Epilogue
For the first time in ten years, the house is dead silent. Not a sound came from anyone other than the tv and the odd little snore escaping from Comet, our two year old German Shepherd, as he snuggles into my lap fast asleep with his tail hitting against the couch. A smile on my lips as I scratch Comet behind his ears and keep him warm. His deep fur keeping my legs warm as he snuggles with a small snort. A relaxing aura wafting around the living room as I try to soak up as much silence and peacefulness as I can before its unfortunately ripped away me.
As I turn my attention back to the tv, I couldn't help but smile as I read the headlines praising a certain three heroes for their recent rankings. Shoto rising high and nabbing the third rank in Japan before Red Riot or Uravity could even grab it. Bakugo, also known as Dynamight, grabbing his former mentors spot at Number Two while, my stepbrother, Deku grabs my fathers former spot as number one and as the Symbol of Peace. Just thinking about it draws me to the photo on the mantle of the three boys and I at their graduation with Hiro and, my first daughter, Ayumi snuggling into Bakugo.
It's crazy to think that it's been eight years since the boys graduated from U.A... that they're all grown adults and the strongest heroes in Japan.... they're parents; they're married... well, Shoto is married and Deku is married and Shoto has kids. Bakugo's engaged with a lovely woman and are planning on having children soon.
It's sweet to see them so happy.
The sound of the steps on the stairs creaking catches my attention, making me look over the back of the couch to see who it is that's just woken up from their slumber. A happy smile on my lips when I see my husband walking in with our youngest daughter in his arms, her little head of white hair snuggles into his chest as she whines gently.
"Good morning," Toya hums, kneeling down to give me a morning kiss, smiling as I kiss back and then kiss my youngest daughter's, Mizumi's, forehead softly, "Get ready for hell, Ayumi's just woken up,"
"Thanks for the warning," I hum gently, pulling Mizumi into my arms and kissing her cheek as she yawns and snuggles into my chest with a whine, "Good morning, baby girl, did you have a good sleep? Any fun dreams?"
"Too tired, mama," Mizumi whines, burying her face into my neck and clinging onto my bed robe with a small groan, "Was gonna have choccie cake! Then daddy woke me up!"
"Well, then," I hum, softly, tapping Comet to get off my lap so I can push to my feet and walk into the kitchen to sort out Mizumi's cereal for breakfast while Toya grabs Hiro's, Ayumi's and Saori's school bags, "Maybe daddy can make up for it by letting you have some chocolate cake today,"
Happy with the reply, Mizumi smiles brightly toward me with her baby teeth glimmering in the light. Giggling gently, I sit her down in her high chair and kiss her little button nose before turning to the kitchen counter to pour her cereal into her bowl while Toya proceeds to fill her sippy cup with orange juice.
Mizumi is Toya and I's youngest child and daughter. She is our fourth and final child. I have to admit that her pregnancy was indeed a huge surprise. She's only two years old and has a significant age gap between Hiro and her two older sisters. Regardless, she's spoilt and loved so much in our household with her cute little baby face. She possessed Rei's beautiful flowing white hair that's currently at her shoulders and has beautiful (e/c) eyes. She is adorable! I can't believe how beautiful she is!
With Mizumi happily eating her cereal with a bib around her to make sure she didn't make a mess of her cute little onesie, I begin to make lunch for my other three children. Making sure that I make a wrap for Saori instead of sandwiches because she doesn't like bread. Making sure that Hiro's lunch contains the protein and the carbs that he wants so he can become the best student in his class. Making sure that Ayumi's bento doesn't have any mushrooms unless I want to face her wrath.
"Ayumi! Get the hell out of my room!"
Upon hearing Hiro scream at his younger sister, Toya and I curse under our breaths and brace ourselves for the storm that is Hiro and Ayumi. Clearing my throat, I place the kids bento boxes into their bags before washing my hands and drying them up with a small hum. Little Mizumi covers her ears as Hiro and Ayumi bicker between each other as they head downstairs toward the kitchen.
Toya and I mentally argue with one another on who's going to step in. Toya nodding toward them while I stare at him with wide eyes and move my head to the side. The pair of us staring each other down before I curse under my breath, knowing I've lost the stare down, and grab the kitchen towel.
"Oi! That's enough!" I speak up, cutting their bickering short as they stop and look toward me. Hiro groaning to himself as he runs his fingers through his red locks while Ayumi rolls her eyes at me, "It's too early in the morning for this. Ayumi, you know not to wake your brother up and Hiro, calm yourself down. Get yourselves breakfast,"
"Sorry mom," Hiro hums, clad in a loose shirt and shorts, looking up at me before whining as I pull him into a hug and kiss his forehead. A laugh leaving his lips as I ruffle his hair, "Good morning,"
"Good morning, sweetie," I hum, holding my only son close and rocking us from side to side as he takes a deep breath to calm himself down, "Have a good sleep?"
