Hide got a text the next morning.

Shuu smiled at his phone in relief. At least Ken was okay. That made it easier.

"W-what was that for?" Ken asked, blushing lightly and pushing Hide away.
"For the future! So we can look back and reminisce about when we were young and beautiful."
Ken just laughed. That was something she loved about Hide, how he made her actually enjoy the circumstances, no matter what they were.
Like being stuck in a hospital, for instance.
But she was already feeling better. Knowing the truth helped, even though it was awful. Hide had already helped her schedule weekly appointments for a therapist and a rape victims support group. With any luck, she'd be discharged within the week.
The one thing that Hide couldn't fix was her relationship with Shuu, but he'd come around sooner or later. He couldn't stay away from her forever, right? Just because he hadn't texted her or been back to see her meant nothing...
"Oh! That's right!" Ken said, turning to Hide. "I..." She bit her lip. "I want to see Ayato. To apologize. A-and to thank him."
Hide nodded, his eyes sparkling wisely. "I'll talk to him."
"Thanks, Hide."
That was another trying she liked about Hide. The way he was able to fill the hole in her heart, even just a little bit.
