Chapter 22
Humming gently to myself, I hold Hiro's hand as we walk down the street. Smiling happily toward the little five year old who skips by my side, waving his All Might figurine in the air to make it fly with a small giggle. His flaming red hair bouncing with every step that he took. A huge grin on his lips, teeth gleaming in the sunlight. His bright blue eyes sparkling with glee as he heads down the street with me, heading toward our destination. Holding my hand in his tiny one, keeping himself close to me as we weave through civilians, people on their phones and bouncy children alike, trying to avoid any questions as much as we can.
Clearly, ever since word got out about me being All Might's daughter, countless newspapers and TV shows and magazines have been constantly harassing me for questions about my mother, my childhood and about my father. My private social media account has had countless follow requests (which I all politely declined) and received a lot of hate comments telling me that I'm a fake because All Might never 'had a girlfriend'. Well, I'm so sorry that my father preferred to keep his love life out of the media and the paparazzi.
I've even had people try to steal Hiro off me to get my attention! Who does that?!
Anyway, for the first time, for what felt like ages, Hiro and I were heading for U.A. High School. Finally managing to convince my father that my boyfriend isn't going to steal me off the street and that my boyfriend should come home so he can actually be with his family and live the life that he actually deserves. Finally managing to go to U.A. to see my students who must have been so worried about Hiro, and maybe me. To see how they've grown, how they've been...
To see Shoto...
Throughout all this, throughout all the chaos and the madness, poor Shoto has been sitting here worried sick about Hiro and I. Guilt probably eating away at him as quick as ever for being so close to me yet so far from saving me. You could see the heartbreak on his face before I even blacked out. I needed to make sure he was okay. I wanted to see him. Hiro was desperate to cuddle with his favourite uncle. After all, Uncle Shoto gives out the best hugs and kisses in the world!
A smile plays on my face as I see Mr Aizawa waiting outside the gates with a small light haired girl with crimson red eyes. Bandages wrapped around her tiny little porcelain arms, the girl holding onto Aizawa's hand tightly as she looks around like a deer in headlights. A white dress shirt with a frilled collar and a red pinafore resting on her figure as she hides her face in the older mans thigh. She was so adorable! Did he have a daughter too? Where did she come from?
"Mr Zawa! Mr Zawa!" Hiro squeals, rushing to the male who immediately welcomes him in his arms and holds him close with a small chuckle, ruffling his hair as he smiles toward the toddler, "We're back!"
"I see, I missed my sleeping bag buddy," he says with a chuckle, setting Hiro down on his feet and nodding my way, giving me a side hug as I giggle, leaning into him, "You two are well, I hope? All Might hasn't been too overbearing for you, has he?"
"I'm just grateful that my dad is okay and that I'm slowly getting my family back," I reply with a smile, running my fingers through Hiro's hair as I look toward the young girl who stands nervously by Aizawa's side, "And who's this little angel? I didn't know you had a little girl, Aizawa, you should have said,"
"This is Eri, she's in my care after being rescued from a Yakuza," Aizawa explains looking toward Eri who meekly waves my way, hiding her face in his leg as she clutches tightly at his pants, her knees shaking gently, "Eri, this is Miss (Y/n), she's my assistant and this is her son Hiro,"
"Hi..." Eri says softly, looking toward us with a faint, almost invisible, smile. The girl clinging onto the older teacher with some tight grip, looking toward Hiro nervously.
"Hi," Hiro replies waving toward her before slowly walking her way, sending her a friendly smile, "I like your horn,"
"R — really?" She asks softly looking at him with wide eyes, her irises glittering with tears as she stares at him, holding her hands to her chest as she watched him, "You like it?"
"Yeah! It's really cool!" Hiro says with a huge grin, giggling as Eri's eyes light up happily and a huge smile plays on her lips, my heart melting at the sight, "I like your hair too, it's really pretty,"
"Thank you," Eri says softly with a giggle, gently poking his arm before feeling more comfortable and pulling him into a hug which the boy happily returns with a giggle, "I like your hugs, you're really warm,"
"I was hoping in the future that you could bring Hiro to school so Eri has someone around her age to play with," Aizawa says, leading us along campus with a small smile, Eri and Hiro holding hands with each other to keep each other safe the pair keeping in front of us, "If that's alright with you? Eri seems comfortable with him already,"
"He must have his fathers charm," I hum with a giggle, gushing at how adorable the pair were, Hiro grabbing flowers from the grass to give to the girl, "It should be fine, Hiro seems to like her too... anyway... how's... how's Shoto?"
