Chapter 35

Taking a deep breath, I slowly place my feet in front of one another. A giggle leaving my lips when I hear Hiro's bright squeal of laughter with the faint sound of his feet bouncing on the floor beneath us. The hands wrapping around my own gently squeezes my own, I could feel the jubilance radiating off each and every person joining us on this day out. A bright smile playing on my lips as excitement bubbles in my stomach. My whole body vibrating happily for this moment.

After all, I've been waiting for this all my life! It's so exciting! Who knew, after all these years, that my boyfriend is still alive and he would propose to me! It had to be one of the best moments of my life!

So here I am, blindfolded.

Being pulled by Fuyumi through, what I can only assume, a mall giggling like a school girl. With Shoto by my side (Dabi sent him to join us to make sure the dress was perfect (not that he doesn't trust his sister or anything with style)). With Rei, my future mother in law, leading me from behind to make sure I don't topple. Cold hands lay gently on my shoulder to lead me through, making sure I didn't trip over on anything. Plus my father, who was adamant he came. We also had Hiro holding Shoto's hand excited, his eyes sparkling. Joining us too, was two of Shoto's classmates and one of Hawks' work friends. Momo Yaoyorozu. Mina Ashido. And Rumi Usagiyama. Number Five Hero. Mirko.

Before I could ask them anything, I am sat down on a black leather couch, the black blindfold pinned across my eyes being untied. Smiling, I blink my eyes open as Rei pulls the blindfold off my eyes, a giggle leaving my lips as I look around and gawk at the sight around me. Beautiful wedding gowns adorning the racks of all cuts, all sizes and all colours. My eyes watering as I look around and smile brightly at the sight.

We are going dress shopping!

Ever since Toya proposed to me three weeks ago, the whole family has been non stop about it. Fuyumi has been bringing home countless bridle magazine to flaunt colour schemes and flower arrangements. Shoto's told his whole class and they're all now planning a surprise bridle shower that I'm not supposed to know about (Midoriya can't keep secrets for shit). Natsuo has been nothing but teasing Toya about it until he release who the best man is. Rei has been absolutely ecstatic. She's told us stories about her and Enji's wedding and how spectacular that was...

Enji was the only one that doesn't know yet, although Rei is trying to build that bridge again. God knows why!

Now we were finally kicking this into full gear! We were finally shopping for the big day! This is amazing! Obviously, we had to wait a while to know if Rei could join us because trying to get the hospital to process a form about a patient leaving the premises takes ages. However, we're here now! An amazing place to be and an amazing thing to be doing!

This was going to be great!

Grinning, Rumi clears her throat and gestures to the readily made rack that I'm assuming everyone has picked out that they like and they think that I would like. All resorting from a mermaid fit to a princess fit. All being adorning with silk or satin and beautiful pearls and jewels making them look amazing. My eyes sparkle at the sight of them. My father squeezes my arms as he hugs me from behind and kisses the crown on my head.

"Which one first, honey?" Rei asks with a smile, holding her hands together as I rush to the rack and assess each and every dress in awe. Hiro by my side feeling the skirt of the dress with an interested 'Ooh' leaving his lips, "We all chose ones that we thought you'd like, obviously you don't have to stick to these,"

"Mama! Mama! Choose this one!" Hiro squeals, pulling gently at one of the princess cut dresses making me giggle and ruffle his hair as he grins, "It's really pretty! You'll look like a princess!"

"How about mama tries it on?" Rumi asks with a smile, hoisting the little man onto her shoulders making his cheer as he plays with her ears, his eyes full of curiosity, "Your son is adorable by the way, I'm going to steal him,"

"I know he is Rumi," I hum, gently taking the dress from the rack and walking behind the curtain with Fuyumi joining me to help wriggle into the dress, "But unless you want your ears singed off, I wouldn't take him, Toya's very protective,"

"I can't believe we're finally getting you wedding dresses," Fuyumi gushes as she helps me into the wedding dress and pulls it up my body, zipping up the back with a hum before grinning, "There we go! Now go pose for everyone!"

"Is she ready?" Momo asks excited, giggling to herself as I hear Mina squeal

"Let's see dress number one!" Mina squeals, clapping her hands as Fuyumi struts out and opens the curtain.

