~Eugene's Pov~

No matter how hard I try, I keep making things worst.
Bea still isn't better, she's worst. Dads not here, it's all my fault. I told him I hated him, I shouldn't have. Why is everything a mess? The only mess I should be in is the mess of clothes on the floor in my room. But I don't get the idea of a floor-drobe like other teenagers. But well I'm twenty so I'm not one anymore. Anyway, were was I? Oh yes...

Then there's Edythe.

Edythe.

She was another beautiful mistake.
But the best one I've ever made.

And now I'm falling for her. I've had many nights to convince myself not to. I can't fall in love with her. But I am, and I can't help it.

She fixed one mess- my mother. Which I'm great full for.

But now I've made a whole new one. Falling into a mess of love.

Something I thought would never happen. But there was just something about her... something that made me go absolutely crazy.

Like for the first time, finally, finally, something felt right.

Now I'm not going to be lovey dovey here, but, she'll become the centre of someone's world one day. And he'll be the luckiest son of a bitch on this earth.

And I hate that I'm still hoping...

Hoping she likes me back, but of course she doesn't. She's made it very clear at the start.

"Earth to Eugene?" I hear a small sweet voice.

"Huh?" I turn to face my little sister siting up on the hospital bed, eating her breakfast.

"You zoned out." She laughs.

"Sorry." I apologise smiling back at her.

"That's okay. It's not everyday that you meet a girl like Edythe."

"What?" I say at the mention of her name.

Bea giggles. "Your thinking about her, aren't you?"

"No." I lied.

"You so are." She points at me accusingly.

"It's not nice to point." I say smacking her hand away.

"Don't change the subject, Mr!"

"I'm not." I put my hands up in defence.

"When will you bring her again?"
She nags me for the hundredth time today. I counted.

"I- I don't know. But I know you really want to see her so I'll ask her-"

"Can you call her now! Can she come now?" Bea asks wide eyes full of excitement of her new bestie.

"She could be busy, Bea." I say holding her hand.

"But, can I just talk to her?"

"What about, I can bring her tomorrow to see you." I say thinking about her working at my house. Mum can look after hunter instead of her, and I can bring her to see Bea.

"Okay!" She grins.

"You need to get some rest." I say looking at the time.

"Eugene?" Bea's small voice said again.

"Yeah?"

"After I'm gone," I gulp hearing those words. "Don't push her away. Not her, you'll need her. I know you will."

I couldn't imagine what I'd do if Bea was gone. I tried not to think about it. But she's right, i can't push the people I care about, away.

I nod and give her a smile smile. She wraps her arms around me and then lays down and closes her eyes. Only the sound of the heart monitor was filling the room with a girl who's just holding on.

I let out an awkward cough. Wait, is there any such thing as an awkward cough? Well I guess you could call this an awkward situation, well for Sebastian.

Ten minutes has passed and I just been watching Sebastian stare down at his phone with a frown.

He's deciding whether or not ask Amy out on a date. Which I gave him the full talk of "duh obviously".
Which in reality was only two words with a full stop.

"Maybe I should rent a sound proof room first... just in case."

"Damnnit, Seb, just ring her for god sakes! It's not that hard." I yell.

"Says you. You can't even pluck up the courage to ask Edythe out." He argued.

"At least I told her how I feel." I say smacking the back of his head.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever." Sebastian says pushing me off the couch. I landed with a thump on the floor. I managed to get up and snatched the phone off Sebastian.

"Hey! Give my phone back! What are you doing?" He yells tackling me.

I managed to hold him back so I could scroll through his contacts to find Amy's number. Then I pressed call and gave it to Sebastian.

"No no no no. What the hell." He says wide eyed staring at the phone screen.

"I made it easy for you." I smirk.

"What do I do?" He holds his phone by his pointer finger and thumb like it has poison ivy on it looking horrified.

This is his blonde moment... he could have just ended the call. I mean duhhhhhhh.

"Well I mean there's a 'hang up' button-" I start but was cut off by Amy's voice.

"Hello?"

Sebastian looks at me- no, glares at me.

"Or you take to long and she picks up." I finish my sentence.

Sebastian punches me really hard in the shoulder before leaping off the couch and answering Amy.

I didn't know signing up for Cupid means a punch in the shoulder.
Where's my refund?

I laugh and shake my head. I hear the doorbell ring a few seconds later. I dragged myself up and opened the door to see Eydthe standing there looking ravishingly beautiful.

I mean, all the girls I've been with were beautiful. But Edythe is a different beauty. Everything about her sparkled.

"Hi." I blurted out awkwardly. After I confessed a bit of how I felt, I left straight away. I just things were a little awkward.

"Hi." She says back in a sweet voice. God just hearing her voice make me want to kiss her.

That kiss.

How stupid of me, why would I take her first kiss? But then again, it was the best kiss I've felt. Again, not gonna get lovey here, but god.
I didn't regret it. Even though I told her I did.

I wanted more, every time I see her, I could help but think back to what her lips tasted like on mine. It's like trying to quit smoking.

I dig my nails into my palms to stop me from getting to close.

"Things aren't gonna be awkward, are they?" She asks.

"No." I say shaking my head. "Sorry if I'm being awkward."

Sorry? Wow, what is wrong with me?

I let her in, she walks into the mansion and looks around even through she knows what it already looks like.

"I can hear Sebastian." She laughs quietly.

"Oh," I chuckled remembering what happened. "I rung Amy for him and hopefully he has asked her out."

"Really?" She says, her eyes widen in happiness. "That's great! She's gonna scream out the whole neighbourhood."

Just then Edythe's phone rung. She looked at the phone screen then looked at me with a smile.

"Or scream out my eardrum." She says as she answers, putting it on speaker for the both of us to hear.

"OMG OMG OMG!" Amy screeched through the speaker. How a girl has that much power in her voice, I don't know.

"YOU WONT BELIEVE WHAT JUST HAPPENED!"

I chuckled, then I saw Sebastian coming back down the stairs with a smile. Edythe looks at me then back to Sebastian.

"Ah, hold that thought-"

"NO YOU NEED TO LET ME FINISH!" Amy yells.

"Is that Amy?" Sebastian asks.

"Ah, no?" Let's say I'm a bad lair.

"SEBASTIAN HOTTIE NUMBER ONE ASKED ME OUT!"

"She thinks I'm hot?" Sebastian whispers coming closer to the phone.

"That's great- but I think you should tell me when he's not in-"

"I CANT BELIEVE IT! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? I CANT! WHENS EUEGNE GONNA ASK YOU?" Amy's yell sounded the room.
Edythe blushed and bit down on her bottom lip.

"Ah, Amy..." she mumbles.

"Oh, Eugene is there. Isn't he?" She says in her normal voice.

"Ah huh."

"Oops?" She laughs nervously.
"That must have been embarrassing for you."

Edythe laughs. "Well it will be embarrassing for you when I tell you that Sebastian has also been listening this whole time."

"Omg... tell me your joking." Amy says in a whisper.

"So apparently I'm a hottie number one?" Sebastian says chuckling.

"Oh god... this is awkward... I think I'm gonna hang up now." Amy whispers then hangs up the phone.

We all quietly stare at my phone for five seconds before bursting into laughter.
