Pulling roots

An undeniable fulfillment fed my soul after what activity was made, lately. Though, my aching knuckles says otherwise, it still felt good to know that Nathan lost one heck of a pride.

No one's wife: I guess, change my contact name from no one's wife to Mrs. Gustin, or Mrs. Garfield? I mean, Grant and Andrew are hotties so... 🔥

I'm not changing it anymore. It's been the fifth time, and I won't make it sixth and forth! <

Since Hailey realizes that she had been worshipping a prick's feet, she began gagging out her quondam husband, whom only existed in the phantasm of her own making.

No one's wife: Please, Nikki! I don't want to be single!

Okay, okay. So, what's on your mind? <

No one's wife: Well, right now I'm thinking, Chris Hemsworth's abs...

I released a deep sigh after reading her reply. Almost thirty minutes ago, Chase sent me a text, saying that he's been at the gym and will be here any minute now, so I have to end the conversation with Hailey so I could take a bath, pronto.

Chris Hemsworth's abs. Done. Bye bye, Hailey! See you tomorrow! 👋 <

Chris Hemsworth's abs: What, no! I didn't mean it that way!

Of course, you do. 😂 <

When I sent the message, I rushed to the bathroom thereafter, and decided to relax my body a bit with the tepid water pouring down on me. Time leaps out of my consciousness, I was still inside the bathroom shampooing my hair and Aunt Crissa called my name, saying Chase has arrived.

Turning the shower off, I shouted back a response, "Be right there in a minute!"

Afterwards, I rapidly rinsed my hair, dried myself and slipped on a pair of comfortable pajamas, before speeding down the stairs to meet Chase.

"Hey," I smiled, approaching the good looking guy sitting on the sofa with Sally sleeping beside him. "Sorry, if I made you wait."

"It's fine, I just got here anyway." Chase grabbed my wrist, and guided me to sit beside him before resting both his elbows on his knees with our hand interconnected, "So, what happened? Is Hailey doing okay?"

Chase's thoughtfulness really poked my heart. The way he asks not just about me, but also included everything I was concerned about. Be it my friends, or my day. And I cannot lie, that was basically the sweetest piece of him.

"I guess she's doing fine after I told her that Nathan is just another trash, I mean, not a trash. Well," I nervously let out a short laugh, "What I'm trying to say is that, she's been laughing her ass out earlier, while I trembled out of nervousness as we fleed for our lives."

"Wait, what?" Chase furrowed his eyebrows, and distanced his face from me, for him to see if I really was being serious.

"Yeah, well, that normally is a part of a little excursion we do..."

He let a small nod, as if fairly convincing himself. "Uh-huh... You know, Nathan called me earlier, said he has been attacked by a crazy masked girl."

Uh-oh...

"Girl?" I made myself sound innocent, thereby, freeing myself from being the suspect, for the time being. Just to know how much information Nathan told him.

He bobbed his head up, and reclined his back on the couch. "Yeah,"

"So, is there anything he told you with regards to the girl's identity, perhaps?"

"Nothing more, but, I think I know someone..." He trailed off.

I furrowed my brows, and forced out a fine tone in my voice. "Really? And your theory?"

"Well you know, I've heard, read, watched, and witnessed cases comparable with Hailey's. And the first thing the victim considers was to plan a revenge..." He deeply stares at me, which started to intimidate me at an extent of time. "Tell me, does this excursion you two made had to do with Nathan losing a tooth?"

Oh, no damn abs of Chris freaking Hemsworth.

I tittered, averting my gaze from him while chewing on my bottom lip. "...Uhh," I contracted my shoulders and faked a grin, "Vengeance is sweet?--"

The fact that I emphasized the same line Voldemort stated once, made me sound similarly an evil foe but on the chapter of my own life.

"Goodness..." He mumbled under his breath. "Look, one of the three musketeers lost a musket. And that's unacceptable now that he's down to a bush-league." He made a fake laugh to cover the actuality of him defending Nathan.

"It's a tooth, and I bet you'll make it an exemption once I tell you that, I, did it." I said, and showed a smug filled with confidence.

"No." Chase shook his head, and acted as if I just claimed one thing I didn't do to protect Hailey's actions, while I rolled my eyes.

"Wow," I trailed off a mutter, "It's like you said, you wouldn't care if you knew that my knuckles hurt." I pouted, and released a heavy sigh.

