•Chapter five•
A blue dress was lying on my bed when I walked into my new room. I knew it was for tonight.
I held it up examining the dress, it was a long turquoise blue dress with white lace wrapped around the bottom hem of the dress and the waist. It was absolutely beautiful.
It was nearly five, so I put on the dress and went into the large ensuite. The mirrors spread cross the wall, the sink was placed in the middle of the stone bench and a line of NUDE makeup and hair accessories were in the cupboards.
I raised my eyebrows as I grabbed the BB cream from the cupboard, along with a hair brush and lipstick.
I found no need for foundation even though we were probably going to a fancy restaurant.
I ran the brush through my long brown thick hair that was always crinkled. I curled my eyelashes instead of using mascara, then I placed on a dark shade of lipstick. I dabbed it on so it was only a hint of colour not the full dark affect.
Once I was satisfied with everything, I grabbed my bag, including my unfinished lint chocolate and shut my bedroom door behind me.
I eat my chocolate while coming down the stairs.
I could see two figures standing at the bottom. One had blonde hair- Sebastian. The other brown haired was Eugene. They both were wearing their suites with a tie.
Sebastian caught me first, he smiled up at me and nudged Eugene on he shoulder and smirked.
My breath stopped as he looked at me with those brown eyes that held the depth of the earth.
He look me up and down and I could see the amusement in his eyes, except he tried not to let it show in his face. He forced a frown on his face.
"Suits you okay." He simply says.
"Okay? Helloooo?" Sebastian says snapping his fingers in front of Eugene's face. "She's-"
"We need to go otherwise we will be late." Eugene interrupted with a glare.
"Oh, and we wouldn't want that." I cooed.
"Try and refrain yourself from using that tone with me, sweetheart." Eugene says carefully.
I roll my eyes when they both had turned away. I followed after them into the grey super duper awesome expensive car they had.
"Try not to fill my car with negative energy." Eugene says to both of us.
I glare at the front window from the back.
"Oh, cause the negative energy is so bad for the car." I mumble.
"What was that, sweetheart?"
"Don't call me that." I say even though it made my heart leap.
"I shall call you what I like." Eugene's face in the review mirror had a little smirk plastered on. I scrowl at him from the back seat of the car.
It didn't take long to get there, thank god. The tension in the air was killing me. I caught Eugene looking at me a few times in the mirror so I glared back at him in response. He looks almost confused.
Probably because I'm not falling to his feet like every other girl does. And even if he's 'hotter than a hair straightener" I will not fall for his despicable arrogance.
"Were here." Sebastian says. I look out the window to see a huge new sign.
"We totally couldn't tell by the massive sign." I say sarcastically to Sebastian with a hint of humour.
He just laughs. Something that Eugene should learn how to do.
"benvenuto al nostro nuovo ristorante italiano." The guy speaks.
I look at him with slight confusion. I'm guessing it's Italian.
Surprisingly, Eugene talked back in the same kind of language.
"grazie, tavolo per tre prega."
"Ah, sure, right this way." The Italian man finally speaks in a language I can comprehend.
We take a seat at the table that held three chairs. Eugene, trying to be the lovely
*cough* gentleman *cough* that he was, pushed out my chair for me to sit.
"Thanks." I say.
"In Italian, we say Grazie." The man told me with a smile on his face. "Start with drinks? What shall the lady have?"
"Ah... apple juice?"
"succo di mela?" The man says to the other man in the bar. The man had a confused look on his face but nodded back anyway.
"Okay, and for you Mr. Rider?"
"Your best champagne." Eugene replied forcing a small smile.
"Same for me please!" Sebastian said after.
"It won't be a long wait, I'll be back with your bevande." He says the last word in Italian again.
We sat in silence at the table. I picked at my nails that were
over grown.
"I heard that if we were the last people on earth, you would push me off a cliff." Eugene says as an icebreaker. "Is that true, sweetheart."
My eyes widened as I cleared my throat. "It could be."
"Ah-huh." He says looking at me amused.
"Your mood swings are really giving me a whiplash." I tell him crossing my arms over my chest.
"My mood swings?" Eugene questions. "What makes you think that?"
I sit up in my chair and make direct eye contact with him.
"First of all, when I first met you, you acted like a complete jerk. Then you try to be nice and offer me a job. Then your acting like a jerk again. And now your sitting here with a sense of humour that I'm about to make you shove it up your ass." I snap.
Sebastian burst out into fits of laughter.
Eugene glares at me.
"See, now your a jerk again." I point out leaning back in my chair satisfied with myself.
Before Eugene (rich hot jerk) could say anything, Mr. I'm-bloody-Italian, guy came with a grin serving out drinks.
"Can he smile anymore?" I mumble as I put my lips to my straw.
Soon after, the first serve of the most popular dish was placed in front of us. Followed by other small plates of tasting Italian food.
I loved every bite. It got me back in a good mood again. I glance over at Sebastian and he looks just as pleased as I am.
"Like what you see?" Sebastian asks grinning at me.
"Just observing how pigs live." I scowl.
Sebastian's jaw dropped. "You wound me."
"Did it hurt?"
"What?"
"Your wound?"
"No?"
"Shame, really." I shrug.
"How's your friend?" Sebastian says. At least someone is keeping up conversation.
"Amy? She's more than okay, probably start screaming in joy if I tell her what I'm doing now." I replied.
"She's pretty."
"She'll probably faint at that." I smirk.
"Don't tell her I said that." Sebastian says unexpectedly.
"I won't."
I totally will.
After dinner we were each given a score card to rate each dish we had out of ten. At the bottom were how many stars that the restaurant deserves.
For mostly every dish was mainly a nine or a ten. Sebastian looked like he had given them all tens. The frown on Eugene's face looked like a harder rating. I hope they do get to open this place, I would definitely come back and eat here again. Mind you, without Mr. Grumbles.
I didn't bother showing I was cold because they would give up their expensive suit to make me warm. I bit my lip to stop myself from shivering while we walk back to the car.
As we were walking, Sebastian dropped back beside me.
"Do you think Amy would say yes if I asked her to have dinner with me?"
I raised my eyebrows at him. "Your not a player are you?"
"No. I promise. That's why I'm asking for your permission, she is your best friend." He says with a pout.
"I think she would scream out the whole neighbourhood and then you will become deaf." I say.
"Oh." He says a bit scared. "I should probably take her into a sound proof room then."
I laugh, Eugene glares at us behind him.
"He's not always a jerk, you just have to break down his walls. Trust me, it took me a year." Sebastian whispered to me.
"I think he has a thing for you." He added.
I chocked on my own spit. Coughing and half laughing at the same time. "I highly doubt that."
Sebastian shrugs. Eugene glares at Sebastian as he sits in the front seat of the car. Sebastian gives him a look that makes him sigh and start the car.
I sit quietly in the back in the silence of the drive home. Sebastian was dropped off at his Aunts on the way, which made the car even more horrible to sit in.
Eugene parked outside of the mansion where I didn't waste another second to get out of this stinking car.
I walked up stairs frowning to myself.
"Edythe?"
I stop and turn around balancing on one foot, holding the staircase rail.
"Yes," I say with a sigh. "Mr.Rider." I finish.
"You looked beautiful tonight."
With that he left before I could even comprehend what he just said.
Did Mr.Rider just complement me?
