Iceman pulled the sports car up his driveway and was so excited!

"You're full of it!" Amber laughed as he hurried to her side of the car to open the door like a gentleman. He let her out and took her hand in his pulling her into his chest.

"I'm definitely full of it. But I think you're going to like this...but first... We gotta get inside...I think it will be easier for you...here..." He pulled a small  black velvet bag out of his pants  pocket.

"What's this?"Amber asked as she held out her hand.

"Open it." He watched her intently and he had this sparkle in his eye.

She opened the bag into her hand and a key fell out."Is this???" She glanced at the front door.

"Try it out..." He stepped aside so she could have full access to the door.

Amber stuck the key in and turned the dead bolt. A simple click sounded and she tried the handle. The door swing open.

"Tom!" She said softly."My own key? Wow!"

He cupped her cheek,"This is your home now. For real. Got it?" He stroked her face and sank his fist into her hair, tilting her head up. "I can't believe that we are here like this. Twenty years ago I would've said no way! You could've killed me alone with all those scornful looks!" He chuckled.

"Tom... I hope you understand that I realize that I was wrong. I am so sorry for all that! I wish I could take it back!"

"That's water under the bridge. We're here now... let's go inside..." He said softly. Releasing her. He placed his hand at the small of her back and followed her in. Then locked up behind him. Then he heard her gasp.

The fireplace was lit. But adorning the living room were so many flameless candles twinkling all over. Rose petals scattered the carpet leading to a heart in front of the fireplace. In the middle was a heart shaped, red velvet box.

"Tom? What is this?" She looked around in awe. Her eyes wide and mouth open slightly. Then she turned to him.

He came and took her hands on his."I wanted to make this day a bit extra special. Divorce is a big deal...but I wanted to give you a hint of hope for the future. Go. Get the box..."he commanded.

"What did you do?" She asked as he released her hands.

"It's just a little something...Open it."

She went to the box. And knelt on the floor reaching for the red box. Ice watched her impatiently. Amber flipped the lid and gasped. It was a diamond  ring shaped like a set of wings.

"Tom! It's so pretty! Thank you!"
She smiled from ear to ear and slid the ring onto her ring finger. He came and helped her up off the floor.

"It's been wonderful having you here. But this ring is a promise to you that I've got your Six. At all times. It's also a symbol of your freedom from HIM." he said referring to her Ex.

"You'll be my wingman?" She smirked.

"Absolutely!"

She reached up and rested her hands on his shoulders. "I love it." She paused and smiled as she gazed into his eyes."I love you."

Tom dipped his head and kissed her hard and slow. She melted into him and let him take her to the bedroom. When they walked in the scene was much the same as the living room. Flameless candles everywhere flickered. Rose petals adorned the bed in a heart.

"Tom Kazansky...I don't think many people would've guessed that the cock arrogant fighter pilot was a true romantic...those things don't typically go together."

He made a gesture of stabbing at his heart."Shadow! Ouch! That hurts!" He grinned devilishly.

"I don't think you 20 years ago would've done this..." She said as she suddenly started to undress before his eyes.

"Shadow?"

"We need to celebrate...come here IceMan...help me with this..." She lover the lust in his eyes as he started to help her undress further.

"Yes ma'am. So...you like the ring?"

"Of course I do!" She said as she worked at the buttons on his shirt. Her nimble fingers had it off in an instant.

They made quick business of finishing their undressing then crawled into bed destroying the rose petals display. Amber sank onto the mattress and Ice hovered over her, smiling and he worked himself in between her legs and she let him kiss her hard. She wrapped her legs around him linking them and they made love for an hour until they'd both been spent multiple times. When they finished they snuggled under the blankets laying on their sides so that Ice could wrap his arms around her and hold her close.

"This has been quite a day!" Amber said.

"It sure has! Welcome home for real Shadow." He nuzzled her neck and squeezed her tightly against him. She sighed happily and giggled softly.

"I'm so very happy. For once in a very long time. Thank you for being patient with me."

"Of course! I've wanted you for too long. But I never thought I'd actually get here with you. I'm happy too."

Amber sighed again."I love you Tom.*

This made his sould soar."I love you too Amber. He kissed her cheek and sighed too. They fell asleep blissfully sated.
