Chapter 31

Humming softly to myself, I sit in the study of my home, looking over the exam papers on my table. My brain close to bleeding through my ears at the sheer amount of papers that I had to go through and mark and grade. Then, to add salt into the wound, I have to input the percentages and grades into a big spreadsheet for Aizawa to look through. Also, to top it off, I need to make notes should anyone need extra tutoring or any boosters. What a great way to spend my Tuesday afternoon... Twenty exam papers, plus the one from the General Studies that Aizawa is planning to enroll. Each and every exam paper having around twenty to thirty questions.

I swear Aizawa wanted to make me suffer!

Well, in all honesty, Aizawa and I did a coin toss to decide who would mark the exam papers. Unfortunately, I lost. Choosing tails over heads didn't work out in my favour. So here I was, being forced to work and actually grade papers while my son and boyfriend are downstairs with Shoto and Natsuo watching tv with one another. My father asleep in his bedroom. Fuyumi staying at home this evening to spend some time with her father. While everyone was relaxing and having fun, I had to work! The audacity!

A small sigh leaves my lips as I open up Iida's paper, already knowing how detailed and how methodical his working out will be. Thank god it's a maths paper! They're really easy to mark! My eyes flicking back and forth between the mark scheme and the paper, ticking every step he got correct and then recording the mark of the question. An easy paper, as usual, to mark. A smile on my lips as I record the overall mark, grade and percentage. Grabbing a sticky note to have it ready for when I need to record the topics Iida would have to refresh.

As time passes, I manage to go through Kaminari's, Bakugo's, Mineta's, Uraraka's and Shoto's papers. A small hum leaving my lips as a song gets stuck in my head, my head swaying a bit as I mumble the words. My pen writing out the corrections for question seventeen in Ashido's paper while I mumble. A small smile on my lips as I turn the paper, doing a little mental cheer for the pinkette as I notice she's gotten a rather difficult question right. The girl works so hard! It's about time it starts to pay off. Without a second thought, I give her a quick praise with a smiley face before closing the paper and giving her a grade.

Before I could grab Ojiro's paper, I notice a mop of half - red and half - white hair at the doorway. The person peeking into the room almost shyly. Arching a brow, I place my pen down and turn around in the chair, looking toward the youngest Todoroki sibling who sends me a sheepish smile. The male's eyes trailing toward the pile of unmarked and marked papers, biting his lip in anticipation as I cross my arms over my chest and spin the chair toward him.

"May I help you?" I ask, sending Shoto a smile making him smile back, making eye contact briefly with me before looking back toward the stack of papers, "Shoto?"

"Have you marked mine yet?" He asks tilting his head, wrapping his hand around the doorway as he leans against it, smiling as I nod gently, "Can I see what I got?"

"No, you'll get it in class next week," I reply, shaking my head as I look toward the amount of papers I have yet to mark, trying to calculate how much time it'll take me, "It's not fair on the others if you get to see what you got and no one else does,"

"So? Who's gonna know?" Shoto says shrugging, pouting toward me as I shake my head with a giggle, the male turning on his heel to walk off, "You're so mean to me, (Y/n),"

"I didn't have to let you live with me, I could have let you stayed with your dad," I call out toward the hallway, chuckling to myself as I notice Shoto flipping me off through the mirror, "Love you too, Sho!"

With peace back in my court, I turn to Ojiro's paper and begin marking it with a small hum. A small smile on my lips as I tick every so often and write down corrections if need be. Beside me, my laptop showcases the spreadsheet full of everyone's grades for the whole year. Like they should, or what teachers expect, all the grades are creeping up or they're consistent. No one is going down. No one is losing a grade. The class is doing great. Aizawa and I doing our jobs as best as we can.

Suddenly, a pair of arms wrap around my waist making me giggle gently as a chin is rested on my shoulder. A small hum leaves my lips as I look toward my boyfriend, my eyes widening slightly at the fiery red hair on his head. It wasn't black anymore! What was going on? Was he going to dye his hair again? I thought he wanted black hair? The blue eyed male chuckles gently and kisses my nose, smirking at my awestruck face.

