•Chapter fourteen•
I would be lying if I told you that I didn't spend another second in that closet.
As soon as the words left his lips, he saw the hurt in my eyes, and I saw the hurt in his. He called after me but I had already grabbed my phone and was at the elevator, violently pressing the button.
Finally I went in and closed the doors, taking a few seconds to relax.
I shouldn't have kissed you.
Why do boys always say the wrong things? It's not like I wanted to, but I couldn't say no to my stupid heart.
I pressed the ground floor button and wiped a fallen tear. Why am I crying? I should be angry, I should- it shouldn't have effected me.
Before I could comprehend what I was doing, I unlocked my phone, opening up contacts and hitting the call button.
"Hello sweetie! How's Orlando?" My mothers voice says happily.
I paused, I didn't want her to think I'm not having fun.
"It's really good, Ma." I say trying to sound completely normal.
I hated that I missed his lips on mine.
"That's good- hold on what's wrong?"
I broke down in tears as i reached the ground floor, stepping out the elevator. I headed out the doors of the hotel.
"Eugene kissed me." I say, my eyes burning.
"That's amaz- why are you crying? I hope they are happy tears." She says.
"H-he pulled away and said he shouldn't have kissed me. Oh Mum I'm so stupid, of course he wouldn't want to kiss me! I'm just a complete waste of skin."
"Your not a waste of skin. He just doesn't see what's right infront of him." Mum says softly.
"Boys say wrong things because that's what their mind is speaking, he was probably scared that you didn't want to kiss him."
I sigh, "That's the thing, Ma, I kissed him back. I'm so stupid."
"Your not stupid, it's called love."
I nearly chocked, "love? This isn't love, that was a stupid spur of the moment thing. Hell I don't even like him!"
Didn't I?
"You must have felt something, if you kissed him back." She says, then I hear her chewing food in her mouth.
"Ma, close your mouth when you eat."
"Yeah yeah." She hushed. "What happened afterwards?"
I brushed my hair out of my face and looked at my surroundings, I saw small shops selling ice creams and coffee, children nagging their parents for treats. I wish I was seven right now.
"I ran." I say to mum.
"You-" she started until she heard a voice throw the phone.
"Edythe, right?" A voice said from behind me, I turned around to see the blond boy, Oscar.
"Ma, I have to go, I'll talk to you later." I say.
"Okay, you'll be okay, love you." She says before hanging up.
"Hey, have you been crying?" Oscar asks, looking at me worried.
"Crying? Pfft I don't even have tear ducts." I say laughing nervously.
I really just want to be alone right now.
"What were you crying about?" He says seriously.
So I did another stupid thing, I talked about my problems to a complete stranger.
"Eugene kissed me then backed out and said he shouldn't have." I say looking down at my feet.
"I'm guessing he's the one that interrupted us?" Oscar frowns.
"Yeah. That one."
"Why did he say that?" Oscar questions.
"He took my first kiss."
"Mm, well I wouldn't blame him, I would freak out too." Oscar admits.
What is with boys and their brain function?
"Oi Oscar!" Someone called, another boy ran up to us, a big grin on his face when he saw Oscar. He turns to me and holds out his hand.
"Hey, I'm Tyler."
"Hi." I smile back, shaking his hand.
"So? You two huh?" Tyler says wiggling his eyebrows. Shock came to Oscars face and mine, Oscar hit Tyler's arm and laughs.
"Dude stop."
"Love you." Tyler batts his eyes playfully.
Then it struck me.
I look between them both, of course!
"You two?" I point between them.
Oscar smiles and nods, "I wanted to tell you, but your boyfriend interrupted me."
"Eugene isn't my boyfriend." I huff. "But this is so cute, I never thought-"
"Tyler is my boyfriend? Yeah no one really knows." Oscar smiles.
"Wow." I smile. It's so cute seeing something as pure as two people love each other, even when it's the same gender.
"But anyway, are you okay?" Oscar says changing back to the topic we were on.
"I'm fine, it's alright. Things will work out on its own I guess." I say.
"We believe in you." Tyler smiles even though he has no idea what was happening.
"Okay, I better go." I smile turning on my heel.
"Bye Edythe!" Tyler and Oscar call.
"Bye." I wave.
Who knew that there are some people in this world who can lighten up your bad day in a matter of minutes.

I went back to the hotel room, luckily not bumping into Eugene. I really didn't have the decency to face him right now. But I know that we would have to talk about what happened. I don't think I could act like it was nothing. There had to be a reason he did it, was it really just a spur of the moment?
I open the door and sneaked into the bathroom to have a shower. Washing away today, the kiss. But I don't want to forget it, I can't and I won't. Maybe there is a reason?
No. Stupid girl.
It was for his own pleasure at that moment- I mean- it's not like he can get anything on his business trip.
I couldn't think about it anymore, it hurt my eyes- the tears.
I finished up, putting on my pjs and laying on my side of the bed.
I closed my eyes because staring at a ceiling wasn't so exciting.
"You know, their only helpful for one thing, then their pretty useless after that." Amy says aloud in the silence of the room.
A smile tugs at my lips. "I want to punch them in the face sometimes."
"Tell me about it! Sebastian doesn't get the hit that I like him, I mean, aren't I making it pretty obvious? And still, he hasn't asked me out." Amy sighs. "Then Eugene need to learn to actually communicate with happy sentences."
I burst out laughing. "You got that right."
"You can't avoid him forever. You gonna want answers." She says. I stare at the ceiling, thinking. Why do people in movies stare at the ceiling? I mean it's just a ceiling. Nothing too exciting. Oh and then the bus scenes where they rest their head on the window and it looks so peaceful. But in reality if you rest your head on a bus window your skull turns into a smoothie machine and your brain becomes mush.
Not the point.
I hummed in response, not needing to reply. Amy kept quiet, probably asleep even.

"What's the plan today?" Amy asks Eugene at the breakfast table.
My eyes stayed down at my delicious looking pancakes and chocolate sauce.
"Well, I was thinking-" he stopped and pulled out his phone that was vibrating.
"Excuse me." At the corner of my eye I saw him glance at me for a second before getting up from his chair and picking up the call.
"The tension is real." Sebastian says.
"Why aren't you talking?" Hunter questions. I look up at him, his adorable innocent face worried.
"We- we just had a little argument." I say. But it wasn't an argument at all. He freaking kissed me.
Eugene comes back to our table. I still didn't make eye contact with him.
"What's up?" Sebastian says to Eugene.
"The ceiling." I mumbled.
"It was- it was the hospital." Eugene replied.