"He's had a rollercoaster of a term," he explains sighing gently, burying his hands in his pockets as he takes a deep breath, "Losing you hit him hard. He lost concentration and made mistakes that I know he wouldn't make... he failed his provisional licence exam and then had to watch his father fight something that nearly killed him... he's had a rough time so I'm hoping that you being back will pick him up a bit,"
"Me too... I wish I could come earlier but dad was very paranoid," I explain rubbing the back of my neck with a small sigh, "What about the others? Are they all okay?"
"Of course, they're a great class, you know that," Aizawa says with a chuckle, watching as Hiro and Eri jump over the cracks in the pavement, "They'll all be glad you're both okay, they missed you a lot. Bakugo's even missed you,"
"Yeah, well, him and I would have morning spar sessions and if he got too emotional or irritated I'd remove him from the situation so he could calm himself down and let off some steam," I explain with a smile, I held a very different relationship with each of my students, I helped them all in different ways to help them feel more comfortable with themselves and their personalities, "I've missed them all so much too, I can't wait to get back into the swing of things,"
Aizawa nods, nodding toward the building as we arrive at the Class 1A dorm building. Hiro's eyes sparkling with joy as he jumps up the stairs, one at a time, giggling with excitement at the thought of seeing his Uncle Shoto for the first time in ages. Smiling gently, I walk up the stairs and gently open the door, holding Hiro's hand as we enter, the deja vu of being here when I was younger settling in as I slip my shoes off. Walking into the common area of the dorms, seeing the Bakusquad and some parts of the Dekusquad sitting on the couches talking. Smiling, I clear my throat crossing my arms over my chest catching their attention.
And their faces lit up like a Christmas tree.
"Oh my god! Miss (Y/n)!" Mina squeals, racing toward me and wrapping her arms around me, burying her face in my shoulder as I hug her back with a soft giggle, wiping her happy tears as Kaminari, Kirishima, Midoriya, Jiro and Uraraka join the hug. The teens squeezing me tightly in their arms.
"Thank god you're okay!" Kirishima says, the teens pulling away to give Hiro cuddles, the toddler adoring and loving the attention, "We were all so worried! I'm glad you're safe!"
"Thank you Kirishima," I say, patting his shoulder with a smile before noticing Iida kneeling before me with his head on the floor, "Iida?"
"Miss (Y/n)! I am incredibly sorry and I give you the most humble of apologies for not protecting your son better!" Iida says, looking to the floor, adamant that he was in the wrong making my heart squeeze, "I should have done better!"
"Iida, sweetie, get up," I hum softly, gently patting his head before looking up at him as he stands to his feet, gently wiping the tears from his eyes, "I don't blame you, you thought that was me because it was. Sweetie, you aren't in the wrong and you protected him well enough... please don't blame yourself for him being a part of it, we're okay and that's what matters,"
"I — I see," he says rubbing the back of his neck with a smile, "Thank you Miss (Y/n),"
"Of course, is Shoto in his dorm room?" I ask looking toward Midoriya, giggling as he twirls Hiro in the air and throw him up before catching him, "Midoriya?"
"Oh! Yeah! He's in his room," Midoriya says with a smile and ruffles Hiro's hair before sitting back down on the couch.
Nodding softly, I hold my hand out to Hiro who gladly takes it. The boy waving a quick goodbye to Eri before she teeters to Midoriya to show him all the flowers Hiro got her. Taking a deep breath, Hiro and I walk to the elevator and I press the correct floor, Aizawa already informing me on the whereabouts of his dorm. The redhead happily wiggling with excitement at the thought of seeing his uncle Shoto. I would be lying if I didn't say I was excited too!
As the elevator dings open, we head down the corridor until I find Shoto's name on the placard outside a door. Taking a deep breath, I gently knock on the door, sending Hiro a sweet smile before looking toward the door as the lock is jiggled. As the door opens, Hiro's smile turns into a huge grin, jumping up and down as he sees him and tackles the teenager into a big hug catching him off guard and making him fall to the ground.
"Uncle Sho! Uncle Sho!" Hiro squeals, snuggling into his chest and giggles as Shoto wraps his arms around him tightly and buries his face into his red locks, taking deep breaths, "Hi!"
