Chapter 20

Taking a deep breath, my heart is in my throat as there's a knock on the door. Already knowing that it's Keigo, bright and ready to take me back home. Knowing that my time with my boyfriend and the father of my child is slowly diminishing. My son knew what was happening, but he was trying to remain strong for the both of us. Soaking up each and every second with his father until he has to go. Hiro hadn't let go of Dabi since he woke up, the boy refusing to leave without him. The little red head burying his face into his fathers shoulder, wrapping his arms around his neck and holding onto him tightly.

Keigo grins my way, winking toward me as I scrape my hair back into a messy ponytail while I roll my eyes his way. Making sure that we had everything, that Hiro had everything that he needed as well as all those birthday gifts that Dabi had got him. Already knowing that Keigo was going to sneak that into my home after dropping me off so it didn't rouse any suspicion. Closing up the bag with a small hum, running my hand through my hair as I smile softly toward Dabi and Hiro. Hiro gently tracing each line of his scars with a small hum.

"Do you have to stay, daddy? I don't want you to go... Mama's been so happy," Hiro speaks to him softly, looking up at his father with those cute little puppy eyes to try and swerve his judgement, "Pretty please..."

"Unfortunately, buddy, I can't... I'm sorry," he says taking a deep breath as he buries his nose into his sons head of hair and kisses his head softly, rubbing his back as Hiro pouts, "You be good for your mom, okay? Don't let your papa Enji get away with anything,"

"I'm always good for mama," Hiro says with a smile, kissing his cheek before finally letting Dabi set him down on his feet, toddling to Hawk with a small smile and giggles when the, now, Number Two Hero sends some feathers to tickle him.

Dabi hums gently, wrapping his arms around my waist, kissing my nose gently as I wrap my arms around his neck. My eyes glossing over gently as I slide my fingers through his hair with a soft smile. It didn't seem real. Like it was some sort of dream. Dabi gently captures my lips in a soft kiss, pulling away slowly as he smiles.

"Damn! You got busy last night!" Keigo gawks, staring at mine and Dabi's neck, chuckling to himself as Dabi glares his way for ruining the moment, "How big is that hickey? Ooh! Can I be godfather of your baby?"

"Do you like your wings?" Dabi threatens, his eyes burning into the winged male making him rub the back of his neck with a small nervous chuckle, "You keep your hands off her when she gets back, otherwise there'll be a new dish called Fried Keigo,"

"Sorry, man, but Jesus that hickeys big," Hawks says pointing toward my collarbone making me blush softly, pulling my t shirt up to cover it, "You're not messing about, are you? Trying to pop another out?"

"Just marking what's mine," Dabi replies rolling his eyes as he kisses my forehead softly with a smile, "And no, and even if she was there's no way you're being the godparent of my child,"

"Damn..." Keigo whines, pouting my way before tilting his head, "Wait who is Hiro's godparents?"

"Shoto and Fuyumi," I reply with a soft smile, leaning into Dabi's arms, trying to soak up as much time with him as I can, "Natsuo is also a godparent, I didn't think it was fair to leave him out of the equation,"

"You gonna be okay?" Dabi asks, changing the subject back to me leaving, rubbing my back gently as I twirl some of his black locks in my fingers, "I don't want you to get hurt..."

"I've dealt with your father more times than I can count, babe, I'll be fine," I reply with a soft smile, kissing his cheek, gently cupping his face in my hands and rubbing his skin softly, "I'll miss you... but this was a gift, and I'd love for you to kidnap me again whenever you want,"

"You're asking for it," Dabi says chuckling and pulls Hiro close for one final squeeze, kissing his forehead and kissing me gently again before taking a deep breath and nodding, "Alright... you better go before I change my mind and keep you here,"

Smiling softly, I walk over to Keigo who picks me up bridle style, Hiro sitting happily in my arms. His feathers holding the bag. Dabi gives Keigo a threatening look as he stands on the balcony, gently giving me and Hiro a soft smile before waving as Keigo flies off. The wind running through our hair, as Keigo soars into the clouds. Luckily it was a nice sunny day, no rain, a small squeal leaving Hiro's lips as he tries to reach and feels the clouds. Giggling when Keigo does little loops, holding onto us tightly. The hero chuckling when I shriek, my heart hammering in my chest.

