"You're about 10 weeks Jessica, which means we can do the ultrasound. How long have you been avoiding this appointment?" The doctor asked chuckling.

"Weeks." Daniel said.

"I didn't believe I was pregnant." She glared at Danny.

"Well surprise." He chuckled and Jessica panicked inside.

Was she too old? She'd been told pregnancy was impossible. How was this possible?

"Are there safety precautions?"

"We'll check you guys for gestational diabetes. You're measuring perfectly for 10 weeks."

Jessica ran her hand through her hair.

"You're sure?"

"Positive."

The nurse came in the room with the Doppler machine.

"Okay you ready?"

Jessica looked up at Danny who was smiling widely and squeezing Jessica's hand.

Jessica's uneasiness disappeared when  she looked at him. He was excited and his face showed it. He looked at her and kissed her head.

The nurse squirted the gel onto Jessica's belly and ran the Doppler over it. A loud thumping filled the room and Jessica looked over at Danny and her eyes teared up to the sight of a tear rolling down Danny's face.

"Oh my god, that's our baby Jess."