Taking a deep breath, I walk out of the dressing room and onto the mini platform they have, a smile on my lips as I look toward my dad who gasps and smiles. Tears bunching in his eyes as I slowly twirl in the dress. Hiro gawks at me before squealing and clapping his hands.

Dress number one was a beautiful princess cut dress with pearls adorning the bodice. Silk drapes across the skirt of the dress. It was gorgeous. Although, it did feel like my shoulders were being dragged down a bit, the weight of the dress pinning my shoulders down. Felt like a workout just trying to stand upright!

"Mama! You look so pretty! Like a princess!" He squeals smiling, his eyes sparkling in pure awe as I twirl again, "Daddy would like it!"

"You look amazing," Rei adds with a smile, walking up and making sure the dress is properly placed, "What do you think?"

"I like it... but I don't think this is the one," I reply with a soft smile, the dress was gorgeous (don't get me wrong) but this didn't feel like the one, "It feels quite heavy on my upper body,"

"Well, we have all day and a full rack of dresses," Rumi says with a smile, winking toward Fuyumi who rolls her eyes playfully with a giggle (those two have been aimlessly flirting since we met up with the rabbit hero), "Get your beautiful ass back into the changing room and show us another dress,"

Nodding with a giggle, I run my fingers through my hair and head back into the dressing room with a smile. Getting Fuyumi to pull the zipper down and help me shimmy out of the dress before choosing another one. Ready to restart the process all over again until we find the perfect dress. We couldn't give up hope! We have twenty dresses and one of them was going to be the chosen one!

We could do this!

Twenty dresses later, and still no sign of the perfect dress. Each of them either felt too tight around the waist or too heavy along the shoulders or the skirt was too small or too big. One of them had a way too revealing plunging neckline that I wouldn't be caught dead in. Why was this so hard? When I went to prom, I went through five dresses before choosing the one! Why was this so much harder?! I knew I wanted a princess cut, the mermaid hugged my body too much, but these dresses weren't what I wanted... what was wrong with me?!

Only one dress remained, however.

This dress wasn't on the rack in the first place, my father pulled it out from another rack. It didn't seem to be owned by the shop, it had its own rack and the hanger didn't match the ones in the shop. It was beautiful. A princess wedding dress with an amazing skirt and bodice. This had to be the one. It had got to be!

"Last one," Rei says with a small smile, taking it off the rack and taking Fuyumi's place to help me into the dress. The elder Todoroki female happily helping me shimmy into the dress with a smile, "Go on,"

Nodding happily, I slowly walk out of the dressing and onto the platform. It felt perfect, I'm not going to lie. There wasn't any uneven distribution of weight. The fit was perfect. The style was elegant. It was everything that I wanted in a wedding dress. This is the one. It has to be the one. For all I care, it could be the most expensive dress in the store, I'd still buy it. None of the dresses I wore earlier were as flattering and fitting as this.

Once I finish doing a little twirl, I look toward my father who bites back his tears as he covers his mouth. A small smile plays on my lips as I gently lift the skirt and walk toward him before letting it drop. His arms instantly wrapping around me as I snuggle into his hold, a happy sob leaving his lips as he kisses my forehead. The elder blonde wiping his eyes as he takes a deep breath.

"This is the one," I tell him with a smile, looking at my reflection happily as I tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. Excitement bubbling away in my veins, "I love it,"

"Mama! You're so beautiful!" Hiro exclaims happily, his eyes full of awe as he walks up and runs his hand over the fabric, "Soft too!"

"How much is this one?" I ask looking toward my father as he was the one that picked it out, the male chuckling gently as he cleans himself up, "This must be expensive,"

"Actually, I already own it," My father admits, clearing his throat as I look toward him confused. What did he mean? Did he know that I wanted this dress already? How did he already have it? Taking a deep breath, I tilt my head, "That was supposed to be your mother's wedding dress for our wedding... she never got to wear it... I thought you'd might want it for your wedding, I know she'd be so proud of you,"

"Wait... this is moms?" I ask, close to tears as I look toward my reflection again and smile gently to myself. A warm feeling spreading across my chest, "Dad... are you sure I can wear it?..."

"She would want you to," He replies with a smile, chuckling as I hug him tightly, the male kissing my forehead, "Your mother wanted nothing but the best for you,"

"This is amazing... thank you so much,"...