"Oh thank god..." he hums, holding onto Hiro tightly, sitting up as he sniffles, tears glistening in his heterochromic eyes as he looks at Hiro with a smile, "Thank god..."
"You okay, Sho?" I ask, kneeling down by him before making a small sound of surprise as he wraps an arm around me and pulls me tight to him, burying his face in my chest as he sobs quietly, holding Hiro and I as close to him as possible as if we'd disappear, making me smile and kiss his mop of red and white hair, "We're okay, Shoto, we're here and we're never going anywhere,"
"Thank god," Shoto murmurs sniffling as he pulls away and looks up at me, smiling gently as he kisses my cheek, "God... I missed you... when you were gone I —"
"Hey, it's okay, that's in the past," I say poking his nose gently with a smile, "We're safe and sound and that's what matters,"
"Uncle Sho! I got my quirk! I got my quirk!" Hiro squeals, jumping up and down with excitement as soon as Shoto lets him free, the toddler giggling as Shoto's eyes light up happily toward his nephew, "Wanna see?"
"Of course," Shoto says smiling as the redhead takes a deep breath, focusing on his hand and trying to remember what Dabi had taught him, his hand beginning to be encased by light blue flames and his hair beginning to slip into fire too, the boy giggling at Shoto's eyes widening, "It's fire..."
"They're like your older brothers," I explain with a smile, helping Hiro extinguish them to avoid burning down my little brothers dorm, "Hiro's flames are cold though, they aren't hot,"
"Yeah! It's like daddy's! And Papa All Might is gonna get daddy back!" Hiro squeals jumping up and down for joy making Shoto freeze and stare at me. Trust a four year old to keep secrets, note the sarcasm.
"What does he mean?" Shoto asks looking my way, my whole body wracking with nerves as I bite my lip and fiddle with the hem of my shirt, "Onee - san... what does he mean?"
"Toya's alive, Shoto," I reply taking a deep breath as I look toward the teenager who looks like he's about to collapse, going a ghostly white as he stares at me, "The villain that captured us... was Toya... my father is trying to get him back home so we can be a family again..."
"I — I don't... I — I... A — Are you serious?" He asks, staring at me with wide eyes as I nod gently, sending him a friendly smile, watching as he looks down at his lap incredulously, "I — I don't believe it... he's alive? After all these years?"
"Yeah," I reply giggling as Shoto smiles widely, pulling me into another tight squeeze, "Happy?"
"Yeah... I just... wow... I..." Shoto stutters awestruck as he runs his fingers through his hair and shakes his head, "As if..."
After spending an hour with Shoto, catching up with him and making sure he's okay, Hiro and I head back home. The redhead skipping happily down the street after I bought him a bag of gummy bears, the boy greedily gnawing on the gelatine treats with some hunger while I quickly note down what I'll make for dinner. My stomach growling rather hungrily at me to feed it or else...
Smiling softly, I open the door and let Hiro scurry into the living room. Squealing incoherently at something while I put my keys in the key bowl and slip my shoes off and place them on the rack. My whole body suddenly feeling warm as a pair of arms wrap around my waist, pulling me close to their chest.
Scarred arms...
"Hey baby girl, you miss me?" I hear him whisper into my ear making my breath hitch as I relax into his arms, staring at the wall close to tears as I rest my head on his shoulder.
"What are you doing here?" I ask incredulously as I turn in his arms and squeal with happiness as he engulfs me in a huge hug, sharing a sweet kiss as we embrace one another, "I don't understand,"
"Your dad asked Keigo where I lived," he begins, leading me to the living room where my father is sat smiling my way as Dabi sits down with me beside him, "He told me that he knew who I was, what I did and that he was willing to give me a second chance to make this right. And I am. I'm staying under house arrest for a good month or so because of villain work but that's about it. Your fathers also looking at ways to help me out with my night terrors and dealing with past trauma,"
"You did all this..." I ask looking toward my father who smiles and nods warmly, chuckling as I hold onto him tightly, "Thank you so much!"
"You're my little girl, I want you to be happy," he says smiling and looks toward Dabi who smiles back, "Now you, you better look after her properly. She's my princess and I ain't having you hurt her like that again. Do I make myself clear?"
"Yes sir, of course, I wouldn't dream of hurting her, I love her so much,"...
"And I love you too,"...
