Chapter One
Love is but a feeling between one and another, it does not matter who you fall for nor why but what you see in that person-- Person Unknown
Barry's POV
I'm in love with Leonard Snart. I'm not afraid to admit it. What I was afraid of was the simple fact that I fell in love with a criminal who didn't even love me back. Every chance we met he tried to kill me not to mention he was a thief and he kidnapped my best friend Cisco just to get what he wanted.
But one thing I knew about Start now was that he'd do anything for the ones he loved. He did whatever it took to save his sister, Lisa and even after she was safe he killed his father. Right in front of me. He told me that he only did it because he deserved it but I saw right through that lie. There was something else, some other reason behind why he murdered his father.
And I wanted to find out.
At the moment I was up in my lab at CCPD working on a case that was connected to another case in Star City. Oliver wanted me to follow up with him about it for a reason I totally understood. I rolled over to my computer and started searching the database for matches in the prints Joe had brought to me. While I was waiting on a hit, I stood up and walked over to the table where I had set up all of the evidence from the crime scene.
There was a gavel, which was used as the murder weapon, some gun casings, and a picture of a partial bloody shoe print. It was very little to work with which was why I was running the print first. See what I turned up with.
The whole time I felt like someone was watching me but it might be that since I got my speed it also enhanced some of my senses. So my senses may be on overload right now. I shook it off and sat back in my chair staring at a picture of my dad. He had just gotten out of Iron Hights for a crime he didn't commit.
But as soon as he got out he wanted to leave. He thought that by being in my life would change how I live or act or even do my job. He thought that he was interfering with my life. I tried to get him to stay but he had already made up his mind.
I didn't think it was fair but I respected his decision. If I was in his position I would probably have done the same thing. And I know it must've been hard for him to leave.
The computer beeped and I looked at the screen. The print had gotten a hit and I grinned. The print matches a Mitchell Evans. He had a history of crime. He had pretty much done everything before the particle accelerator exploded. And now that he's a metahuman he still thinks he can do whatever he wants and not get caught. Think again Evans.
I printed the sheet out, grabbed it and headed out of my lab to give it to Captain Singe. I found him talking to Joe. "Captain Singe!"
He turned around and raised an eyebrow. "What is it Allen? Did you find something?"
I nodded. "Yeah. The metahuman is Mitchell Evans. Not a great past either."
I held the paper out for Singe to take and he took it from me, his eyes skimming over it. He gave a nod and turned to Joe saying,
"West I want you to gather the task force and be ready to leave in thirty minutes."
"Great job Barry." Joe said smiling.
I smile back. "Just be careful."

Back up in my lab I went back to thinking about my dad but after I heard a few knocks on the sunroof I stood up and went over to it, looking up. There was no one there but I know what I heard.
Sighing I went back to my chair and sat down, pulling my phone out and dialing Oliver's number. He picked up on the first ring.
"Hey Barry. Did you find anything?"
"Yeah. His name is Mitchell Evans. Do you know him?"
There was a few seconds of silence on the other line before Oliver answered. "Yes. He has a bit of a reputation here in Star City."
I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Here too. Except now he's a metahuman. Must've been here the night the particle accelerator exploded."
Oliver cleared his throat. "Yeah okay. Well do you think you'll be needing any help?"
I bit my lip and shook my head slightly even though he couldn't see me. "I'm not sure. He hasn't killed anyone else yet but I wouldn't relax just yet."
"Okay. I'm coming down there, okay?" Oliver says.
"Alright. I'll see you when you get here." I say hanging up.
Sighing, I rubbed my eyes and leaned back in my chair closing my eyes. I was really tired. It was now 10pm and we had been working all day. Half asleep I curled up in the chair and decided to take a short nap.
Hearing a loud bang I jerked up in my seat, fumbling with my phone and rubbing my face. Blinking rapidly U stood up and looked around confused. I heard another bang and realized it was coming from downstairs. Then I heard yelling and more gunshots followed. I frowned and speeded towards the stairs.
I walked down the stairwell and saw Mitchell Evans wreaking the precinct. Laughing he spun around in a circle and yelled,
"I'm in control here! And every single one of you is going to do what I want."
I glanced around looking for Joe. I spotted him hiding behind his desk with his gun out. He looked at me and made a motion for me to run. I gave a single nod but before I could move Evans was there holding me by the back of the neck. There was no way I could speed off and return as the Flash without anyone finding out.
"Well lookie here. Aren't you a hottie." Evans said. I took a deep breath, shuddering when he raised a hand to my face and trailed a hand down the side of my face. "What's your name?"
I stared straight ahead and didn't answer. I looked at Joe and Captain Singe who stared back at me with concern.
The grip on my neck tightened and I grimaced. "I asked you a question. What. Is your name?"
"B-Barry. Allen."
"Barry...it suits you babe." Evans moved his hand from the back of my neck to my arm and pulled me closer. He tried to kiss me and I turned my head away. He chuckled and brought his mouth close to my ear. "I like you. You're defiant and I admire that."
"Let me go." I say quietly.
Evans smirked. "Oh you're not going anywhere."
A sudden rush of air filled the room and Wally appeared dressed in his suit and he said, "I beg to disagree. Let him go. Now."
Evans smirked and glanced at me before shrugging. "Sure." Within seconds I was being flung across the precinct. Unable to use my abilities I crashed into the wall, smacking my head on the floor. I groaned my head starting to hurt.
"Barry!" Joe yelled. He rushed over to my side and helped me to my feet. I was in serious pain and my vision began to cloud over. "Barry?"
"Joe, I don't--" I collapsed to the floor and passed out.