"But why would you even hit Nathan in the face?-- Didn't I tell you not to cause any kind of trouble, especially to yourself?" He asked, while brushing his hair back with his fingers, openly distressed.

I shook my head, disapprovingly. "You didn't tell me anything like that. Though, at least we were careful enough to be home safe, right?"

"Oh, Nikki..." He mumbled through his palms that now covered his face, before stretching them away. "Give me your hands."

After hearing the words roll off his lips, I obliged and laid them on top of his for him to scrutinize, "Are you mad at me?"

"I'm not mad, I was... worried." He said, while tracing his fingers on my left hand, and letting it go after seeing it with no bruise or wound.

A minty exhalation fans across my face each time he spoke, and the mild fragrance of his perfume attempted to linger through my nostrils, which candidly pleasured me. My fingers then, seeks to touch his slightly wet hair, and skin free from sticky feeling which tells me that he just had a fresh bath.

Chase flipped my right, and stroked my knuckles with his thumb. "Be thankful it didn't cause much contusion, but, I'm still wondering where you got the power to punch Nathan that hard."

I huffed and swatted his hand away, "You're welcome to wonder if I appear to have no bones, yet I managed to smack him in the face."

The deadpan insertion of the remark made him laughed, while I kept my mouth shut in annoyance for a brief period.

"The guy cried, Nikki."

I gasped along with throwing my hands to my mouth. "No,"

He simply shrugged and continued, "...from laughing, after seeing how you covered your face with two masks. He said, it's the most idiotic idea coming from a girl with blonde hair." He asked, and started laughing out loud.

"...If you didn't stop, I will do the same to you." I muttered, while rolling my eyes from him.

"I really want to see you do it, sadly, I won't afford it if you break the white wall." Chase brought back his composure before I gave him a smirk.

Suddenly, Aunt Crissa's phone rang, which was placed on top of the coffee table. Somehow, I thought that it was there for a reason. For her to have a purpose to "unintentionally" sit with us in the living room. Much like Hailey, she would interpose herself between Chase and I, if seen close together. It was her way of showing how a responsible guardian she was, in a freaky way, though.

I stolidly faced Chase, while he stared back at me with confusion. "To my room, on my mark."

"Oh! Someone is calling!" Aunt Crissa screeched, while sprinting her way towards us to answer it, as she proceeded to sit down on the tan colored recliner thereafter.

While she talks to the person on the other line in German language, Chase and I sneaked our way upstairs. As soon as we took a step through the stairs, Aunt Crissa called for us.

"Nikki, no locking of door, and keep in mind that I might barge in at any time I like. So, please don't attempt to do something you'll regret doing, before long." She made it sound immaculate, that only turned the vibe awkward between Chase and I.

"Absolutely, not. The air alone is pleasureable, so... yeah," I tried to ignore Chase's eyes for the meantime which was making me uncomfortable.

"Don't worry, I ensure you nothing will happen. We can leave the door open for reassurances if you'd like." Chase guaranteed, with a courteous smile.

Aunt Crissa sighed heavily, while glancing from me to Chase before gradually nodding. "Alright, visitors will leave before ten."

"He will." I said, pulling Chase upstairs.

The only thing that lightens my room was the lamp shade on my study table, and as I switched the bulbs on, traces of mess from yesterday's overnight stay with Hailey, laid around the place. The balloons she used to decorate the place with, floated down, leaving the fairy lights surrounding my room, untouched.

My face flushed from embarrassment that Chase had to see my room like this. "I should have kept the lights off."

"I'm fine either way." He said, as he scanned the untidy place before us. "Honestly, what is worth celebrating for again?" He chuckled while I walked inside, breathing in the sweet scent of the body wash I used from the shower.

"Hailey was overjoyed, and overworked everything from last night's sleepover." I lifted myself up on bed with my back on the headboard and my knees folded. "How's everything at the field?"

Chase planted himself beside me, and smiled. "It's exhausting. Though, I'm glad that each players made such huge progress and becoming more hyped up for the upcoming match next week..." He paused to ask a question. "You'll be there, right?-- And see me whip out the opposing team on the field?"

"Definitely." I assured, and gradually leans to peck a kiss on his cheek, until I heard a slight creak from the wooden floor at the hallway.

Good heavens, seriously??

Chase raised his eyebrows in confusion, as I uttered a low grumble in hopes on extending my frustrations out of the room. "I don't feel too comfortable with the openly arrangement."

