Sneaking in

A/N: A little notice, everyone! I paced the story one week after that tragic moment happened on our last two chapters. Capicse? 👌😉

Chase's POV

"Hey dude, are you in for tp-ing?" Nathan phoned.

"Who would you tp?" I asked curiously while taking my shoes off using my other hand.

I just got home from a meeting. You think I actually attended a meeting on my own will?

No. My dad dragged me to go with him. He said it was time for me to know about, "business stuffs because.."

"..I'm getting old and I need someone to run this company with me. Besides you're my only son!" My dad patted me on my back while he took a pace around the couch where I sat in.

I rested my elbows on top of my knees and massaged my temples. 'Not again.'

"Dad, how many times do I have to tell you, I'm not into business portfolios, important meetings, chasing deadlines, hooking investors.. I mean where's fun with that?" I reasoned out, dropping my hands and reclining on the sofa.

"Okay, I understand..." My dad said who just stopped on his tracks.

I smiled for victory.

"But why don't you come with me on my meeting. Just in case you change your mind." He continued.

"What?!" I asked in disappointment. 'I can't believe this.'

"My little brother's schoolmate." Nathan said, drawing my attention back to him after I pulled my shirt off.

"What?" I asked in confusion with my eyes furrowed.

"Nash's schoolmate." Nathan repeated, monotonously.

"Yeah, I know. I mean, are you really gonna do that on a nine year old kid? Besides, you're only gonna make his parents cry." I asked, walking over to the kitchen and into the refrigerator to grab a food.

I took the phone in a distant before calling out a name on one of my house helpers when I couldn't find anything ready to eat.

"Maria!" I exclaimed, pausing for a second but called once again when no one responded.

"Maria!"

After what I decided to be the last call, she ran inside the kitchen with her hair all over her face like she got stuck for hours inside a tornado.

I raised my eyebrow while she stood in front with no posture, whatsoever. "What happened to your hair?"

"I crossed over a spider while doing the chores, and I took it down with my gloves for almost an hour or so..."

"A spider?" I repeated, not believing that I had been living in one roof with a damn spider.

She coyly nodded while meeting both of her hands in front of her. "It somehow found its way in your room? And I had to move out all the things inside to look for it."

"And you found it, right?"

This time she shook her head, "No, but I found babies."

"Babies?-- Wait, you mean that darn spider was a mother who bore mini spiders all over my house?"

"Maybe?" She gingerly bobbed her head up and down, while I groaned in frustration.

"Ask for an appointment for pest control as soon as possible... and fix yourself up. I didn't hire you looking like a mop."

"Yes, sir." She obeyed, before turning on her heel.

"Oh, and by the way. I might be out tonight." I told her before gluing my phone back to my ears.

"..and I said it's his schoolmate not classmate!" He exclaimed, obviously annoyed.

"Okay?" I asked uncertain.

Nathan released a heavy sigh before answering. He must have known I wasn't paying attention. "Please, just tell me if you're in or not."

"Sure. But... can I take someone with me?" I asked as a surprising idea crossed my mind.

I don't really know what is going to happen, but judging on what I caught to Nathan's words earlier I came to fix the puzzle which was fun and exciting.

"Just make sure he won't make use dodge a bullet." Nathan chuckled.

"I'm sure she can be trusted." I said, smiling widely.

"She?" Nathan let out the word with a shock before I ended the call with a smirk on my face.

Nikki's POV

I groaned, focusing my eyes on my textbook with multiple numbers dancing around.

"I hate this..." I groaned, resting my palm on my eyebrows while my elbows met my study table.

I stared back on my textbook one more time and sighed heavily, "Useless."

"This is u..." My stomach suddenly growled, and I hastily stood up on my feet, not making any second thoughts.

I went to open the door and walked downstairs. It had been two weeks since my grandparents died, and I think I am moving on. Little by little. It still thorns me facing reality but I wouldn't go nowhere if I mourned all along, and just wait till the pain completely subsides. It just doesn't work that way. I have to help myself heal the wounds.

I grabbed a biscuit from the cupboard and munched them down after taking a milk from the refrigerator. Little bubbles poked from below as I poured the white liquid in a transparent glass. After I waited for it to fill, I lifted the glass and felt the coldness of it on my lips. Just before I drank it, I heard a noise from upstairs which made me stopped for a moment.

"What's that?" I mumbled to myself then shrugged before drinking the milk at the thought of maybe, Aunt Crissa fell from her bed, again.

