Four

April 31st~

As the weeks passed Daniel and Jessica had started getting closer and closer. If he was having problems he'd talk to her and she'd do the same with him. He knew she had feelings she wasn't going admit to and she knew the same about him. She still hadn't gotten out of him what the issue of his family was.

They were laying on a blanket on the ground facing each other on their sides.

"Its been a tiring day for this old woman."She said as her eyes involuntarily closed.

"Could I ask you something?"

"Of course."

"Why would you give up all those years of college to do this?"

"My husband was a dedicated farmer. I wanted to carry on his legacy in a way." She said, not opening her eyes.

"I know if I were an educated man I'd be making money like that."

"It's not about the money it's about enjoying what you do."

"I lost my passion for it when Sam died. He's the one who had pushed me to go for it." Her lip trembled as she looked up at him.

"It was just never the same for you was it? I could understand that." He gave her a sympathetic smile.

"He was an amazing man." Jessica said choking up.

Daniel grabbed her and rubbed her back.

"It's okay."

"One day he was here and the next he wasn't. I've grown old without him. He promised he'd be here for me forever!" She sobbed into Danny's chest.

"Awe, Jess." He instantly began to feel horrible for bringing the subject up and kissed her head.

"I know he couldn't help it, but it doesn't help me sleep any better." She was hiccuping from crying so hard.

Danny felt so bad for her in this moment. Her tough  exterior was not so tough anymore.