"Like what you see?" He asks with a grin, chuckling as I turn my chair toward him, extending my hand to run my fingers through his hair, "Like it?"

"You've gone back to your normal hair colour..." I state awestruck, giggling as he wraps his arms around my waist, kissing my cheek as he rests his head on my shoulder, my arms wrapping around his midsection, "It looks great,"

"Oh, really? Thank you baby," Dabi hums, a small smirk on his lips, his arm tightening around me as his other arm loosens. The sound of paper rustling making my eyes widen slightly and begin to wriggle in his arms. The realisation dawning on me as Shoto leans against the doorway with a small, innocent yet mischievous, grin. Dabi was trying to find his score!!

That traitor!

"Toya! He's not allowed to see his score!" I whine, wiggling in his arms as he flicks through the marked papers, squealing with laughter as he blows a raspberry into the junction of my neck and shoulder, "Natsuo! Help me!"

"No! Natsuo! Don't!" Dabi yells back with a chuckle, throwing me over his shoulder making me squeal, my arms hitting his back as he hums gently, "Jesus! How smart are these kids?! I can't even tell the time!"

"That's because you're a stinky homeless man," Shoto says with a grin, whining as Dabi halts his actions and turns toward him, "It's literally right there! Get it out! I wanna know what I got!"

"For that comment, no," Dabi replies with a chuckle, setting me back on my feet making me giggle as I look toward a deflated Shoto, "If you're worried about failing, I'm sure you didn't and you're what? Third in the whole class academically anyway?"

"Fifth," I correct softly, leaning against Dabi as I play with his locks, smiling to myself with a little giggle, "He's close to beating Midoriya though, I think he's bumped himself up to fourth... I hate that they rank them though..."

"What are you all bickering about?" Natsuo asks leaning against the doorway, ruffling Shoto's hair as Shoto blows a raspberry toward him, "Shoto being a stress pot again?"

"He's always stressing," Dabi hums arching a brow toward Natsuo who nods with a small smile, "Golden child over there,"

"Don't be mean," I scold, kissing my boyfriends cheek with a small smile, giggling as he squeezes my hips and snuggles his head into the crook of my neck, "Hiro asleep?"

"Yeah, he's curled up on the couch," Natsuo replies with a small smile, playfully gagging as Dabi presses a kiss to my cheek, "Get that sappy shit away from me,"

"Just because I have a girlfriend and you don't," Dabi teases with a grin, laughing as Natsuo grabs the pillow from my chair and hits him with it. The male using me as a human shield, a small squeal leaving my lips as the pillow hits me, giggles erupting from my lips.

Before anyone could get another word in, the door sounds. Each of us stop confused, looking toward each other to try and figure out who it could be. Enji isn't allowed over still, Dabi's rules. Fuyumi isn't coming over this evening as she's sorting out dinner for Enji and cleaning the house. It couldn't be any of the U.A. students as curfew has been passed. Aizawa is either asleep or on patrol. He wouldn't bother anyone anyway, if anything he'd call or text me.

So who was it?...

Clearing his throat, Dabi pulls away and heads downstairs with me in tow. Shoto and Natsuo following behind us, curious to see who's at our door so late at night. I wasn't expecting anyone. No one was...

As Dabi heads to the door, he grabs the keys slowly before looking through the peephole. His eyes were as wide as saucers as he pulls away and looks toward us. Goosebumps prickle my skin at my boyfriends shocked expression. Who could it be?! Enji wouldn't come over, he's promised to abide by Toya's rules... Shoto pushes past and checks the peephole too before pulling away and taking a few steps back. A small hitched sigh leaving his lips.

"Who is it?" I ask worried, looking toward my son through the living room. Fast asleep. The boy adorably curled up on the couch with his All Might blanket wrapped around him while he's clad in his All Might onesie. His red hair poking through the hoodie. Would he be in danger? Please tell me it's no one dangerous...

"It's Shigaraki,"...