"What's the matter? I thought you said, the air is pleasurable?"

"Not if it was being taken by someone from us!" I increased my voice, and darted my eyes to the door frame, as I waited for Aunt Crissa to pop out from hiding behind the partition.

As expected, she showed up and leaned on the frame with her arms folded to her chest.

I face palmed myself and sighed, "A little privacy, please?"

"That's not what I'm worrying about. I mean, look at your room," Aunt Crissa motioned her hand around, as I eyed the litters, "You're becoming very unorganized as you grow old."

"I don't know what you're talking about, but I guess it's time to close the door, so..." I trailed off, as I stood up and ambled my way to her, reaching for the door to close it. "Bye!"

Turning on my heel, I faced Chase and defended myself with a statement. "What she said, isn't true, okay? I'm a very organized person."

"Anything you say..." Chase smirked, and leaned his back on bed, adjusting his position to relax. "By the way, the police almost penned down the incident on the blotter, until I told Nathan not to. Just to let you know that you owe me a thank you."

I released a soft chuckle, before crawling back beside him. "But he didn't even get anything more to report to, apart from that girl being a blondie."

"Who knew? Maybe later while you're asleep he'll come over to punch you back in the face. After all, you're blonde, and also, you're the victim's partner in crime." He stated down everything that might help Nathan lead himself to me.

Groaning, I hit him in his upperarm, making him heave his body up for a sit. "Why would you say that?"

"Dang, Nikki, you're killing me! I just worked out..." He moaned, caressing his sleeve.

I raised my eyebrow and simpered, as I attempted to challenge him. "I don't see that a problem."

He gave back a look the says he accepts, and moreover, would exceed me with what I started. "You want to see a problem?"

"You know what? Math is too much. I don't need any more problems." I rolled my eyes, forestalling what might happen if I prolonged my gaze to him.

"Math has a lot of problems, yet none of them were left unsolved."

I chuckled and couldn't help, but to look him in the eye, "I love how you sound like a real student sometimes."

He sent me a smirk, and leaned over gradually. His fingers caressed my cheek, leaving traces of butterflies to travel all over my body. I closed my eyes, just as Chase's wet lips hungrily greeted mine. It started differently with such force. He grunted, while I jerked my back to meet the headboard after he bit my lower lip.

"Chase." I uttered in between the kisses, while I occupied my hands as they crawled from his back, tousling his hair.

After hearing me say his name, he dominated the kiss even more. In a languid motion, he broke the lip lock and started trailing kisses down my jawline. I let out a soft moan, while feeling his weight to mine. It lasted long enough to make us more in heat, with our hearts beating a pace in satisfaction.

Chase unexpectedly stopped, eying me, while chasing his breath. "You're aunt is just a step away on killing me, I swear."

"You're not dying alone." I heavily breathed out, along with a dull sound from the foam of the bed as he slumped his back on bed.

It went silent for a quick second, allowing my eyes to scan and be mesmerized on Chase's face. Never had I felt so in love with someone by just staring at them. With his eyes closed, I could see how fine his lashes were. I rose my eyebrows in a notch, and trailed down to his chin, and intently eyed at the short hairs on his chin.

"Chase? When was the last time you shaved?"

"Huh?" His fingers found there way to his stubble and said, "Oh, almost a week now. They actually grow fast."

I chuckled, and nodded in agreement. "Shaving problems, I know..."

"Do you shave your legs?" Chase asked, with a grin.

"Have you tried plucking those off with tweezers?" I questioned back while wiggling my eyebrows, as I threw back the whole thing on him.

"No, and never in a million years, so..."

"So?" I quickly grabbed my tweezers at the bathroom and teased him by clinking the tips of it. "Just one."

Chase shook his head and backed away with horror, "No, Nikki, consider the fact that men uses razors because it hurts less."

"I don't care. Come on, just one pluck, please?" I pleaded, dramatically. Enough for him to say, okay.

Grinning widely, I laid down beside him, as my elbows supported my weight. Chase kept still, while I clipped one short hair with the small tool, before pulling it hard.

"Goddamn it!" He growled, and brushed his chin with his palm, easing the sharp pain. "Where do you use those?"

"I don't." I laughed, while eying the hair clipped in between the tool's tip. "Can I do more, please?"

He sighed heavily and shook his head this time, "Let's just watch a movie, shall we?"