Placing the glass on the sink, I went back upstairs thereafter, not until Sally walked up to me mewling. She rubbed her furry body around my feet and glanced at me with such big eyes. Bending down, I pet her, making her purr louder.

"What is it Sally?" I asked in a small voice while she meowed in response.

I carried her, and stood up on my feet but she meowed once more and tried to break loose, clawing me as I voluntarily dropped her down.

"Jeez, what has gotten into you?" I crimped my eyebrows, eying her while she made her way to the living room, sophisticatedly waving her tail like nothing happened.

I shook my head puzzled while I rubbed my shoulder blade where she made a permanent mark. And after glancing back at her I made my way upstairs and into my room.

Chase's POV

A loud thud reechoed around the room, hitting the floor with my body.

"Oww, damn it!" I groaned, massaging my neck.

I shouldn't have spontaneously jumped like that. I thought, looking at the tree not even three feet away.

The idiocy of human kind.

My eyes scanned a cleverly flourished room filled with girl stuffs, but without a girl while I traced my hand on a glass desk. Before I jumped in, I was expecting Nikki to be awake with the lights on. Although, I guessed I was a bit in trouble. She could be awake, but she certainly was not inside this room. However, she could be dead asleep as well, but in a diferent room.

Earlier, I had a hunch telling me that this was her room. Nonetheless, what if it just purposely wanted me to be in trouble?

"No." I muttered to myself while I took a quick moment to look around.

Fortunately, with the love of heaven and earth, I recognized the dove gray colored sling bag placed on a polished white floor. The cool wind suddenly slapped me with chills trailing their way up my spine, and a little thought saying, Nikki is a different girl.

"Shit." I cursed biting my lower lip.

Nikki is a different girl! If she saw me here inside her room she'd freaked out!

Just before I could move a muscle, the door knob clicked.

Too late..

Nikki's POV

I opened my mouth to shout when I saw a guy... no rather, Chase! Inside my room! Although, I was quite astonished when he managed to shut my mouth in a swift movement.

"Trespasser!" I exclaimed but making it sound muffled.

"Shhh... Don't scream. Don't scream. It's okay." Chase hushed in a calm tone.

My breaths kissed me back each time I let them out because of Chase's palm blocking.

He thinks this is okay? Perfect! Calm down Nikki. He's just gonna rob you! I thought to myself before I nodded and just obeyed. Falsely. Of course I would scream again if he lets go of me.

Gradually, he loosen his hands. Dropping it.

"What are you doing here? And how did you get in here? Chase, I know I haven't told you to not sneak in here at night time. But jeez, you should know it yourself it's clearly inappropriate. What if I'm asleep? And I woke up with my fuzzy head seeing you inside my room I would have cut your head and deliver it to the cops! I mean..." I exclaimed making a rant while taking a pace back and forth to my room.

A few moments then, Chase placed his hand on my shoulder stopping me from pacing while he lightly chuckles. "Did you take those pajamas from a four year old kid?"

And I stopped, gradually looking down to myself horribly. "Holy cow."

Chase began to supress his laughter as I flushed in embarrassment. I was wearing a penguin pajamas while he wore a black tailored jeans and a badass leather jacket, matching a white shirt underneath it. The image before me intimidated me while I sunk in my own pink fluffy slippers, seeing him in his combat boots.

"You know you remind me of..."

"Don't you dare try to change the subject..." I heaved a sigh, closing my eyes for a second. "What... are you doing here??"

"Isn't your aunt here with you?" Chase asked, looking at me in the eye.

Oh God, I forgot about my aunt. I thought looking at the door, just in time when it turned.

Nervously, I looked at Chase wide-eyed and pushed him on my wall next to the back of the door with a thud, a close millisecond before Aunt Crissa opened the door.

"Nikki, who are you talking too?" Aunt Crissa yawned while rubbing her eyes.

Phew, she didn't see Chase, right?

"Uhh... I--" I trailed off, looking around my room for excuses.

"I was just... talking to Hailey on the phone on high speakers about our homework in math." I said, nervously smiling.

Aunt Crissa let out another yawn, "Don't skip bed. Sleep after you finish your homework. Okay?"

I smiled, "Okay. Goodnight!"

Aunt Crissa turned on her heel and I watched her walked away before closing the door, but not even a three steps away, she turned back around.

"Hold on a second," She took a step forward and recollected the two other steps she made earlier.

