Chapter 32
Like a rock in water, my heart sinks to my stomach. My eyes widening slightly upon hearing who's at the door. My breath being taken away from me as I lean against the banister, digging my nails into my palms while Dabi runs his fingers through his hair, biting his lip nervously. No one expected this. Not even my Uncle Nighteye could have foreseen this... For all we know, this could be an attack... Could we get rid of him? What can we do? What did Shigaraki want?
Regardless, my motherly instincts kick in. Dabi's older brother instincts kicking in too as his eyes instantly plant themselves on Natsuo, the white haired male tensing slightly. My mind instantly heading toward Hiro, the little redhead curled up on the couch asleep in his All Might onesie. He needed to be out of view of the villains. Sure, he and Twice got on (but I couldn't risk anything). Natsuo needed to be out of view too, he wasn't a hero let alone someone who could protect himself against villains like that. They both needed to be away. Out of view. Out of harms way. That way, Shigaraki couldn't hurt either of them.
Not only that, but we also have Shoto and my father. Two people that the League has targeted. Someone that they want to get rid of. Shoto being a threat to their plan and my father being the Number One Hero at the time wasn't what the League wanted. Luckily, dads asleep and doesn't know about this... but Shoto is here. Someone had to be with Natsuo and Hiro just in case the worst happened. Shoto seemed like the best bet then my father if need be. I'm just hoping he doesn't wake up. That wouldn't be a pretty ending...
"You two need to go upstairs with Hiro," I order, sending them a small reassuring smile as Natsuo gawks at me worried, "Don't worry, we'll be fine. Trust us, Nat,"
"What's going on?" Natsuo asks worried, not knowing about Shigaraki, not understanding the whole situation and why we're all tense and on edge, "Is everything okay?"
"Just some old business I need to take care of, don't worry, just take Hiro and go upstairs with Shoto," Dabi says, watching as Natsuo heads into the living room and slowly pulling Hiro into his arms, the little redhead whining gently and shifting before settling in his uncles arms, "We'll let you know when you can come down,"
"I'm not going, I'm staying here," Shoto says looking toward us making Dabi huff to himself and bite the inside of his cheek. A small giggle leaving my lips as Dabi glares toward Shoto, who sticks his tongue out like the annoying little brother he is toward Toya. The pairs relationship seemed to be on and off as of recent, "They'll be fine with each other, I'm staying with you,"
"Shoto, I won't ask again, go upstairs with Natsuo before I get (Y/n) to kick your ass up there! This isn't fun and games like training, this is real life," Dabi hisses glaring toward him as the door goes again, this time more violent and more urgent, "Get your ass up there now! Or you're living with the old man for the next two weeks and Fuyumi can take your room,"
"Fine. You call me if something goes wrong," Shoto says looking toward me, wincing as Dabi hits his arm and points up the stairs, the younger glaring at the older before heading upstairs with a huff.
Taking a deep breath, Dabi looks my way, sighing gently as I send him a reassuring smile before letting him open the door. Shigaraki pushing past him instantly, pushing his way into our home with a blonde girl who instantly latches herself onto my boyfriend. Twice rolls in with the lizard following him. All of them, bar the blonde girl, walks into the living room. The girl wouldn't let go of Dabi.
And he just let her grab onto him!
Biting my lip, I walk slowly into the living room, my eyes focusing on Shigaraki who glares back at me. He wasn't like I expected. I expected a rather big and burly guy. Someone to be intimidated by. Someone that All For One would build up and up and up until he was stronger than my father. But no. He wasn't anything like I pictured. He was a skinny little thing. Pale as anything. Dry skin. I would say unattractive (but I can't say much as my boyfriend is a literal walking fire accident). Twice wraps his arms around me and holds me tightly.
"Where's the little boy?" Twice asks, happiness radiating from him as he jumps up and down with me in his arms, "I missed him so much! We had so much fun!"
"He's asleep, Twice," I reply pulling away from him with a soft giggle, taking a deep breath as Shigaraki doesn't take his eyes off me, "Now what are you doi —"
"I missed you Dabi! Why did you leave?!" The blonde whines, jumping up and down with a pout, Dabi chuckling gently and pushing her off him gently making her stick her tongue out, "It's so boring with them!"
"Calm yourself down, crazy, you were fine," Dabi hums, rolling his eyes as he sits down, his eyes flitting toward my uncomfortable form. A small sigh leaving his lips as he watches me shift against the wall of the living room. Why wasn't he coming over to keep me comfortable? Why was that blonde all over him?...
Did they...
Gulping nervously, I dig my nails into my palms as I watch the girl latch onto his side, almost sitting on his lap. Shigaraki's blood red eyes focus on my form as I watch the League, or most of the members, sit on my couches. A small sigh leaving my lips as I watch Dabi clear his throat.
"What's the deal then? Why are you here?" Dabi asks, leaning against the couch with a small hum, hitting the blonde girls hand away from his chest as she tries to do something (God knows what). She seems extremely comfortable around him, "And stop staring at her, she's not a prized cow,"
"Might as well be," Shigaraki hums, his eyes gleaming gently as he watches me, "I'm assuming she's the girl,"
"If that's what you're here for, she's off limits, I told you she was a personal job," Dabi hums looking toward Shigaraki with a glare, batting away the blonde girl as she tries to gripe at his hair, "Now what are you here for?"
"About the plan," Shigaraki simply says looking toward Dabi, narrowing his eyes toward the scarred male who bristles, "I can't hold him back for long, Dabi, he's quite out of control,"
"I told you I'm not going through with it over the phone," Dabi hisses toward him narrowing his eyes, wincing as his staples are poked at by his little blonde friend but does nothing to bat her away, "I've got my family back, I'm not throwing it away for some childish revenge story,"
"Really? So you're going to throw away everything that's happened to you?" Shigaraki asks arching a brow, goosebumps trickling over my skin as his eyes loll toward me, a sickly grin on his lips, "So this girl. The daughter of All Might has suddenly got you seeing through rose tinted glasses has she? Has she got you twisted around her finger?"