I was certainly not an adrenaline junkie by all means....

The ride home was certainly shorter than I had imagined, Keigo making the bag go through one of the back windows with his feathers while setting a shaky me down to my feet. My legs feeling like jelly as I hold onto a lamppost for leverage. Hiro giggles and jumps up, pumped up, excited for what's going to happen next. Happy to see his grandpa after being away from him for so long. My legs shake as I try to maintain my balance, Keigo chuckling and holding my hands gently to help me slowly regain the feeling in my legs making me laugh nervously.

"I am never doing that again," I say, shaking my head as Hiro giggles, running my fingers through my hair as I take a deep breath, "How the bell can you do that?"

"(Y/n)..." I hear a small voice behind me, taking a deep breath as I turn around and smile softly toward the two middle siblings of the Todoroki family

"Uncle Natsuo! Uncle Natsuo!" Hiro squeals, racing toward the young male, giggling as he scoops him up and holds him close, kissing his cheek, both of them trying to hold back tears as I slowly walk over to them, almost being tackled by Fuyumi

"Thank god you're okay!" Fuyumi cries, holding me tightly against her, her hand cradling my head as I lean into her embrace, smiling gently, "We were so worried when we got the news! Thank god you're okay! Thank god you're okay!"

"Are you both okay? You're not hurt are you?" Natsuo asks worried, looking over Hiro gently before casting his eyes to me, "God, you scared us..."

"We're okay, aren't we Hiro?" I ask with a soft smile, kissing Natsuo's cheek gently as he wraps his other arms around me and kissing my temple, resting his head against mine, "You big softie, Nat, we're okay, I promise,"

"Well... we haven't seen dad so worried in all his life..." Fuyumi admits rubbing the back of her neck with a soft sigh, rubbing Hiro's back, "The news of you being All Might's daughter really freaked him out... he'll be happy to know you're both safe and sound,"

"Your dads actually moved into your house," Natsuo adds, holding me close against him as Hiro grins, "Shoto's been very distant too... we've all told mom that you and Hiro have been ill so she doesn't worry,"

"How is he? Do you know?" I ask worried, looking toward them, Natsuo rubbing my back with a soft smile.

"Fuyumi's been making sure he's eating, he's alright, just worried about you," Natsuo explains, handing Hiro to me as I nod softly taking an deep breath, "There's also a large pile of present for the little man, your class bought him presents too,"

"Oh wow..." I say incredulously, knowing that I'll have to go back to U.A. to let them all know I'm okay, "Come on baby, let's go see your grandfather, I'll see you two around,"

After giving them both one more tight squeeze, I smile softly toward Keigo, walking toward my front door and gently pushing it open. Looking around my hallway, not really surprised to see anything out of place. Except there's another set of keys in the bowl by the door, an extra couple of coats and pairs of shoes by the coat and shoe rack and some pictures from my childhood. My father obviously trying to bring what he had in his little apartment to here to make himself as calm as possible.

Always trying to smile through the pain, my father was often mistaken for being the most positive guy in the world. Fighting with a smile. Dealing with villains with a smile. No one really saw the pain like I did. I knew whenever my father was hurting. His smile seemed forced then, and not a lot of people can tell when he's forcing it since he's smiling all the time. This must be killing him. Not knowing if I was okay.

I just prayed that he was okay too...

Slipping my shoes off, I head further into the house, opening the door to the living room to find my father fast asleep on the couch. He was wearing his suit for U.A., possibly coming home last night and just slumping on the couch without another thought. A small smile on my lips as I kneel down by his side, moving hair out of his almost skeletal face. Knowing how hard it must be to maintain his stronger, muscular form due to his wound.

Hiro looks toward me with a shy grin, covering his mouth to keep himself quiet as I cover him with a blanket, knowing its best for him to wake up on his own. However with a toddler, I doubt that'll be achieved. Kissing his forehead gently, making sure he's comfortable. Hiro gently climbing onto the other couch and smiles with a quiet giggle.

