- or, at least do as he says, you'll feel it." Tubbo pressed his lips together, unsure. He did see Tommy, clear as day, the boy stuttering to Wilbur about how it wouldn't work.

Ranboo winced at the boy's words, reaching out to where Wilbur's hand was. He felt a little cold when he reached closer, but other than that, there was nothing. He looked into Wilbur's eyes as if to say 'really?' with no amusement.

Tubbo, however, looked horrified. "Okay, Ranboo, p-pull back, now, please." He stuttered out. In his eyes, he saw Tommy with his eyes tightly shut, not liking the way it felt when Ranboo's hand went straight through him.

Ranboo did as he was told, and Tommy immediately released a panicked sigh, clutching his chest where Ranboo's hand was. "Please, never make anyone do that again." He whimpered, opening an eye when he heard a sharp inhale.

Looking up, he saw Ranboo looking directly at him, eyes wide and closely resembling an emerald and a ruby. He, too, stiffened, his wings being the only animated part of him. They flapped idly, but were alot slower, kind of like how a cat is when stalking prey, if that paints a good picture.

"Tommy?" The ender boy reached his hand out again, this time to feel Tommy's wing for real, without going through his chest. His hand brushed the feathers, making Ranboo flinch more than Tommy did. The boy extended his wings, smiling uncertainly.

"Yup," Tommy gulped. "That's me."

question; when you read this (if you put pictures in your mind) do you picture ranboo as an enderman or as how he presents himself on camera? (like, real him, just wearing the mask/sunglasses)
