Five

The next day Jessica didn't get out of bed. She couldn't get up. It was like the grieving process had never happened. Sometimes this would happen to Jessica and she knew that.

Daniel felt terrible for bringing her repressed memories back. He wanted to apologize, so he made her breakfast in bed. He knocked softly before letting himself in and almost dropped the tray at what he saw.

She was sleeping on her side with one leg out of the blanket. She was bare naked. He didn't see anything risky, just her back and some of her upper thigh, but just seeing her leg was so new to him she'd never shown him any skin.

"I brought you breakfast sweetheart." He set down the tray and turned to walk out."

"Don't call me sweetheart." She grumbled.

He smiled to himself and walked out of the room.

He quickly did both of their work on the farm. He knew she wouldn't want him to slack off so he did her work too so she wouldn't have to do as much when she felt better.

It was late when he returned from working. He took a quick shower and when he walked out she was sitting at the table smoking a cigarette, she looked very upset still. Her eyes were red and puffy.

"I didn't know you smoked."

"I don't." She said, taking a drag off the cigarette and running her fingers through her tousled hair.

He gazed into her eyes. He was lost in them so easily. He'd never been like this in his life. Although he hadn't lived through many things yet, deep down he knew this was once in a lifetime.

As she snubbed her cigarette out, she looked over at him and smirked. She knew exactly what she did to him. When she stood up and turned around, her face fell with worry. What if he just wanted her for sex? What if the feelings of love weren't mutual?
