•Chapter nineteen•
"He's here!" Amy yells as she shakes my shoulders violently like I didn't get the message.
"Okay! Okay! Go!" I push her away and out the door. I watched from the window, her walking out to see Sebastian waiting by his car.
I smiled at both of them.
"Are you ready to go?" Eugene says from behind me.
"Yup." I smile.
We are going to visit Bea today, I was very excited to see her bubbly self. I heard she has been nagging Eugene to see me, which made me laugh.
"Did Sebastian tell you where he's taking Amy?" I ask him as we start the engine in the black car.
The hospital is only 20 minutes away.
"I think he's taking her to the Aquarium." He replied.
"She'll love that." I smile.
Finally they are going out. Amy was over at the mansion waking me up at 6 this morning just to get ready for the pick up at 10. Yeah, four hours of choosing an outfit, hair and makeup. I had to convince her to use light makeup because I know that Sebastian wants to see her actual face and not a makeup coated one.
She literally used up all of my eye liner because she couldn't get the wing right.
I was pretty much left with my eyelash curler and my cherry lip gloss I hid in my pocket.
"My hair looks like a crime scene." I say as I catch my reflection in the window.
"You look perfect, Edythe." He whispered under his breathe covering it up with a cough. My heart beats against my chest so hard as I heard it. I looked at him and he smiled awkwardly and a tad embarrassed.
We sat in silence for a few minutes until we pulled up at the hospital.
I tie my hair back in a bun to get the curls off my face, and follow Eugene to the reception.
"Two passes meeting Bea-"
"Only one is allowed to visit today. Family members only." The old lady said glaring at her computer.
"One pass then." Eugene sighed.
The lady looked up and slide the visiting pass across the table.
"One has to stay in the reception area. Sorry for the convenience." Although she didn't sound sorry at all.
Eugene took the pass and gave it to me. I started to say something but then remembered that Bea wanted to see me. So I took the pass as Eugene took a seat in the reception.
I went down the corridor to find door 34 which was on the first floor... somewhere. All I see was white; walls, floors, equipment, doors and ceilings. They could have spiced this up a bit and added some colour... at least to their shoes. I feel like I'm in the movie 'the island' or 'the maze runner.' Where everyone is dressed in white.
God what if we had a future like that? Beats me, we probably will.
I shifted at the thought of my children living in that world, or my grandchildren. Then I frown at the thought of even thinking about having children.
Do I want children?
My goodness slow down, I tell myself, you gotta get married first.
Maybe I should just stop thinking. Yeah, that sounds good.
I opened the door to Bea's room, I see a blonde girl with pink clips in her hair. Well at least she knows what colour is.
"Edythe!" She yells excitedly. I grin and run up to her bed and brace her in a hug. She's like a little sister.
"Hi Bea!" I say smiling. "How are you?"
"I'm great now your here!"
I grinned again. Her hair was in a Messy curly bun just like mine, but with pink star clips.
"How's everything?" I ask her.
"He's good." She smirks.
My mouth hung open, did she just?
"I meant with your-"
"I know what you meant." She giggles. "Eugene will be your everything, I know it. I'm like Alice from Twilight, I can see the future."
"Curse whoever even played that movie." I muttered, blushing.
"You know very well that you like him."
How can a ten year old know so much? Does she have some kind of creepy superficial powers?
"Ah..."
She laughs lightly. "It's okay, I wont tell. But my condition is fine, it hasn't changed."
"Well at least your okay. Eugene couldn't come in, he had to wait in the reception area cause an old lady decided only one person can visit." I rolled my eyes.
"Stupid old lady." She crosses her arms. " I only wanted to see you anyway." Bea smiles and shrugs.
I laugh. "Do you want me to get you a drink or anything?"
"Could you get me some water, please?" She says, her brown eyes staring up at me.
"Sure, one water coming right up!" I smile and start walking out the door to the vending machine.
I slide a dollar in and press the number of the water chamber. I look down the hall as I wait, seeing Eugene sitting there... with someone. I frown and lean over so I could see the person more clearly.
Molly.
Freaking Molly.
And it looks like she isn't at the hospital because on an injury. Well maybe I should give her one for a reason to be here.
No. We have to be nice to everybody, even if that includes clingy ex girlfriends.
I took the bottle and turned my back to walk back to Bea's room.
I knew, once a blonde gets her hands on someone like Eugene, you may as well either stay for the night or catch a taxi home. I took one look around the corner and saw them walking out the door of the hospital together. I rest my case.
I sigh and go back to Bea's room.
I spent the rest of the afternoon watching Disney movies with her and throwing popcorn at the bad guys on the screen. When it was time to go she seemed to have forgotten about Eugene waiting in reception, which he wasn't there anymore.
After the goodbyes, I walk to the front of the hospital to see Eugene's empty seat. I didn't glance back at it as I walked out of the doors.
I saw the sun setting and looked around for a cab or a bus.
Nothing came into view, so I grabbed my phone to call Amy then remembered she was with Sebastian. I cursed.
I scrolled through the contacts, and pressed on mums icon. I held the phone to my ear and waited until she picked up.
When she did, a voice from behind me made me jump.
"Hey girly."
"Edythe?" Mums panicked voice ring the the phone.
Except I was to scared to reply as the figure walked towards me.
