Previously

The worst part was that I knew we were being watched. And it wasn't the guardians watching us by the three pair of red eyes glowing in the dark, staring at us.

Chapter 3

Rose POV

"Lissa, give me your hair pin. " I say not taking my eyes off the pair of red pair in the dark.

Lissa not asking gave me the hair pin, I took it and quickly set to work on unlocking the handcuffs.

Almost there....

Got it.

I quickly took off the handcuffs and bent forward to look under the seat. I blindly searched until my hand grabbed ahold of something cold and solid.

A stake.

I was really thankful to who ever owned this car for keeping a extra stake in the car . Then again most Guardians do.

"Lissa get out of the car. " I instructed as I unbuckled my seat belt.

"No! Rose we will be killed. " she protested.

" Lissa, trust me. " I begged her. I sent my emotions over to her and she reluctantly nodded her head and grabbed ahold of Oscar.

That damn cat.

"You owe me an explanation of how you keep doing that. " Lissa said as she moved to open her car door. I knew she was talking about the Bond a conversation I did not want to have.

"Sure, but maybe later, I don't thinks know is the best time. " I say opening my car door and stepping out, closing the door behind me. The cold winter air immediately hits me and I shiver. Lissa followed soon after and we stood still side by side .

I looked over where I saw the pair of red eyes..... Only to find it missing. I take a protective stance in front of Lissa and slowly edged us towards the Academy's Gates.

I could feel Lissa's fear through the Bond and tried to reassure her as much as I could. I felt more nauseated with every second that goes by, but I did not see anything walking towards us.

No not walking towards us.......

Not walking towards us, I thought and looked up just in time to see a three pair of red eyes staring down at us from the tree branches.

"Lissa, no matter please, do not scream and do not move until I say so OK? "

"OK" Lissa whispered back just as the three figures dropped to the ground, Luisa thankfully did not scream, but she did stiffen up beside me.

I looked at the three figures. Two were male, almost identical,although one was taller by an inch but both had blonde hair, pale skin, red eyes and blood dripping from their mouths. The women on the hand had red hair, caramel skin and surprisingly did not have a drop of blood smeared on her. They all wore rags and were slowly stalking towards us.

Flipping the stake in my hand I stood ready for any attacks. I felt the darkness I took from Lissa early come to the front of my mind ready for me to use it at any moment. The women stood aside and the two male came forward at the same time.

I walked closer towards them trying to put some distance between me and Lissa, but kept an eye on the red head, I did not want her to get five feet close to Lissa.

The shorter attacked first, lunging at me, I easily dodged and sent a kick to his ribs. The taller one moved to grab me but I quickly ducked and spun my leg in an arch knocking him off his feet. I quickly got up and tightened my grip on the stake. I slashed at the shorter one and made a cut on his stomach. He hisses at me and bared his fangs.

I couldn't help it is bared my teeth in return. Probably stunned he froze for a second but a second was all I needed. Acting quickly I punched him making sending his head to the side. Grabbing his shoulders I kneed him in his crotch, he bent over in pain and taking advantage of his kneeled over form I shot my knee up knocking in the face, wasting no time. I pulled him back and stabbed the stake through his chest wear his heart is supposed to be and watched as his eyes became unfocused.

Pulling the stake out of his unmoving body I didn't have time to move before I heard a yell.

"Rose! Behind you!" Lissa screamed panic in her voice.

I don't have time to even turn before I was taller to the ground and landed with a thud knocking the breath out of me and lost the grip of my stake . Quickly regaining my breath, I pushed off the ground and crouched down. From the corner of m eye, I saw the red head had not moved, instead watching us with curious eyes.

My attention was brought back to the blonde male when he punched me to the ground making me stumble backwards as I felt the blood drip from my nose and he delivered two more hits to my stomach that made me gasp from pain, he hit between my shoulders blades hard enough to leave serous bruising and I collapsed on my knees.

Still in pain, I quickly looked up and landed a hard punch to his crotch kicked my foot out making him land with a groan. I quickly climbed onto him and straddled him not caring about our position and delivered three punches to his faces and was a satisfying crunch came from the last punch. I broke his nose. Quickly getting up I moved off him and retrieved my stake that lay on the ground. As I turned my legs were kicked out from underneath me and I landed with a thud on my back. The male kicked me in ribs and I'm sure I heard something break. Curling on my side I spat out a mouthful of blood.

I gasped as my hair was grabbed and yanked backwards so I was on my knees back arched and throat exposed. I looked into smug crimson eyes and glared. He moved his fangs towards my throat and I struggled, I could feel Lissa's fear and the need to do something.

Don't move. I sent through the Bond.

I felt his fangs scrape my neck but before he could bite I tightened my grip on the stake and plunged it into his chest stilling all movements. As his body fell to the fell to the ground, his still exposed fangs cut my neck leaving a deep and bleeding gash.

Stupid Strigoi.

I stood up, with lots of effort not to fall back to the ground from the pain I felt and I looked towards Lissa. She was still safe but I didn't see the red head. Looking around I found her farther away from us, still watching us...... no she was watching me.

Quickly moving to Lissa, I did not take my eyes off the Strigoi.

"Are you okay? " I ask as I lean against the tree besides her.