"Yeah, I slept all the way through tonight," Hiro says with a smile, pulling away to make himself some cereal while Ayumi plops some bread in the toaster, "I gotta choose my internship today,"
"You know where you're going yet?" I ask, handing Ayumi the butter and the jam for her toast before sitting by Mizumi and wiping the milk off her chin, "You going to Uncle Sho's agency?"
"Uh... I was thinking maybe... Dynamight's Agency," Hiro explains making Toya stop in his tracks of heading upstairs to get Saori while he sits at the dining table with his bowl of cereal, "Or... maybe see if I can do one week with Uncle Sho and one week with Kacchan,"
"That sounds great," I hum, smiling as Mizumi presses a kiss to her brothers cheek with a bright giggle, "I'm sure I can make it work, I'll have a word with Kat and Sho to see what we can do,"
"Thanks mama," Hiro hums, digging into his cereal before kicking Ayumi under the table as his sister snorts at him, "Shut up,"
"You shut up," Ayumi retorts, kicking Hiro back making it into a war of feet between them making me groan. Ayumi kicking at Hiro while he kicks twice as hard at her, "Ow! That was my ankle!"
Letting them get on with it, knowing that there's not point getting involved when they're like this, I help Mizumi out of her high chair and then let her waddle off toward the living room to go play with Comet and watch kids cartoon. After wiping down the high chair and making sure that it's dry, I make myself and Saori some toast as Toya goes upstairs to get our second daughter and third child.
Ayumi, otherwise known as Jellybean to most of the family, is my second oldest and is ten years old and my oldest daughter. Much like her father, Ayumi loves to scrap with her siblings and show off and start a ruckus between herself and Hiro. She'll play pranks on him, she'll wake him up when she's not supposed to. She's a little shit, to put it plainly, but she can be an angel. She had her fathers mischievous turquoise eyes but my (h/c) hair with little red tips at her ends that is styled into a pixie cut. Her quirk, Float, was much like my fathers successor's quirk. She could make herself float and propel herself off any surface but she could also, like myself, lift objects with her quirk (just not mentally).
And she had quite the explosive personality!
My third oldest and my second daughter, Saori, is quite quiet and extremely introverted. She isn't very sociable and doesn't really like loud noises (which isn't helpful when Hiro and Ayumi are at loggerheads). Despite that, she is extremely smart and quick witted and knows what she's doing. She has beautiful red and white hair, red at the roots and white at the ends that goes down to her waist and is often styled into twin braids. She also has Toya's turquoise eyes. She's only eight years old. Her quirk is just like Shoto's. She has both Telekinesis and Cremation. Luckily it doesn't burn her skin!
Speaking of the devil, Saori walks down the stairs and into the kitchen. Her arms wrap around my waist as she buries her head into my back with a tired yawn. Smiling softly, I turn around and kiss her forehead before handing her her breakfast and letting her trudge to the dining room to eat.
"I'm gonna go for a shower," Hiro begins, standing to his feet before yelling as Ayumi races across the kitchen to get to the shower first with Hiro racing after her, "Ayumi! Stop it! I said I was going in first!"
"Ayumi! Let your brother go in first!" Toya yells up the stairs, dodging the pillow that Ayumi chucks at him with a chuckle before smiling, "He has to leave earlier than you do so let him sort himself out!"
"Ugh! Fine!" Ayumi groans, storming around upstairs with a small whine, "Don't take too long Hiro!"
Rolling my eyes at the pair of them, I kiss Saori's forehead as she hands me her empty plate before she heads upstairs to have a shower in my bathroom connected to my bedroom. With the three of them getting ready for school, I head back into the living room where Toya and Mizumi are cuddling on the couch with Comet gnawing on one of his toys.
Smiling, I join in with their cuddle and kiss my husbands cheek and snuggle into him. The pair of us watching tv while Mizumi plays with her stuffed penguin. The little girl babbling to herself while Toya braids her hair with a small hum.
"What are you going to do today?" I ask, looking toward my husband as he grabs a hair tie from the coffee table and tie off one of the braids he made in Mizumi's hair before beginning to make a second one, "Anything exciting?"
"Well, I've got the golden boys twins today since their babysitter's going on a date with Bakugo," Toya explains, kissing the crown of Mizumi's hair with a small hum making me laugh gently, "Dad's joining us and we're gonna go to the park and then get some ice cream. Ryoku and Kōri have been crazing me for action figures so we're going to go to the hero store too,"
"Sounds like fun," I hum, pulling Mizumi into my lap when he's finished to allow Saori to sit in her fathers lap after she finishes getting herself showered and clothes, "You excited to see Ryoku and Kōri, my little snowflake?"
"Yeah!" Mizumi cheers, clapping her hands before squealing as the doorbell rings making Toya curse under his breath as he begins braiding Saori's hair, "Uncle Sho! Uncle Sho!"
Giggling gently, I head toward the front door and open it up to see Shoto who's standing there with his twin boys holding their own bags to spend the day with Toya. Shoto's hair had been grown out, the male able to put it in a ponytail (which is just waiting for Toya to pull on when he's not aware of it). Ryoku and Kōri smile toward me and wave before walking into the living room to terrorise Toya.