"Ho... hold on my hor, what?" I asked nervously about to sweat while holding a fake smile.

"Can I ask you something? I mean, I haven't talked to you about your personal stuffs yet." Aunt Crissa said, taking another step closer.

"Personal?" I repeated while I remained frozen.

She nodded, "Yeah."

"Well, I'm pretty busy right now and uhh..." I intoned, catching a glance on Chase.

"Just a quick question about your school, are you having a hard time catching up on your lessons? Or, well how about this guy... Chase, perhaps?"

"What? Wha... My lessons, about Chase?" I stuttered, almost wanting to knock myself out of the sudden embarrassment.

What did I just say?

"Oh, you know he's been coming over here to, I don't know, talk or something? but," She paused and lifted her index finger on me. "I mean, you guys are no girlfriend and boyfriend, right?"

"What?! No! No. that's... no!" I stammered, pressing my lips on a thin line.

This is humiliating. Why would she want to talk about Chase when he's here?! Well, of course she don't know that but..

WHY NOW?!

"I'm sorry I got homeworks to finish so please? Maybe, some other time?" I asked, flashing a forced grin.

"Oh, okay... Sure. Good night." She smiled, walking towards her room.

I closed the door and sent Chase a death glare who basically was just smirking at me. Fantastic.

"Be thankful my aunt didn't see you here." I said, rolling my eyes while I strolled towards my study table.

"Why not? I think she likes me." Chase responded, smiling to himself while I stared at him blankly.

What was he thinking?'

"What?" He asked, chuckling while planting himself on my bed.

"Nothing. How did you get in here anyways?" I asked while raising my eyebrow.

Chase didn't say anything but rather pointed out through the window.

"Of course." I uttered, staring at the window. "And what did you came here for?" I asked while heeded back to him.

"I just want to ask you if you want to come with me tonight?" He asked a bit unsure.

I furrowed my eyebrows in bewilderment and remained mute waiting for him to continue.

"I just thought you want to do something fun, at least?" He spoke, slowly picking his words.

'What does he mean by that? What fun?' I don't know if he can see this but I think I was starting to freak out. This guy is mad. Delirious.

"No. Wait, it's not what you think." Chase protested.

"Oh, really? Well, I don't think so, Mister!" I asked defensively.

"Look I just want to take you with us on a tp-ing." He said in a low voice.

"Oh, what?" I asked,

I was over reacting when I don't even know what he really meant by fun, but he couldn't blame me. Chase and I somehow build a bond within the past week. We talked about ourselves and other stuffs, but personally I hadn't known him that much. Not yet.

"I didn't k..." I started but been cut off by a mad knock on my door.

"Nikki! I'm done playing! Who is it with you?" Aunt Crissa hollered.

Chase and I shared the same 'we're dead' look before he gave me a nudge to answer my aunt and think of some excuses.

"Uh, Aunt Crissa I--" I stopped unable to think of something to say.

"Open this door young lady! And if I ever find out who you're with this instant, I swear I..." and before she could get further a voice slipped from my throat.

"I was just having a discussion with Chase!--" Oops..

"...on Skype about math." I added nervously, biting my lip.

"On Skype about math?" My aunt repeated.

"Yes?" I half questioned.

"Open this door now!" She knocked while I started to paint her face if she saw Chase here.

I was so terrified she might find out. If she did I'd be dead. Even if she let me talk to Chase all day at the living room, seeing us together inside my room quarter to midnight wasn't just right!

What will Aunt Crissa think then?!

I almost jumped when Chase placed his hands on both of my shoulders and leans on to whisper something.

"Open the door. I'll be up the tree." He winks before he rushed out the window, and I rolled my eyes in response.

This is all your fault, and all you can do is to send me a wink like it's all cool, same as your new shoes. Pfft!

"Unbelievable." I shook my head.

My aunt kept on knocking the door and repeatedly yelled my name asking me to open it. Grunting inwardly, I released a deep breath and unlocked it to open.

"You're gonna wake someone up. I told you I was only talking to my friends online." I said, sounding serious trying to avoid her eyes, because if I did not she'd know I was lying.

A/N: I'm here once again. XD and soz but I'm cutting this chapter into two because it's getting longer. 😂👍

Random question: Have you ever sneaked in someone else's room? 😂😂 don't ask me, cuz' I haven't done that in my entire boring life, yet. Although, it's not like I'm actually planning to... Hahaha