"Let's leave him be," I whisper gently, running my fingers through my hair as I grab all the clothes that need to be washed from the bag and turn the washing machine on, pushing the dirty clothes into the machine and turning it on, "Shall we order takeout, babe?"

"Yeah!" Hiro squeals loudly before squeaking and covering her mouth with a soft giggle as he sees All Might stirring, "Oops..."

"(Y/n)... Hiro..." I hear my father murmur, still half asleep as he sits up, looking around the room, his eyes widening significantly as they land on us, "Oh my god..."

"Papa!" Hiro squeals and rushes into his arms, my fathers arms tightening around him and holding him close, kissing his forehead as he rocks gently, "Are you okay?"

"I've never been better, little one," he hums smiling toward his grandson before pushing himself to his feet, still being significantly tall in his weaker form, his arms wrapping around me as I hold onto him, "Thank god, I was going mad with you not being here,"

"I missed you so much," I hum, kissing my fathers bony cheek with a smile and snuggling into him, holding onto him tightly.

"Where were they?" All Might asks Hawks, the number two hero staying the hallway sending a smile toward us, letting us have our moment, "Was the villain apprehended?"

"Villain was nowhere to be seen when I found them, they were in an apartment," Hawks explains, following our stretched story to cover up Dabi, knowing that if my father knew about Dabi he would lose his cool and I didn't need that, "I'll do surveillance's but I'm afraid it was as if it was a kidnap and run situation,"

"Well... I can't have everything, can I? Having you home is all I can ask for," All Might hums kissing my forehead, refusing to let us go, Hiro giggling as he plays with his blonde fringe parts, "I'm just glad you're back home, safe and sound,"

Smiling gently, I nod toward my father, kissing his cheek. Pulling away from the hug to show Hawks out, the hero sending me a reassuring smile as I lean against the doorway.

"Can you just... keep an eye on him... for me?" I ask hopefully, biting my lip nervously as I look at him, giggling as he pokes my nose softly, "Please, Keigo,"

"Of course, darling," Keigo hums, patting my shoulder with a grin, poking the hickey making me huff, rolling my eyes, "I know it's a long shot but... why don't you tell him? You never know, your dad might welcome him in,"

"I don't want to risk that yet... I don't want to overwhelm him," I reply rubbing the back of my neck, "Things like this take time, unfortunately,"

"Look, do you love him?" Keigo asks, beating around the bush like he never usually does, crossing his arms, "Be honest, do you love him?"

"Yeah... yeah I do," I reply with a small smile, sighing gently as I rest my head on the doorway, "Who would have thought this would be so complicated?..."

"You'll get there," Keigo reassures me, rubbing my arm, winking cheekily my way making me giggle half heartedly, "You take care, gorgeous,"

Rolling my eyes, I watch as Keigo shoots back into the air, shutting the door as he goes. Turning back to my father and son, smiling as they're getting comfy on the couch, the tv already on and playing some cartoons while Hiro begins to dive into his huge pile of presents in the corner. Each student had bought him a present. Even Aizawa and Present Mic. A small smile on my lips as I slip next to my father, resting my head on his shoulder, snuggling into him.

Family came first. Always had and always will... I had to think of my son. My son came first.

Like I told Dabi at the beginning, Hiro didn't deserve to grow up in an environment like that. Living under the radar. Unable to see the uncles and aunt that he's bonded with and known for four years. Unable to see his two grandparents. It wasn't healthy. Dabi knew that too. He knew what it was like when a parent controls how you live, what you can do and what you can't do, where you can and can't go and who you can and can't talk to...

And he couldn't do that to Hiro...

As much as Dabi needed me, my father needed me more. It was quite bittersweet, already knowing that I would have to make the decision between the two men that mean the world to me... Hopefully, I made the right choice in coming back to my father. Maybe, I never know, my father will be understanding about Dabi and we could finally be a family. But I knew right now...

This is where I needed to be...