"Morning," Shoto hums, walking in and laughing as Mizumi latches onto him within seconds, "How are you? You good?"
"If you think spending your morning getting four kids ready for the day is good, then yeah, I'm good," I hum, letting Enji in after Shoto with a small hum and laughing as Saori bombards her grandfather, "Saori, careful, come on. Your grandfather just got in the door,"
Seconds later, the sound of Hiro yelling echoes through the house making Toya sigh as Ayumi slides down the banister and rushes past us into the kitchen with Hiro chasing after her in his U.A uniform. Instantly, Toya grabs Hiro to prevent a full scale fire in our house while I catch Ayumi before she can escape upstairs and keep her in place.
"What is going on?" I ask as Enji sits on the couch and pulls out Saori's braid to redo them (making Toya eye him with a frown) as Hiro wriggles in his fathers grip, "Let's calm down, and tell us what's going on?"
"She stole something from my room!" Hiro exclaims, groaning as Toya pulls him a good distance away from Ayumi before whining as Ayumi opens it up, "Mom!"
"That's enough," I hum, snatching the note from Ayumi making her whine as I pocket it in my robe, "Ayumi, you don't steal things from your brothers room, go get yourself ready for school,"
"It's a note for Eri!" Ayumi exclaims making Toya and I freeze and stare at each other with a big smile, "What?"
"Go get ready sweetie," I hum, patting her back and letting her scurry upstairs before racing to the kitchen with Toya in tow. Hiro whining as he trudges to the kitchen and slumps against the kitchen door as he shuts it behind him, "So~ Eri huh? Your dad now owes me money,"
"You really need to stop betting on things," Hiro says rubbing his temple as Toya slides his promised money to me while I pull the note out of my pocket, "Mom! Come on! Don't look at it!"
"Maybe a little peek?" I ask cheekily, slowly folding the corner of the note over making Hiro sigh and nod reluctantly, "Yay!"
Excitedly, I open up the note and giggle to myself as I read over the note. My heart bursting for joy as I hand it to Toya who reads over it before clapping his son on the back with a grin and high fiving him with a smirk. Hiro covering his bright red face as we coo and smother him with cuddles. The note read:
Dear Eri,
I... I just wanna tell you that I think you're really, really cute and I was wondering if you wanted to go out for lunch at the weekend? You don't have to! But I would really love it if you say yeah! No pressure or anything!
From Hiro
Since Hiro has gone to U.A, the boy wanting to follow his uncle Shoto's footsteps in becoming a hero, he's gotten to see Eri more than he used to. He's in Shota's class, Class 1A, with me as the assistant and Eri is in his class too! It takes every ounce of my body not to tease them about it! They're just so cute together!
"(Y/n)! Fuyumi's here!" Enji calls out making me yell a thank you back before kissing my sons nose and heading toward the front door to let Fuyumi into the house to take Saori and Ayumi to school.
"Girls! Ready to go?" I ask looking toward my older girls who nod and slip into their shoes and grab their school bags with small hums, "Okay, have a good day, behave yourself. Ayumi, I don't want the school ringing me up again, okay? I love you,"
"Whatever mom," Ayumi hums, shrugging on her bag with a small hum before whining as I give her the eyes, "Okay, I love you too,"
"Bye bye, mama," Saori hums, kissing my cheek and hugging me tightly, "I love you too,"
As I kiss their foreheads and give them a squeeze goodbye, Toya walks over to do the same before letting Fuyumi leave with the girls. A smile on my lips as I watch them leave before grinning as Eri walks toward the front door in her own U.A uniform. Excitement bubbles in my chest as Eri waves toward me and gives me a small hug as a hello before giggling as I ruffle her hair.
"Hiro! Eri's here!" I call out, snorting when I hear Toya tease Hiro about it making the younger male elbow his dad in the side before he grabs his bag and slips into his shoes, "Have a good day sweetie, I'll see you two in about half an hour,"
"Thanks mama," Hiro hums, kissing my cheek before clearing his throat and looking toward Eri with a small blush, "Let's go,"
Waving the pair of them off, Toya and I shut the front door before sighing in relief at the fact that our older kids are now at school and we have some silence. The pair of us sharing a soft kiss in the hallway before walking into the living room where Mizumi is playing with Shoto's ponytail and Enji is playing tug of war with Comet. Ryoku and Kōri were watching tv. A smile on my lips as Toya pulls me into the kitchen and watches as I begin to make my own lunch now that I can focus on getting myself ready.
"I think it was great that I ran away, baby doll," Toya hums, wrapping his arms around my waist from behind, pressing a soft kiss to my cheek as we sway gently to inaudible music making me giggle gently with a bright smile, "You wanna know why?"
"Why?" I ask, resting my head against his shoulder to look up at him, smiling as he presses a quick peck to my lips before burying his head into my neck and inhaling my perfume, "What was so good about leaving me for those four years, Mr. Todoroki?"
"I got to fall in love with you all over again,"...