"Yes, I'm just.... shaken. Rose you should be worried about yourself your hurt badly and bleeding. Let me help. " she moved towards me but I quickly moved out of the way.

" No " I say as I shake my head. " Not now, I don't want you to pass out or something, I'm OK for now. But later OK? " I say knowing she will be persistent with healing me.

The red head Strigoi was still watching us and it was unsettling. Her eyes never left my form and I felt wrong. Something wasn't right. But before I could do anything the sound of voices reached my ears. I allowed myself to relax only for a little but still kept my guard up.

Dimitri and several other Guardians emerge from the trees, they froze when they saw our position, I stood crouched protectively in front of Lissa despite the wound on my neck bleeding heavily or the blood dripping from my nose. Two Strigoi bodies lie unmoving by my feet and I was having a stare down with the red head.

The Guardians made their way over to us also keeping their eyes on the red head Strigoi. I noticed that several Guardians looked very beat up and one was limping.

"Are you OK? " Dimitri asked.

"Yes. "

"No. "

Lissa and I spoke at the same time making Dimitri look between the two of us. I spoke before Lissa could. " We're fine. Lissa's a bit shaken, but good and I just got a few scratches...... And a broken rib. But were good, no worries. Next time Comrade I don't think you should leave us alone with Strigoi. "

"Belikov. " an unfamiliar Guardian said, we looked up and saw he was pointing towards the red head who was slowly walking towards us.

"Does she have a death wish? " I asked to no one particle. I wasn't surprised when no one answered. Why would she walk towards a group of armed and trained Guardians?

I stood next to Lissa watching as she approached and felt Lissa intertwine our fingers together. She held my hand in a deathly grip and I squeezed her hand back in comfort. The Guardians stood in front of us, making a wall so she could not get to us.

We all watched her, it was not normal for a Strigoi to be this calm. And the whole time she was walking she did not take her eyes off me. Even the Guardians noticed it and were on edge. They were probably all thinking why want a Dhampir when a Moroi was standing next to her.

The red Head Strigoi stopped several feet away and tilted her head to the side still looking at me.

"What is your name? " her voice was soft like a melody and held curiousness and awe in it. For what I did not know, seeing no harm in telling her my name I spoke.

"Rose Hathaway. "I said.

"It was a pleasure to meet you Rose Hathaway, you too Moroi girl. I hope we can meet again. " she said as she turned and walked away. I could tell the Guardians were confused, I was as well.

"Don't hold your breath. " I said to retreating back.

She turned slightly so I could see the smirk in her lips.
"Then its a good thing I don't need to breath. "And with that she disappeared leaving us in a stunned silence.

"Talk about weirdo. "I said breaking the silence. Next to me Lissa let out an unladylike like snort. My comment brought the Guardians attention towards myself and they stared at me as if I had two heads.

"Is their something on my face? " I ask innocently.

Dimitri looks at me for a moment and in that moment our eyes met, it seemed like the world stopped and all I could see was him, just as soon as the moment came it was gone when one of the Guardians phone rang.

Dimitri shook his head and I noticed that his hair was loose and falling around his face, grazing his shoulders. It was a bad ass look and it was hot.

I think I might be drooling, damn bad ass Russian. I thought and I suddenly felt the urge to laugh, confused I turned to Lissa and she pointed a finger at her head. Shoot I sent the thought to Lissa.

I shrugged not at all embarrassed.

Its true, just look at him. I spoke through the bond as I looked over at Dimitri. The urge to laugh became so great that I couldn't hold it any more and laughed at the same time Lissa did. It must of looked weird two girls feet apart laughing for no reason.

Although I regretted laughing as soon as my side flared up in pain. I quickly put a hand up over my ribs hopping to reveal some of the pain.

"Yo! Comrade, when does the gates Open. " I questioned and only then realised what I called him, it slipped of my tongue and I didn't mean to call him it. Dimitri did nothing but raise an eyebrow at the nickname. At least he didn't object to it.

"Now, let's go. " he commanded as he walked back towards the car. I hopped in the front seat and Lissa got in the back with two Guardians. I looked at the handcuffs that were still on the door with a hair pin in it, removing the hair pin I unlocked the cuffs and showed them to Lissa.

"You want it? It could make your sex life fun. " I offered it to her but she was to bust having a coughing fit to respond.

"I'll take that as a no. So either you boys want it. " I asked the silent men, the one on the right next to Lissa was blushing a bright red. Cute.

"I'll take that as a no as well. " I said as I sat back in my seat. I put the cuffs in the glove compartment and sat back in my seat. The exhaustion from the fight finally catching up to me and I realised that the fog was no more in the front of my mind. I must of gotten rid of it when fighting the Strigoi.

The gates finally opened and we were let inside, we rode to the front doors in silence.

"You good? " I ask Lissa through the Bond.

"Yes, just a bit shaken, I'll be fine but you need to be healed Rose. " she says.

"I will as soon as we sort everything out." We stopped in front of the doors and the car was switched off. "Welcome to Vampire Academy. "

"Don't call it that Rose, I hate it. " Lissa scolds me out loud which gets her a weird look from the two Guardians and a curios look from Dimitri.

"I say it as I see it. "I shrugged my shoulders and we all get put of the car and walk towards the front doors.

St.Valdimir I'm back........