"You leave her out of this," Dabi growls, glaring toward the pale male who chuckles shaking his head with a smirk, "I haven't forgotten and I'm not letting it go either, we're working something out,"
"And is that how you want it to be?" Shigaraki asks, looking back toward me as I lean against the wall: like a deer in headlights, "Or is it how your little warmer wants it? For him to live? To continue on like nothing's happened... a nasty scar she has on her shoulder... that couldn't possibly be who I think it is now? Is it?"
"I said leave her alone," Dabi growls, tensing up as Shigaraki pushes himself to his feet, the male traipsing toward me, his hand against the wall by my head, "Get away from her, this wasn't the deal and you know that,"
Disintegration. That's his quirk. Five fingers and I'm dead. One wrong move. One wrong word. My whole life could disappear. My life practically in his hands. Our eyes meet. Blood red with (e/c). Intimidation versus fear. League Boss vs Pro Hero. A rather grim, unnerving smile plays on the males lips, my insides coiling at the sight. I couldn't let myself show any fear. I couldn't let him see me break.
"If I'd have known that All Might had spawn, I would have killed you sooner," Shigaraki hums, his face uneasily close to my ear as he breathes out his words, "Such a shame All For One couldn't finish the job,"
"W — what job...?" I stutter out, looking toward him, watching as he chuckles and shakes his head with a smirk, my eyes narrowing as a boost of adrenaline overtakes my brain, "What the hell are you on about?! You can't just come into my home and think you own the place!"
"I would have thought your father would have told you," Shigaraki replies, ignoring my outburst, ignoring Dabi's behaviour as he pulls away, "About how your mother really died,"
"It was during labor," I reply, close to tears as I dig my nails harshly into my palms. I want this to be a dream. Please wake up! Please don't let this be real! It can't be real...
"Your mother was killed by All For One," He replies with a small chuckle, arching a brow as I slump against the wall, eyes trained to the floor, "A miracle really, how you survived,"
"Alright! You've had your fun! Get the fuck out!" Dabi growls, shaking the blonde off who whines, "You've come here and tormented enough! If that's what you came here for, fuck off!"
Shigaraki rolls his eyes toward Dabi, cracking his knuckles as he gestures toward Twice, the lizard and the blonde. All of which follow his command. The pale bluenette looks toward Dabi with a sly smirk.
"If you don't go through with it, I will," Shigaraki threatens, shrugging his coat on his back, "You can't quit halfway through something, I'm sure daddy dearest taught you that,"
"Well I am! I'm done!" Dabi growls, pushing at Shigaraki, trying to get him out the house as quick as possible, noticing my distress, "You're lucky I don't call the cops,"
"You wouldn't," Shigaraki simply says, a chuckle leaving his lips as he nods toward me, "Have fun dealing with that mess over there, I'm sure you have a lot of explaining to do,"
Without another word, Dabi slams the door shut. Locking it up before walking toward me, taking my hands in his. Instantly, I yank them out of his grasp and shake my head, taking a deep breath. I didn't know what to think. What could I think about? What do I say first? What do I even consider first?
Shigaraki came to rattle us. To threaten us. To make a statement that he's still here. That he's never going away any time soon. That he knows more about things than any of us do. The others must have been in case we lashed out. Although I know nought of their abilities and quirks.
Mind mind felt like a minefield.
Dabi and that horrifically girly blonde. The fact that Dabi didn't come and comfort me. To be my rock during a situation that already has me walking on eggshells. The fact that there was a plan that involved him. It seemed... important almost. Then the one that hit the nail on the head. My mother. Killed by All For One. More lies. More smoke and mirrors.
Taking a deep breath, I wring my hands together. Dabi giving me space to drink it all in. Natsuo and Shoto slowly make their way downstairs, but stop at the bottom as Dabi puts his hand up. Their eyes focusing on me as I take a shaky breath. The League didn't want to make any harm. They wanted to intimidate. To shake up... my eyes meet Dabi's ocean blue eyes. Tears welling in my eyes as I look at him.
"Who was the blonde?" I ask, my voice cutting through the silence. Dabi releases a small sigh, like he knew I'd ask that, "Tell me,"
"(Y/n), she's nothing," he replies simply, walking toward me and wrapping his arms around my waist making me tense slightly, "He tried to rattle you, come on, let's get you to sleep and talk about it in the morning,"
"Toya," I warn, pulling away to look up at him with a glare. Was he serious? He's avoiding the question! He's not even bothered, "Why would they come and say those things?"
"Babe, now is not the time," Dabi explains with a sigh, kissing my forehead, "You're shaken up... I don't want to cause another rift in our relationship when we've finished building one together,"
"Damn right I'm shaken up! I just had villains push into my home like they owned it and threatened me!" I yell toward him, sniffling as tears run down my cheeks, "I see my boyfriend being glomped by this blonde girl who I don't know! He doesn't shake her off or anything! He doesn't come to me! Then I get told that my mother was killed by my fathers biggest enemy! Shaken up is an understatement!"
"I get that... I'll explain everything I promise," Dabi explains, pulling me into his arms as I break down, my tears seeping into his shirt as I cling to him, "They weren't here for you... they were here for me and they went for you because they know that you're close to me. They're trying to shake us up,"
"But why?" I ask looking up at him, sniffling as he wipes my cheek, "Why would they come?"
"Because we had a plan," Dabi replies taking a deep breath, gulping as I sigh gently, "I promise I'll explain,"
"You better, and I want the truth. No more smoke and mirrors,"...
