Regina went to school the next day, trying to stay positive, but the second she saw her friends she broke down in tears. " oh my god Regina what's wrong? You look like you didn't sleep at all last night!" Ruby said hugging her sobbing friend. "My step dad died." Was all she could say. They gasped and belle immediately walked over to her and joined the hug. Soon the bell rang and they went to their first class. Regina tried to cover her tear stained face, but Emma saw it right away. "What's wrong with you?" She asked rudely, but instantly wishing she hadn't had said that. Deep down, Emma really liked Regina, she was gorgeous, just like a queen and wanted to get to know her, but she didn't want to be friends with someone who was friends with Ruby, the weirdest girl in school. Regina walked over to the teacher "can I use the restroom?" She asked holding back tears. The teacher nodded and she ran out the door to the bathroom. She ran to the biggest stall and sat down in the back corner curled up in a ball and cried. After a few minutes, the bathroom door opened and Emma walked in. "Regina? Are you okay?" Emma asked with a hint of concern in her voice. Regina's breathing hitched when she heard the voice, she was shocked that it was Emma. She slowly stood up and walked out of the stall. "Regina I'm..." Emma couldn't finish. Regina ran over to Emma and threw her arms around her. She didn't know why, but she just needed someone to support her. Emma was surprised, but made an attempt to comfort Regina. "Regina what's wrong?" Emma asked again. Regina pulled away before wiping the tears from her face. "Nothing, I'll be okay." Regina said starting to make her way to the bathroom door. Emma stopped her. "I'm not letting you go until you tell me." Emma demanded. Regina sighed and the tears came back. "My step father was killed yesterday in a drive by shooting." Regina said looking away from Emma. Emma gasped and threw her arms around Regina. "Im so so sorry!" Emma whispered in Regina's ear. For whatever reason, Regina could tell Emma was sincere, so she accepted her company, in fact she kind of enjoyed it. Emma instantly felt sympathetic for Regina, because she too had lost her father, she wanted to help Regina. After a minute, Emma pulled away. "I lost mine too." She said with a tear falling down her cheek.  "Regina, if you need anything, let me know." Emma said kindly. Regina's eyes got big. "Wait are you serious?" Regina asked. Emma nodded before leaving the bathroom. Regina stood in the bathroom for a moment stunned, not believing what she had just heard from Emma's mouth. She slowly made her way toward class and sat back down in her seat next to Emma, who gave her a warm smile.

The next day, Regina was still a wreck, but was still motivated to go to school. She couldn't stay in the house, it was too painful. She got to school, only to find Killian yelling at Emma. "You fucking bitch! How could you do this to me!?" He yelled. Emma was crying. "Me? You did this to me!" She yelled back. Regina ran over interrupting the fight as she put an arm around Emma. "Come on, let's go to the bathroom and cool off." Regina said leading Emma to the bathroom. When they went in, Emma immediately turned to lock the door. Regina looked at her confused but figured she didn't want anyone to hear the conversation they were about to have. "What's wrong?" Regina asked Emma. Regina felt the urge to help her after she had helped Her only the day before. Emma rolled up the sleeves to her jacket showing Regina the fresh deep cuts on her arms. "Emma!" Regina gasped as Emma continued to cry. Regina hugged Emma, and after Emma pulled away. "There's more..." Emma said wiping a tear from her face. "What is it dear?" Regina asked soothingly. "I'll tell you, but you can't tell Ruby or anyone else!" Emma said. Regina nodded her head and Emma continued. "I'm pregnant. That's why Killian was yelling at me. I just found out this morning. Not even my mom knows." She said sadly. "Emma, it's okay. Everything will be fine." Regina said. "No it won't. Killian wants me to give up the baby or abort but I want to keep it." Emma stated. Regina smiled and grabbed Emma's hands and looked into her eyes. "Look Emma, Killian is clearly a jack ass. If he really loved you, he would have helped you. It's your baby, and although he might be the father, only you have the final say." Regina said. Emma smiled in return. "I know, I'm just scared, I never wanted this to happen." Emma said her voice shaking. "I know it's scary, but you will get through this. You may not be strong enough to do this by yourself, but maybe we are. I want to be your friend Emma, and if you let me, I promise I will help you." Regina said smiling. Emma smiled too and gently kissed Regina on the cheek, sending a wave of warmth through out Regina's body. "Thank you Regina." She whispered in her ear as she hugged her before running out the door. Whoa, did Emma just kiss me? Does she really want my help? Am I starting to have feelings for her? Regina thought but quickly pushed the last question out of her head. This is going to be the start of something new. I can feel it. Was Regina's last thought before she too walked out of the bathroom and called after Emma. "Emma wait." Regina yelled. The blonde turned around confused. "Yes?" Emma asked. I know you've had a rough day and I need to go home to be with my family, care to join me?" Regina asked. Emma smiled and they walked out of the school together to Regina's car and drove home to Regina's home.
